^My insurance lady did say that since he reduced it to 5 over it was a waivable consequence and that if it showed up on my insurance it would be easy to have it taken off-since it is my first offense.JSteen you should have your mom ask your insurance provider about that as well since it was your first offense too.

that's what i'm saying...i think you HAVE insurance points, but i think it only counts as two, and i think they can't charge you for less than 3.either way, it's effectively the same.

As it turns out, I find myself in a similar situation as the thread starter, but there are two complications. I - the ticket was for 18 over (53 in a 35 on Buck Jones Rd, didn't know it was a 35 zone or I wouldn't have been going quite that fast).II - Turns out I was supposed to renew my license in September, so I also got charged with driving without a valid license. The cop told me that, as long as I go renew my license within the next few days (I plan to go tomorrow) that the second charge should be dropped. However, with that as an extinuating circumstance, and being that the speeding charge was more than 15 over, is there still any chance of getting it reduced to 9 over in y'all's opinion? Or am I basically screwed and need to get a lawyer? The only ticket I've had, ever, is driving without a seatbelt in June 2000. *It's ironic that I actually got pulled for speeding that time too. The state trooper decided to be nice and give me something that didn't carry an insurance penalty.

^^^Oh, ok. I get it! ^^That sucks, but since it's ben so long since your last driving "conviction" -and it wasn't even speeding you don't have to worry too much about having your license revoked...It's still a possibility but not a big one. Get a lawyer and good luck!
