clearly the best manning
1/17/2006 1:41:32 PM
Hate hate hate.... all of you fuckers probably forgot that Elway didnt win shit until really really late in his career but you all would probably suck his dick at the drop of a dime now...
1/17/2006 1:58:22 PM
no
1/17/2006 2:17:44 PM
^^elway at least made it to the big game.....
1/17/2006 3:37:57 PM
steviewonder, you are correct. ricky manning jr is by far the best manning.

^^iff (if and only if) the following occurs:1. He changes his last name from Manning to Aikman or Young. (Remember that his father never made it to the big game either, much less the play-offs).2. He buys a ticket and attends the Superbowl as a spectator, and somehow wins a contest at the Superbowl (maybe the Brutus Award for the best backstab of the year)3. He trades himself to an NFC team such as the Cowboys or 49ers. (Since he coaches himself, I figure he can trade himself also.) This is followed shortly by #1.[/thread]

I am going to save this shit so I can show you all 15 years from now how stupid you were... this is like calling Bonds or Ted Williams shitty
1/17/2006 3:59:10 PM
1/17/2006 4:04:15 PM
you are retarded... first of all, he is known around the league as someone who defends/supports his teamates all the time, every press conference he praises his o-line, said all of the records last year were just as much the o-line and wr's accomplishment as it was his... and in what you just quoted, he said "protection" not the offensive line. protection includes o-line play as well as personel, formations, blocking schemes etc. If you watched the game the Steelers had the perfect game plan, executed it perfectly, the Colts as a team, manning, the o-line, coaches everybody couldnt adjust to compensate for it. Like I said, you all probably love John "I wont play for the team that drafted me" Elway even though he failed a lot lot more than Manning has... Oh, and the idiot kicker remark had nothing to do with a loss. It was in response to stupid ass comments that Vanderjagt madeYou know nothing about football, shut up and go play some Madden before you embarass yourself some more.I do have to admit this got a chuckle out of me""I'm trying to be a good teammate here … so I'm going to let Tee Martin start for me in the playoffs from now on."[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 4:19 PM. 1/17/2006 4:17:07 PM
1/17/2006 4:19:17 PM
i just saw the protection quote... did he specifically say the o-line at any point?
1/17/2006 4:22:08 PM
1/17/2006 4:23:19 PM
AND the other things...thats like a defensive back saying "our pass coverage sucked today"... thats not calling out his teamates anymore than himself.. he is saying the entire portion of the game sucked
1/17/2006 4:26:31 PM
youre only kidding yourself.
1/17/2006 4:29:56 PM
yeah, you are totally right. he's the worst QB ever. I would take Joey Harrington before him. If he tries hard he might one day be half the QB that Akili Smith was
1/17/2006 4:33:00 PM
interesting, i dont remember ever saying he was a bad quarterback.from now on, ill just let you speak for me.
1/17/2006 4:34:57 PM
I am saying it... he sucks. marino sucks too. ted williams was a shitty baseball player. for his first 13 years, Elway was worthless.
1/17/2006 4:36:40 PM
why do you say that?
1/17/2006 4:37:45 PM
Peyton Manning...Mr. October
1/17/2006 4:39:20 PM
idiots. So, according to your logic, Marvin Harrison is a shitty player/choke artist, Edge is one, Stokely, Freeney, etc.You have no clue what a team sport means... like I said 100 times, QBs get WAY too much credit for wins, and WAY too much blame for loses.
1/17/2006 4:42:28 PM
are you argueing with yourself?
1/17/2006 4:44:18 PM
I was just referencing the fact that Manning might have something about him that makes him NOT the team player he is made out to be. Somehow his authority supercedes that of Dungy, he criticized his offensive line (protection may be a phase of the game, but its the phase he's not a part of and therefore he is criticizing those involved in protection ex. his offensive line). He learned from his daddy the importance of looking out for #1. Archie had one of the worst pro records of any quarterback, and has since made it his mission to live vicariously through his two sons....Peyton may be a great quarterback, but he is NOT a great teammate. Great teammates don't call each other out after a tough loss.... Jay Davis was not a great quarterback, but he most certainly was a great teammate. He took all the blame and criticism, and didn't place any blame on another player. Jay Davis could have easily done so, but he didn't. That's a great teammate....[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 4:46 PM. Reason : and if Jaybee could take off his Manning Media glasses, he might see something....]

1/17/2006 4:49:40 PM
fuck peyton & elirather have fucking chad pennington- least i would have an excuse why we don't go to the Super Bowl.
1/17/2006 4:49:51 PM
^^wow.speaking of not having a clue.
1/17/2006 4:51:14 PM
its true...everyone on the colts talks about what a team player he is, everyone in the league does as well. He is one of those people that everyone wants to find something wrong with just because everyone else likes him.
1/17/2006 4:53:47 PM
Who's Eli? I wasn't even thinking about him. He actually seems to be doing well outside of the fact that daddy is always watching. My problem lies with the perception that P. Manning is the be-all end-all quarterback for all ages NFL god. He's human, just like the rest of the league. I just find it funny that you sit here and defend someone who provides new and interesting reasons to be NOT worth it. P. Manning is a good player. I never said he wasn't. I am just re-iterating the fact that he is NOT a good teammate. Yes, he calls out protections. Yes, he calls the plays. He is the coach of the Indianapolis Colts (Dungy is his administrative assistant). P. Manning called out his protectors in a press conference when he used the phrase "I'm trying to be a good teammate here...." There is no arguing the fact that once you utter those words, what follows is a clear attack on another player on your team. You are just trying to cover your sorry butt when the crap hits the fan. Manning was trying to be a good teammate, and he failed.Just stop defending the indefensable. I'm not hating. I'm just stating some clear and simple observations about a player who you think is god.[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 5:02 PM. Reason : ]
1/17/2006 5:01:34 PM
but what I am saying is that all of you hated him before that comment for no reason.its not like you all loved him until Sunday night... I admit that one comment was a bit out of line but that is far outweighed by all his other positive comments and all the blame he heaped on himself after the game. If Brady had said that SAME thing everyone would be like "oh he is being a strong leader, he is kicking his players in the tail, getting them motivated, good job!"
1/17/2006 5:06:23 PM
To be honest, I like P. Manning a ton more than T. Brady. Brady has the same characteristics branded on him by the media, but also is the most metrosexual person I've ever seen. His press conferences look like off-stage at a fashion show. At least Manning speaks/acts like a man, not a pansy. So, no. I would not defend Brady for the same comments. I would be ranting even more. I hate Brady!
1/17/2006 5:10:09 PM
ok, well, the other 99% of the Manning haters would then...
1/17/2006 5:10:51 PM
1/17/2006 5:23:02 PM
I have a feeling you guys care more then his team mates his comments were directed at do. Actually i would bet on it.
1/17/2006 5:26:50 PM
1/17/2006 5:28:20 PM
jay davis didnt direct any blame because someone with no talent (read : stone) was more effective and won gamesi mean lets face factsdavis fucking sucked
1/17/2006 5:29:05 PM
davis beat va techyeah i couldnt find my old "TreeTwista10's Top 5 Mannings" thread...not only did I have Ricky Manning Jr. on there but I also had Manny Lawson on my list!]
1/17/2006 5:43:10 PM
Davis beat Va Tech?When?
1/17/2006 5:55:31 PM
well we didnt beat them this year so it mustve been last year...when randall was their qb and davis was ours...back when our defense was #1 in the nation
1/17/2006 5:59:51 PM
ahatry to brush up on your NC State history.I mean, it was only last year.Fucking moron.
1/17/2006 6:03:13 PM
1/17/2006 6:17:16 PM
but if he had said that, you would have brushed it off
1/17/2006 6:21:00 PM
i dislike Brady's abilities on the football field...b/c he more often than not finds a way to win game i don't want him to wini don't really care about Manning when he's playingtheir attitude off the field is interestingBrady and the Pats are humble, whereas Peyton's frustratedbut like i said...i guess that comes with what the Pats have done and what the Colts haven'
1/17/2006 6:45:14 PM
^*40.......elway made it to the super bowl a few times before winning...unlike peyton who has and never will make the super bowl
