1/10/2006 10:06:09 AM
Hey guys...how long will it tak the Cubs to win the Series....since every year a baseball record is beat ( I figure this year will be for Barry Bonds)....Maybe 2007?Also....I'd love to see the Mets win!
1/10/2006 1:01:00 PM
^^ It doesn't obviously..http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/baseball/mlb/wires/01/11/2010.ap.bbn.mets.pelfrey.0356/Kid is gonna be a stud and soon... GOD I wish we still had Kazmir.
1/12/2006 1:01:19 PM
^ Pelfry played at Wichita State. I live in Kansas and got to see alot of highlights about him. He is going to be a stud. I just hope the Mets trade him like they did Kazmir
1/12/2006 1:43:29 PM
who sucks more the mets or the devel rays???
1/13/2006 2:17:49 AM
your gay
1/13/2006 2:18:10 AM
I don't get it. Are you insulting yourself?
1/13/2006 9:53:12 AM
The Braves will win the East. As long as Bbby Cox is still the manager, the Mets will not win the division. They may have enough talent to beat the Braves head to head, but it's too soon for them to win the division in the long run.[Edited on January 13, 2006 at 9:27 PM. Reason : d]

Benson for Julio and John Maine. Seems like getting rid ofand the $13.5M owed for a mediocre pitcher. I don't mind it. After all, the hated Victor Zambrano had numbers just as good as Benson, minus the HUGE contract and the distractions..
1/23/2006 9:12:19 AM
Oh it's Mets Caravan day.
1/25/2006 1:41:39 PM
^ I live in Kansas and they had the Royals caravan going around the state. It came to the town I work in and stopped at a place about three minutes from where I work. It was Jermey Affeldt, Emil Brown, some old crappy Royal players, and some even more crappy current players. Needless to say I did not bother stopping by.
1/25/2006 1:53:48 PM
aahaha.. I think the Mets take theirs a bit more serious. They have Delgado, Wagner, Beltran, Wright, and Floyd at the very least..
1/25/2006 1:54:40 PM
It's Lima time???
2/15/2006 12:20:27 PM
TWO WORDS: COX - BOBBY
2/15/2006 12:23:39 PM
Mets complete their spending orgasm by throwing chump change at a guy with a 6.99 ERA.
2/15/2006 2:03:42 PM
Hey NYM410 - you better be praying that Lima does not actually make an apperance in a Mets uniform because that will essentially mean that Willie has given up on the season. Maybe he can find some of that Houston magic again in the NL, but man he had to be the worst SP in MLB last season.
2/15/2006 2:04:45 PM
His hair is at least pretty fun to look at.
2/15/2006 2:06:07 PM
It's a shame she has the herp..Anyway, it's a minor league worth less then league minimum deal in case someone gets injured. There is no way he is going to be a starter under normal circumstances.^^^ spending spree? Their payroll has gone DOWN since the Phillips/Duquette days. It's under $100M, near the Phillies level since Florida is paying part of Delgado's contract.[Edited on February 15, 2006 at 2:07 PM. Reason : xc]
2/15/2006 2:06:12 PM
Lima is a no-risk sign... he pitched very well for the Dodgers a couple of years ago and this is basically what the Mets are looking for... if he flames out so be it, if he pitches well and re-locates his junk then he will have a place as a long relief man. Either way the Mets aren't going to lose.

mets fan checking in, at least i'll be back in ny next year so i won't have to deal with all this braves noise from people who live 2 states away
3/1/2006 1:40:12 PM
the mets will find a way to fuck it all up.
3/1/2006 3:12:56 PM

the Mets have been trying to become the NL East Champions for how many years in a row now
3/1/2006 4:55:34 PM
dude, don't even start, that's like bode miller bragging how he qualified for five events.....big deal
3/1/2006 6:55:13 PM
the mets have no reliable startersrule #1 of winning the NL East: good starters win games
3/1/2006 8:36:12 PM
Pedro is sitting out the WBC because of his toe or whatever. I don't know if that is good news for the Mess or bad. I'm betting that he'll be ready opening day.
3/1/2006 11:13:32 PM
E^^ yet their 5 starters had a lower combined ERA then the Braves 5 starters.. hmmmPedro, Glavine, Heilman, Zambrano, Trachsel came out to 3.62 as starters.Smoltz, Hudson, Ramirez, Sosa, and Thomson came out to 3.78 as starters. (I've read that even though Sosa was good last year Davies might be the 5th starter over him -- though I don't agree with that). If those 5 stay healthy then the Mets will be fine. Also, don't be shocked to see Mike Pelfrey be pitching in September...[Edited on March 2, 2006 at 8:15 AM. Reason : Ernie. Don't bring weak shit into this thread!]
3/2/2006 8:14:24 AM
^ I agree with you on that. I like the Mets starting five better than the Braves right now mainly because Ramirez looked like crap last year, there is no telling if Sosa can repeat his success, Thomson is a garbage 4th or 5th starter, and Smoltz has the ever present injury risk. Even if Davies wins a starting spot (hopefully over Ramirez and not Sosa), then he is just one more question mark.
3/2/2006 9:45:06 AM
sweet jesusi cannot WAIT for this season to start
3/2/2006 10:53:39 AM
the streak shall continue....Go Braves
3/2/2006 12:54:01 PM
Are you talking about the streak of futility of the Mets?

^^ By "last pennant" you must mean "last time spanked in the world series by the Yankees" bwahahahaha :yawn :the mets and braves are second rate at best
3/2/2006 2:08:26 PM
last braves world championship: 1995last mets world championship: 1986fuck a pennantwe got a trophy with 32 pennants on it

^ Good one
3/2/2006 4:33:31 PM
I was mostly talking shit but I will say that when I think of the Braves all I can think of is the Buffalo Bills - even if the Braves have 1 title. The Mets suck just because I'm a Yankees fan.
3/3/2006 10:18:32 AM
No the Mets just suck because, THERE THE METS[b]

3/3/2006 10:26:30 AM
Hey NyM410 - is Nady going to have regular spot in the Mets lineup or is he platooning with anyone? I think he might make a good sleeper for my fantasy team especially in that Mets lineup with Reyes, Wright, Beltran, and Delgado. He certainly looked worthy yesterday.
3/3/2006 12:35:03 PM
I think Mets brass is going to play Nady. I like Diaz but he has options left so he can be outrighted to Norfolk. I'm also not sure how Willie likes his work ethic.I think Nady, if given the ABs, is primed for a breakout year.** Also, I think Carlos Beltran is going to have a huge year. He is going to hit 2nd most likely with great protetion. If Jose Reyes can up his OBP look for a .295, 25, 100, 100 season from Beltran..[Edited on March 3, 2006 at 1:04 PM. Reason : f]
