What the hell are you guys talking about bias toward this school?

I hate this school more than anyone.

Cam has potential to play at the next level.

He can be a stopper and he can be a slasher.

You dont need ballhandling if you play above the rim.

^^LOL at that list.

ENGIN ATSUR over Cam! Fells and Costner don't even see the court and you already think they are our 2nd and 3rd best NBA pospects.

Plus why are you so low on Bethel? If he could ever get healthy he would be a good NBA point guard with a little better ball handling skills. He is fast, jumps high, plays good D, and can shoot the 3.

Now that's just kind of a stupid statement.

Aside from two games, Ev has been our most consistent 3-point shooter this season.

He's shooting 44% from beyond the arc this season (those stats haven't been updated for tonight's game yet).

I just don't think that qualifies as "OMG WTF HAPPENED TO EV'S SHOOTING?!"

I'm glad he's on fire against virginia military and app. state. I just hope he can hit some against some good teams down the road, which he didn't seem to be able to do hardly at all against iowa.

Atsur has arguably been our second most valuable player the last few years. He must average the fewest turnovers per minute for any guard in the ACC. He is a great shooter, plays good defense, and is extremely reliable. The only reason why he's not higher is because of his size and speed. And yes, he has a better chance of making an NBA roster than Cam.

Fells and Costner have the body, athleticism, and skills that the NBA wants. I don't need to see them play 30 minutes a game to know that.

I love Bethel, but he's not an NBA pg. Point guards are used in the NBA primarily to ball handle and create open looks, neither of which are Tony's strengths.

And Evtimov does not suck. He's a very good shooter despite what anyone here says. But there's simply no chance of him making an NBA roster.

Atsur could theoretically make it if his 3-pt shooting improves markedly.

I don't think that Cam has much of a shot.

how the fuck is atsur going to make it before cam. do you even watch the NBA? The smaller you are, the faster you have to be. Doesn't matter how well you can shoot if you can get open.

what other slow, small dudes is he gonna guard in the NBA?????

I cant believe you think the level is comparable. Our best player in 10 years has 3 minutes of playing time this season in the NBA. Atsur has ZERO upside. His skills cant get much better and neither can his height, speed, or strength.

How fucking moronic can you be to think that he is NBA material?

Adam Harrington played some time in the NBA. Atsur has similar size and speed, and he's probably a better player.

PS what the fuck does Hodge have to do with this argument? Rodney Monroe was one of NC State's best players all-time and he didn't make it in the NBA. Del Negro was nothin special but he had a 13 year NBA career.

I don't think anyone is trying to claim Atsur is going light it up in the NBA. This is all Atsur vs. Cam. Atsur does many things better than Cam, hence a better shot at the NBA.

^you realize that when people hire you for an entry level job, EVEN MORESO IN THE NBA, they hire mostly based on upside.

NBA rookies are all about upside and potential. don't kid yourself. Someone might take a risk...

You have lost your goddam mind.

Look at tonight's line, granted it's against UNCA but still

Bennerman: 30 mins, 4 assists, 2 turnovers, 0 steals

Atsur: 25 mins, 9 assists, 1 turnover, 5 steals

and for the season

Bennerman: 182 mins, 63 points on 8 of 29 3's and 13 of 22 2's, 12 assists, 9 turnovers, 7 steals

Atsur: 238 mins, 82 points on 15 of 37 3's and 12 of 15 2's, 37 assists, 18 turnovers, 17 steals

The NBA draft is about two things: 1) who has the best chance of contributing to the team, and 2) how significant could their contributions be. From everything I've seen, Atsur wins in both categories.

For the past 3 years, Atsur has been better than Bennerman, I don't see any reason why that would change. Vertical leap alone isn't going to do it.

well the NBA would be more likely to draft Cam because of the athleticism...there are plenty of people that make it in the nba because of pure athleticism, but they suck goats ass. Then, Lattener, who was arguably the best college player of all time as far as tallent is concerned, didnt do shit in the nba except have a long career.

I guess JJ Redick isnt going to make it in the NBA. He's small, slow, and he can shoot, but he's going to make it big, even if only for a while. Yes, he has learned to create his own shot against college D, but he's going to struggle in the pro's. Fortunately for him, 90% of the teams dont play D.

Cam will not make it though. He cant shoot well enough to make up for his horrible god awful shitty terrible ball handling skills. On the other hand, you're allowed 5 steps in the pro's before they call a travel, so maybe he'll be fine

Haha, you bitches. Notice he is 6th on my list. No one expects him to be an NBA all-star or lottery pick. I just think he could make an NBA roster, and I think he has a better chance of being successful in the NBA than Cam.

To be brutally honest, we don't have ANY NBA TALENT on our fuckin team. Hell, hodge bmi'd to the league. He's the best thing that happened to State since sliced bread. All this talk about cam & atsur is bogus. Cam: forget about his ability to dunk, what else can he do? If you're gonna use pure athleticism, you're gonna need either size or skill to play. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here.

Atsur is fuckin sanitation too me. Little head ced is about the rawest thing we got right now. Bethel is good, when he dosn't have some life threatening illness.Cam...he's good help. These guys currently have not demonstrated "potential" NBA level play. Lets really really be serious.

Duh. Duhon played for some great Duke teams.

I really don't see how some of these Dukies make it in the NBA. Dahntay Jones was decent, Duhon isn't typical NBA material, and look at Shavlik Randolph. How in the hell does he get a chance?

what are you talking about Duhon isn't a typical point.

He defends, passes, and shoots the three... He's not gonna make all-star teams but he'll be a quality point in the NBA for a decade minumum.

Shavlik was a little surprising initially, but he has a jumper so he can be a poor man's Troy Murphy.

Shav was probably a lottery pick out of high school rememeber...

Dahntay Jones has the athleticism to fill a role in the NBA.

Alright guys, since Bennerman obviously has zero pro potential go ahead and compile a list of all the guards/small forwards in the ACC with a better NBA body than Bennerman.

Shouldn't be too hard to come up with at least 10, right???

this isn't a comparrison of bodies dude, wtf? The point was his body does not suit his style of playing. There is no way he can be a stopper/slasher in the NBA with his body style. He would have to have about 4 more good inches (no homo), and about 15-20 more lbs to do that effective. With his body style now, he needs a J, or extreme handles. With this he could play at the next level easily. But he doesn't have this.

it doesnt matter if you're a little short for the NBA if you can get your head above the rim when you dunk the ball. Thats why they're arguing that Cam could go pro. Body style has nothing to do with it. Its athleticism, and he has plenty of that, he just cant play basketball, thats why he's not going pro.

4 more inches are you serious?

Cam has the body, the athleticism, and the game.

Im not saying he'll necessairly even be drafted, but he's at LEAST 50/50 to play in the NBA.

If Julius Hodge can play in the NBA theres no doubt in my mind that Cam Bennerman can.

This thread is going under my topics.

Corey Maggette got picked mainly just because of his size and body. Look at Maggette and look at Cam and tell me the difference. Maggette is 6' 6" and 225. Cam is 6' 5" and 210.

but when i see him real he look alot smaller... maybe 6'2"
athleticism + fair production can give him a shot at NBA.

Cam couldn't hold a match to Corey Maggette are u guys serious!!!!Magette was a fucking animal, who was a starter and averaged entirely more pts than cam. This thread is getting stupid as hell by the min. Cam doesn't have half the game as maggette. How can u compare a guy who dosn't even start (on a sorry as mediocre W-pac team) to that man. Let alone, say he's going to the NBA? He dosn't even start on our sorry ass team.

Let me pump my brakes for a min. You guys are prolly thinking that we have a bomb ass team this year huh? b/c we're ranked like 21st or something. Truth is, this team as of now dosn't have any NBA potential. Im not going to argue over body size and athleticism. There is no NBA skill from any of these people mentioned. So get outta here with this 50/50 chance shit. If you don't start, how tha hell do you have a 50/50 chance? Hodge had a 50/50, wilkins had a 50/50 (didnt work, but he had one) also with Powell. They were starters with either size-skill, or athleticism-skill. Point is they all had skill.

And Julius Hodge can't even play(barely) RALLYDUHRAM, so that's needless to say. And if he can't play, you know damn well Cam can't play.

Maggette is 6' 6" and 225. Cam is 6' 5" and 210. Thats a big fucking difference dude. Maybe not in fball, but bball is much much more precise. He would get his ass animalized in that matchup. Opposing teams would salivate for that. On top of his poor defense whoa...

Bennerman is much better suited for NBA basketball than Hodge.

I tried to tell everyone here Hodge offered almost nothing to the NBA.

No one is saying Cam is the next Maggette, but you do realize CM is one of the top scorers in the league now, right?

Cam's never gonna average 10ppg or anything, but there's no reason he can't make the NBA.

It doesn't matter what you did in college.... newsflash, nobody cares. They only care about what you can do for them.

The NBA has plenty of guys in the league that were less productive in college than Cam.

None of our current starters have much chance in the NBA except Ced. I could see him developing(see Josh Powell, but better and more developed) and turning into a NBA player. He definitely has the biggest upside.

The rest aren't hardly worth talking about in terms of NBA potential. Maybe fells or costner, but that's so far away it's hard to say.

Ced will get drafted, there is little doubt about that. He is definitely the most NBA capable player Herb has had.

Costner, Fells, and Grant are decent possibilities as well, but it all depends on how they develop the next couple of years.

Grant is going to have to stop fucking up in college if he wants to make it to the NBA.

Simmons probably has the most potential, but he's going to have to prove he can power his way up to the basket and use his left hand.

Bennerman needs to work on counting his steps or at least making it look like he's taking as many as he's actually taking. I could imagine him making it into the NBA somehow.
