holy shit huge pass by fsu.
12/3/2005 10:44:46 PM
ya, because having 3 wins against teams with winning records is much better than having 5. losing to michigan state is much better than not losing to michigan statebeing 9-2 is much better than being 10-1.[Edited on December 3, 2005 at 10:45 PM. Reason : .]

Oregon, UCLA, and Cal are all capable of beating ND
12/3/2005 10:45:56 PM
I just watched the #12 team in the nation get crushed by USC. While USC is surely deserving of high praise, I think half the reason the game was a rout was because UCLA wasn't that good to begin with! They looked atrocious out there and were nowhere in USC's league. Defense, awful. Offense, awful. And USC isn't known for their "vaunted defense", either. The best teams from most of the other conferences could probably beat any team in the Pac-10 (not named USC)
12/3/2005 10:48:51 PM
^ Now that you think about it, yup.Just get rid of conference championships and start the "BCS playoff" early. But since it's not a bowl game but would be part of the regular season, there would be more focus on getting the best teams in and not necessarily the teams that would bring in the most money.

USC was only able to beat ND due to a last second quarterback keeper with illegal help from the running back. what makes you so confident that three lesser teams in the PAC-10 could do what USC barely did?
12/4/2005 12:52:07 AM
yeah im sure usc marching up the field had nothing to do with the win either ND almost lost to fucking stanford, they aren't all that
12/4/2005 11:43:05 AM
ND did not almost lose to stanford. it was never in questionwhat about all the "near losses" oregon hadseriously, you people talk about ND more than most ND fans do, just get over it![Edited on December 4, 2005 at 11:58 AM. Reason : d]

hey if ND would lose to a 5-6 Michigan St team, why not lose to a 7-4 Cal team?it really doesnt matter OSU is going to wax the fuck out of ND anyway[Edited on December 4, 2005 at 12:18 PM. Reason : asdf]

^don't bother mentioning the loss to MSU, they always ignore that part of your post when you say anything about it.either that or they'll say 'oh but michigan state was top 20 when they beat them' which is the worst fucking argument ever.[Edited on December 4, 2005 at 12:24 PM. Reason : state]

I acknowledge it. They lost 2 games by 6 pts combined. One against the best team in the country and one against a team that was ranked at the time but went into a freefall. Oregon has 1 loss and probably deserves to go to the BCS even though I am 100% confident ND is a better team. Oregon deserves to go over Ohio State as well even though I am 100% confident OSU is a better team. Oregon NO DOUBT deserves to go over an unranked, 4 loss Florida State team and is BETTER then that team.Ya know what? Tough shit. That is the way the system works. If Oregon didn't lose to USC then they would have no worries. Oh well.I'll be sure to cheer on the Irish while all you guys pout and curse at the screen.. no problem for me.

Edit that. Save face. Please for the love of God. Either that or get out of this argument.
12/4/2005 12:28:21 PM
why?people are being retarded and mentioning margin of victory and transitive propertiesmy point is the Pac 10 isnt as weak as people think and ND gets by on media hypethats it
12/4/2005 12:29:52 PM
Um. You had two HUGE factual mistakes. First off ND won that game 38-31.Second, ND is certainly NOT 1-2 vs the Pac-10 unless Micigan State just realigned.
12/4/2005 12:30:42 PM
ah well 2-1 they did manage to beat UW didnt they
12/4/2005 12:32:38 PM
I'm not even trying to play the PAC-10 is weak thing because I think the conference is very underrated. I actually put the PAC-10 on par with the ACC this year as far as top level and even depth. They just don't get the coverage over here.I'm actually a huge fan of the the media-named 'low level' BCS conferences like the Pac-10 and Big East. I'll be rooting like crazy for USC and WVU accordingly. However, I really don't see a problem, given the system, with ND getting the bid over Oregon. It's only a 1-slot difference in the standings so it's not like #12 ND is going over #5 Oregon. I'd have a problem with it if it was something like that..

congress needs to investigate where the hell my socks go between washing them and folding them. It's a conspiracy!

i wasn't arguing with you, you usually have a level head about things like thisphishnlou always posts comments about how nobody respects the Pac10 or that they only have one team worth being rankedi mean the only pac 10 school i root for is Arizona because my parents went there, it's not like i'm claiming conference superiority

When Notre Dame wins a bowl game, maybe I'll change my mind.

the only thing I've gotten from this thread is that a lot of you hate FSU and won't give them credit for what they did this season. They slipped off for a few games, but they played like a top 10 team last night and they will do the same again in a bowl game.
12/4/2005 2:59:44 PM
ahahhahahathats funnyfsu beats an overrated vt thats prone to choking and suddenly theyre the real deal and bcs worthy
12/4/2005 3:00:58 PM
you'll find out soon enough. clinching their division that early got to their heads, but they won't lose when it matters.
12/4/2005 3:04:16 PM
