what the fuck are you talking about?

How the fuck are you gonna call me a fag when you have one of the most homo-erotic photo galleries in the history of this website.

I stated facts about the contract debate. Which wasnt even the point of this thread.

The point is.... Rivers & Bench in '06 is looking like a legit candidate.

I am neutral in this argument, but this comment was fucking weak and retarded:

Quote :
"Keep whining and making fun of Rivers while he's a multi-millionaire and you will never see a million. Jackass"

if that was the case then 98% of the country could never ever comment on anything in the NFL because they are multi-millionaires and we arent

"Let's play "What if?" What if Rivers held out 18 days instead of 25 in 2004? Had he showed up a week earlier, he would have been in competition for the Chargers' starting job. Had that happened, Drew Brees might not have had a Pro Bowl season and San Diego might not have been last year's Cinderella story, finishing with a 12-4 record. Remember, the Chargers selected Eli Manning against his wishes. Less than an hour after the pick, they traded Manning to the Giants in order to get Rivers as their quarterback of the future. But Rivers held out until Aug. 23, despite threats by ownership that it wouldn't change its offer."

I'm simply proving that at the time, there was no disagreement about what was taking place in Rivers holdout.

Only now, two years after the fact, there is disagreement as to what actually happened.

You cant just conveniently change what happened because its two years later.

click on the fucking links, scrappy.

Theres pages and pages of articles.

Heres my challenge to you.

Find a link showing how many tacos I ate for dinner tonight.

What happens if you can't find one?

Does it mean I really didn't eat three?

Did I only have two tacos since you couldnt find a link?

Or perhaps I never even had those tacos... I mean there's not even a link saying I did....

i saw those pages, and NONE of them provide what I asked for. in fact, the first fucking link is an insider article from JULY 2005, so...

priv went to a team KNOWN for fucking over its rookies. i don't blame him for watching out for #1.

but, hey, lets play your game. I said "show me that the chargers didn't offer him stupid and impossible incentives."

you responded with people saying "phil should be paid like a #4" and "the holdout cost p-riv the starting job." yeah, thats really responding to what I asked for, and thats really telling me the "truth." i'm glad you got some fucking tacos but that doesn't change the fact that the chargers offered phil nothing initially, so phil said "fuck you."

"the Chargers rejected several new proposals from Rivers' agent, Jimmy Sexton, and essentially stuck to the offer they made to the former North Carolina State star earlier this month.

ESPN.com learned that Sexton this week presented the Chargers with three proposals aimed at ending his client's absence from training camp. The proposals, about which Sexton said he was "cautiously optimistic," jump-started negotiations. Talks had stalled on Aug. 8, when Chargers officials publicly announced that Rivers missed a deadline for agreeing to their final offer.

The public stance of the Chargers set off a war of words, with Sexton, who rarely speaks to the media, firing back at the team. It also sent Rivers, who had remained in the San Diego area to that point, back home to North Carolina to work privately on conditioning. He returned to San Diego earlier this week, perhaps in advance of what he felt might be a pending agreement."

Now where's the link on those tacos, slugger?

By contrast, Manning, Fitzgerald and Gallery all have incentives that are either easily makeable or at least theoretically possible. you still havent addressed the charger's recent history of fucking with their first round picks.

i also fail to see how you compare a draft pick's holdout (under no contract and thus MUST be sure, perhaps more than any other time, to secure his own security) to a player (TO, Walker) who is already under contract and demanding a different deal. i hate when guys already under contract hold out because they dont like it, but i feel its entirely different for someone NOT under contract to hold out for the best deal possible. thats just good business.

your premise on this thread is true though...i dont think they can afford to let him go now either. anytime a QB gets his shoulder fucked with, its potentially bad news, especially for a guy like brees who doesnt have a cannon arm anyway.

It's really not worth the arguement. You've posted links that provide no information on what you're trying to prove. Find something that will actually prove the point you're trying to make like something that breaks down the details of the proposed contract.

Everyone here disagrees with what you're saying so I'm done wasting my time. I do however agree that Philip's situation sucks with Brees getting hurt.

No one has proved anything.

The quote that jtmartin provided, while interesting, does not specify whether that $22.5 million is part of the $40.5 offer or an incentive on top of it.

I've never seen a really clear description of the offer either way--articles have represented it both ways all along to try to make either Phil or the Chargers look greedy.
