i love pf changs i get the spicy chicken and it runs about 13 then plus a drink. but one plate can feed two people.
1/22/2006 2:36:50 PM
i like the spicy ground chicken with eggplant ... its only like $8.99 and i usually make three meals out of it
1/22/2006 2:48:10 PM

1/22/2006 2:52:56 PM

1/22/2006 4:51:03 PM

1/22/2006 4:54:56 PM
PF changs is pretty good, a decent sit down place for some asian food.
1/22/2006 5:15:29 PM
It's okay- but not a place I'd go to every week (price and for health reasons)You should try it!
1/22/2006 5:31:55 PM
the hammer?
1/22/2006 6:01:13 PM
(I haven't read this whole thread)Chang's can vary a bit depending upon who cooks your food and which Chang's you go to. It isn't really that expensive unless you get something like the Oolong Sea Bass. Expect to pay $10-$15 for most entrees, and maybe $7 for an app. My favorite entrees include:Kung Pao Chicken (Extra spicy)Mongolian BeefChangs Spicy Chicken (Extra spicy)Beef and BroccoliDan-Dan Noodles
1/22/2006 7:37:39 PM
mmmm Double pan fried noodlesYUMand I don't like ChineseIt wasn't that expensive...I ate for about $11
1/22/2006 7:38:20 PM
Changs is good, but only the one at Crabtree, the one in Durham is significantly worse.Kanki blows, i don't what you guys are saying, there is no way it's better than Changs, and it's more expensive!Changs is not too expensive, dinner for 2 can easily be under $30, it's not that bad for a nice place. And yes, it's americanized, but give me a break, all chinese food here is, so what. If you like it, eat it.My bf loves the kung pao chicken, you have to get the fried rice, and it has the best calamari i've ever had--it comes in strips, and if you prefer that, it's one of few places where you can get it.
1/23/2006 10:55:22 AM
very americanized food. i personally like it, but i'm not under any dillusion that i'm eating real chinese food. for that, you'll need to go to NYC, philly, etc. OR, some of the local chains have different menus for their chinese clientele. MUCH better than their americanized menus. just ask. or take someone who can help you order. [Edited on January 23, 2006 at 11:10 AM. Reason : er]

Peking Garden on Millbrook has a Traditional menu (in english too). Also, China One in Durham has dim sum on the weekends. Both very much worth checking out if your feeling adventurous.
1/23/2006 11:23:25 AM
pf chang's--chinese foodkanki--japanese steakhouseWHY ARE WE EVEN COMPARING THE TWO?!?!?!!
1/23/2006 11:39:29 AM
I was starting to think Kanki moved to China.
1/23/2006 11:44:21 AM
^^because it's tww. and because they're both asian cuisines and in the same mall.
1/23/2006 11:47:18 AM
i am thinking that people who think pf changs is awesome are the same people who think that olive garden is an outstanding place to take a date
1/23/2006 11:51:07 AM
and red lobster has the best seafood around!
1/23/2006 11:52:28 AM
chinese food is horrible in nc, period.if you want some real good chinese food that isn't over priced, you have to go to florida, texas, nyc, cali, or where ever there is large chinese/vietnamese population. [Edited on January 23, 2006 at 12:01 PM. Reason : to be vague. ]
1/23/2006 11:58:27 AM
wow, that must have taken some time to go to each and every chinese place in the state.
1/23/2006 11:59:59 AM
well, i have sampled a lot of chinese places in major cities of nc.
1/23/2006 12:02:08 PM
so its more like "chinese food is horrible in nc, question mark" then "chinese food is horrible in nc, period."

you can eat at chang's for like an average of $50 a couple. that includes app, 2 entrees, a dessert and 2 drinks.
1/23/2006 2:00:23 PM
double pan fried noodles with shrimpdee-lish

has anyone been to Mama Fu's Asian House??? I know there is one at North Hills?? Is it any good and what does it compare to food and price wise?
1/23/2006 4:40:58 PM
1/23/2006 4:57:17 PM
^^ mama fu's is good. i've only been to one in charlotte though.but don't kid yourself, it's fast food.
1/23/2006 4:58:26 PM
All this shit talking about authentic is absurd. If you want authentic find a nice place in Chinatown and get some barbacue duck's feet, with an abalone as big as my arm, and eat the head of a giant fucking crab. Toss back some earthen wine with sea cucumber and you're set.You will not like real Chinese food.

1/24/2006 12:11:56 AM
PF Changs is overpriced and the food is mediocre at best.
1/24/2006 12:27:22 AM
the people bashing on the food at PF Cheng's are fucking retarded. It's nice, Americanized Chinese food. It's better than any of the shit you can get delivered from a little chinese takeout place. You're not getting the same style of food as you would if you went to Kanki or that other place like it in Cary. That stuff is really good too, but it's not the same thing. Meals will run you $10-$20 a person depending on what you order. I always thought the appetizers were a little pricy, but the entrees themselves aren't bad. Everyone is right, get the lettuce wraps, they're damn good. The pan fried dumplings aren't bad either. I go about once every few months, and in the three or four years I've been dining there I've never had a bad meal/experience. Just don't go on a Friday/Saturday night.. you'll be waiting a while.
1/24/2006 8:11:53 AM
^^ I disagree.
1/24/2006 12:42:23 PM
here at Chotchkie's, it's about the atmosphere and the attitude. look at Brian over there. see, he's got 37 pieces of flair...
1/24/2006 1:00:25 PM
just ate Pei Weipretty good
1/24/2006 1:33:10 PM
yeah i was wondering about that placewhat did you get?
1/24/2006 1:35:01 PM
forget what it was called exactly--i think "Asian Coconut Curry"got it on a salad instead of noodles or rice. coworker that got noodles loved them.
1/24/2006 1:39:26 PM
god i love green currywas it good? how much food do you get?

dig the lettuce raps. compared to the shitstain on crap lettuce they give you at places like chiles (of course, everything there is bad), those are awesome
1/24/2006 2:37:04 PM
yes the lettuce wraps are good
1/24/2006 2:38:52 PM
No sweet tea, Kanki is so much better
1/24/2006 11:26:23 PM
food is okay, prices are okay, atmosphere is nice.... it's worth trying, but i wouldn't go out of my way to eat there often
1/24/2006 11:30:16 PM
pei wei is ok. the entrees are not the same as pf changs but there are similiarities. From what i rmeember you get a lot of food as well. Good. But i like pf changs better. And just a comment Kanki is Japanese food.
1/24/2006 11:43:26 PM
i ate there today as a matter of fact. Entrees range in price from 10-15 bucks. I agree with them when they say it looks alot more expensive then it is. I suggest the beef.
