i don't see you name in that postanywhere"everybody" implies the general majority of people with Marcus Stone biasthe qb switch has gained us nothingif anything it's given false hope to fans and actually taken us a step backwardwe're right back to last season, in a sense, because of the change in commandif we get to a bowl, i'd as glad as anyone, and if Stone "gets" us to a bowl then he deserves mad propsbut i don't think we can do it under Stonewe might have been able to under daviswe might have had a better BC gamewe might have had an even better FSU game and a better USM gameI'm not feeling the Stone vibehe hasn't impressed me enough to the point where i think he should be starting or that he should be taking over the team as quarterbackhe's only in there because it doesn't matter who's in there and chuck just wants the fans to like himChuck knows the qb position doesn't matter in his offense anymore, that's why stone's inbut that shouldn't be the reason Stone's inStone should prove that he should be the starter just like Davis proved it in the springif Stone proves to be better than Davis then he should startbut he hasn't proven that, he's just proven he's capable of being a qb, same as Jay[Edited on November 14, 2005 at 2:59 PM. Stone's first start was the USM game, if that game wasn't a gimmie win then there's no way Stone would be startingif it was FSU or any other ACC team Jay Davis would still be startingMarcus got the reigns for the USM game b/c Chuck realized he had an opportunity to see what Stone could do for an entire game without risking a lossbut you know what? we almost lost that game. in some respects we should have lost that game. 99% of the time you do not commit 4 turnovers and come on top with the W. it was a lousy and pathetic win, but nonetheless a win.and because it was a win, and Marcus Stone's name was attached to it, Chuck couldn't bench Stone for the FSU game because he would get more hell from the fansthe truth of the matter is that Andre Brown and the defense won the USM and the FSU game. Compare the rushing yards and defensive stats of those game to any previous game and you will notice a significant difference. Stone's contribution included 1 completion in the first halves of those games, the ability to hand the ball off, and a few good pass plays late in the games. I don't believe he sparked the defense to play better, I believe the defense started to up its game after they scored a safety in the W-F game. The BC game was the reality check for this new Stone era of NC State football. I'm not claiming we would have won with Davis playing in the BC game, but I think we would have played a better game offensively.

Stone bothers me b/c he will not throw the fucking ball. He has to give his recievers a chance to "make" plays. even if they're partially covered. This is why i worry (well i really don't give a shit) about his growth. i think we're gonna be screwed next year also.If we can't throw the ball, we sure as hell can't run the ball. So...who ever thought we had a run game????? 2 good running games = run offense?? Im just asking...state fans.

Both Stone and Davis suck, so why even discuss this?
