You would want Boston to pay 52 over 4 for Johnny Damon?Wow.
12/21/2005 11:59:26 AM
dude's got old man ears already. no wonder he grew his hair out.......faggot
12/21/2005 12:44:53 PM

12/21/2005 12:46:38 PM

12/21/2005 1:14:55 PM
Not as much as we loved seeing you guys get pissed off about this.
12/21/2005 1:16:16 PM

Johnny Damon...A YANKEE?!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12/21/2005 5:01:33 PM
personally i dont care that the sox got rid of him or let him go or whatever.....however, i hate the fact that he is going to the yankees....i think he will do one of two things there 1) tank 2) MVP
12/21/2005 5:11:26 PM
the Yankees own everything... this sucks
12/21/2005 5:47:07 PM
I hate the Yankees and I hope that Damon has the worst season on his career next year. They did overpay for him and there is no way in three to fours years he'll be worth 13 million per season.
12/21/2005 5:52:04 PM
12/21/2005 6:03:53 PM
johnny cash had a great hit that must have been towards redsox fans.... i think it was called "cry cry cry".how bout getting an owner that will invest this much money in his team, and you could buy whoever you wanted to as well.also, until they get a cap in baseball, don't blame steiny for spending whatever he wants.
12/21/2005 7:25:20 PM
The Yankees are the best team in baseball again. It pisses me off. I know Damon probably isn't worth $13M over 4. However, the Red Sox had a $10M/4 deal. It WAS worth it to pony up that extra $3M/yr to do two things: keep him in the Fenway CF and to not let the Yanks complete their team.Lets face it. The Yankees with Crosby in CF are NO WHERE NEAR as good as the Yankees with Damon in CF. All the Yankee fans on here will tell you, like they did all offseason so far, that Crosby was fine and they didn't need anyone else. That is just plain wrong. Every single one of them wanted an upgrade. Well now they got it.Larry Luchinno seems hell bent on destroying every bit of good will this team had from 2004. Every bit of it. Not only did he lose the heart and soul of the team, now Manny says he will accept a trade ANYWHERE because he doesn't feel the Sox want to win. No Damon and No Manny will eventually lead to NO Ortiz. Everyone knows that. The second Johnny Damon gets introduced with his short hair and clean shaven face in pinstripes it will be the worst day for a Red Sox fan since October 2003 seeing Pedro walking off that mound in the 8th inning.
12/22/2005 8:33:16 AM
Damon was one of the biggest stars on the team. Without him you still would be waiting for a World Series win. As soon as he leaves for a better deal (like any other player in the current history of sports would have done) you say he is horrible and not worth the money. How about instead of bitching about the trade and how much Damon sucks think about how horrible your team has done this off season. You know, whoever they get to replace Damon will not be anywhere near the impact player he was. . So instead of taking your anger out on Damon and the Yankees, I think you should direct it towards the people that really deserve it.....THE RED SOXS for letting a star player like that go.
12/22/2005 9:43:16 AM
Uh, I did. Notice the paragraph blaming Lucchino?

how have the Red Sox had a horrible offseason up til Tuesday, they upgraded at 2nd base, they got a hot prospect at third, they offloaded the man with the most errors at SS in the MLB last season. Until we lost Damon to Free Agency, he wasn't traded like some have erroneously stated, it was a mediocre offseason, and its not over yet. Losing the best leadoff hitter in the majors hurts but the Red Sox weren't going to pay him that much for that long because he could become an injury risk playing the position he does. Lucchino is fucking the team up though, and John Henry is too scared of him to do anything about it. It hasn't been the offseason of dreams, but we will bounce back.
12/22/2005 11:01:59 AM
I wouldn't want Boston to overpay at 52 for 4 years. It's going to be funny in a couple years when the yanks are too old to win and they have all of these contracts...
12/22/2005 11:55:24 AM
Its called putting the best team in place to win. Maybe if the Red Soxs actually learned how to do that they would win a World Series more than once every 86 years.
12/22/2005 11:59:53 AM
maybe if you learned how to spell you wouldn't be such a douchebag
12/22/2005 12:03:46 PM

12/22/2005 12:08:45 PM
ya know i dont care much for baseball, but NYM did you ever just consider that he wants to win another championship?i mean maybe winning is more important than anything to himhaha jk, he's a traitor
12/22/2005 12:30:00 PM
so what is their lineup?damonjeterarodgiambi (switch with sheffield)sheffieldmatsuiposadacanobernie (will he be back?)holy fucking shitballs
12/22/2005 2:10:36 PM
Bernie is back. Signed a one-year, $1.5 million deal. He'll be the DH and back-up CF and bat eighth.I'd switch Giambi and Sheff, but that's about right.
12/22/2005 2:18:45 PM
can't wait to see his reception when the yankees go to fenway
12/22/2005 3:32:17 PM
i think curt schilling might be the last person on earth who would refuse to play for the yankers
12/22/2005 5:32:24 PM
robinson cano might as well be the bat boy ... fucking pauper :x
12/22/2005 5:37:57 PM
I havent responded to this thread yet. This makes me sick. Thats all.
12/22/2005 5:42:46 PM
despite all the talk about the money, you guys do realize the yankees payroll will be around $13 million less than last year right?
12/22/2005 5:51:24 PM
If only the Yanks had managed to get:Icing on the cake.
12/22/2005 9:46:24 PM
