i saw jj jones today in his car in front of biltmore round 4which means he was either already booted or he was in the process of missing segments and practiceand snowman if you are gettin info like this, u really have no business spreading it around like that, thats fucked up and unethical, even if you are part of the team[Edited on November 10, 2005 at 6:43 PM. 11/10/2005 6:41:22 PM
they just said on scout.com that jj was not making the trip to B.C. and washinton was moved to safety
11/10/2005 6:56:33 PM
Amato confirmed that JJ Jones won't be traveling to BC for academic and team reasons. Bobby Washington has been working out at safety for two days after approaching the coaches about making a move.

11/10/2005 7:25:38 PM
thanks for the heads up man. I really thought you were full of it. This seems to have came out of nowhere
11/10/2005 7:27:15 PM
damn...I met JJ this summer. He doesn't seem like he would be one to get booted from the team. He's a little obnoxious sometimes, but he's a nice guy, and seemed to have his head on straight. He's married and a 5th year senior...I wonder what the hell else he did besides missing class. I guess if he was missing all the time and this was just the last straw I could see it, but I dont know what else.
11/10/2005 8:00:05 PM
making fun Chuck's Chest i bet
11/10/2005 8:02:27 PM
The article didn't say he was off the team.... just said he would not be traveling to Boston College this weekend
11/10/2005 8:03:56 PM
well snowman said he got kicked off the team...I havent seen the article yet.
11/10/2005 8:06:00 PM
Then I'd take snowman's word for it.He's 1-0 thus far
11/10/2005 8:07:23 PM
^if you have access to that article on packpride can you post it?
11/10/2005 8:08:18 PM
Not really an article.... the mods just got this little bit of info. The story will probably be up later as the details roll in
11/10/2005 8:10:28 PM
ah...sounds good. Well the good news is that Bobby sounds like he's making the effort to stick around NC State...I mean if he's willing to switch to safety from RB then he's probably not going to transfer.
11/10/2005 8:13:13 PM
The guy hasn't played at all this season, how are we to judge him in the first place?[Edited on November 10, 2005 at 8:33 PM. Reason : ']
11/10/2005 8:33:42 PM
Bobby is a sophomore this year correct? It would be pretty easy for him to pick up the safety position from now till august.or would he redshirt next year?
11/10/2005 9:53:41 PM
He might be able to redshirt this yearHas he played any?
11/10/2005 10:02:06 PM
He played against EKU, VT(kickoff returner), and he actually got the ball 3 or 4 times against GT
11/10/2005 10:08:14 PM
eh, nevermind then ....Oh yeah... Chuck Amato Press Conf.

^amato being sarcastic, its hard to feel the tone of what he is saying from the transcript, but the guy just moved to D 2 practices ago, and he is just being sarcastic to what he thinks is a dumb questionno matter how good an athlete BW is he will have to take some lumps on D before he gets better
11/10/2005 11:48:39 PM
Safeties have to be really smart and instinctive back there. It'll take a while for BW to pick that shit up. Remember how bad Troy Graham looked in his first year making the switch from WR to safety?
11/10/2005 11:52:43 PM
damn--i just hope JJ gets his shit together[Edited on November 10, 2005 at 11:59 PM. Reason : almost became what i hate]
11/10/2005 11:54:16 PM
This could be good if true because JJ Jones can't cover a sole or make a tackle. Bobby and Morgan in the same secondary and play Heath at a LB damn that would be a pretty athletic Defense right there.
11/11/2005 12:14:09 AM
only a complete and total fucking moron would think that a complete novice would be better than someone with experience at a position.seems to be a trend among all the new posters here, recently
11/11/2005 12:16:58 AM
I am not saying right now, next year man he isn't goin to see time there this year. He is one of if not the best athletes on our team along with DeJuan Morgan. That is what you play on Defense is athletes. JJ Jones was 5"6 160 pounds and couldn't do anything, he was one of the weakest links.
11/11/2005 12:19:42 AM
over who ?
11/11/2005 12:23:22 AM
J.J. Jones is 6'0" and 189 lbs. http://gopack.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/jones_j.j.01.html

Wow, we have two good safeties playing back there right now in Heath and Scott...there is no need to move those two. Thing about JJ is he was a beast on punt coverages. He's fast as hell, so he always beats his man to the returner. Also, he really isnt that bad. He makes some false steps, but usually he is the safety to blitz when he's in, and he is also fast enough to make up for his mistakes. He has run down a number of plays this year that could have gone for touchdowns. I'm not saying that Bobby wont do well back there, but lets think about the fact that our secondary isnt exactly experienced in the first place...I dont think we need to go moving players around this deep into the season. Dajuan Morgan is probably the guy to replace JJ anyway. He plays rover (LB/safety) in most coverages anyway. They played for 3 weeks without Scott anyway...something will work out. Now if Bobby really played both ways in high school, the learning gap for him might not be that big. I know its a totally different ballgame in college, but at least he will be familiar with the position. Most good players in college played both ways anyway, and they play where the team needs them most. I would be surprised to see him get any pt againt bc this weekend, but he'll play against MTSU.

i know this is off-topic, but i didn't feel like making a new thread, plus i figure it'd get a good response since a lot of discussion has gone on here. my question is why do we give visiting fans tickets in the main stands of C-F instead of putting them in the temporary bleachers? it'd make sense to put the people actually donating a lot of the money in the best seats possible. VT put most of the State fans last year at the top of the upper deck and a small sliver of the main stands. it kinda backfired on them though when that was the end where their kicker had to try to kick the game winning fg. i know i was yelling my head off and jumping up and down to try to distract him.
11/11/2005 12:52:29 AM
^And change their band seats with ours so we can hear our band and not theirs.
11/11/2005 12:53:43 AM
thank god for the Red Zone seats (aka the NEZ) next year. i'm afraid that they'll break up the student section in two and put all the students in both endzones. the student section needs to be lumped together so that they can make the most noise and be unified in their cheers.
11/11/2005 12:56:21 AM
^^yes...of course it helps to have our band in that endzone to make noise when the other team is about to score a touchdown in that endzone.
11/11/2005 1:02:16 AM
"why do we give visiting fans tickets in the main stands of C-F?"Because we want good seats on the return visit to their stadium. If you give crappy seats to away teams, you will get crappy seats in return.

11/11/2005 11:05:47 AM
we already know that man
11/11/2005 11:07:39 AM
JJ went to my high school and i was an athletic trainer so i know him pretty well..he's a good guy and he is really fast...he's been a DB since he started playing football and he wasn't even recruited to go here he just walked on, so that must say something for his talent...i'm not questioning whether or not he has academic problems, but it's definately not talent, heart or discipline that's keeping him from making this trip...and like somebody else said...experience is what makes the difference and jj definately has that[Edited on November 11, 2005 at 11:52 AM.
