why were they handed out?obviously because the media and red cross put pressure on them to.and just as obviously, they wouldn't've done so otherwise.

HURR!!!!

There is a difference between drinking yourself and encouraging others to drink. While most babtists engage in the former, they would undoubtedly frown upon the latter.

Is it possible that there are some sort of restrictions and regulations on exactly what must be printed on the can? I am pretty sure that the cans had to say who bottled it and where it came from as a matter of accountability right? What is the big deal that they put their logo on? It wasn't a very flashy advertisement if it is the white can style that Clear5 posted.

^by saying you dont know what to believe, are you actually saying that you think southern baptists would withhold water from people who had none just because it had a beer logo on it?
11/2/2005 10:48:56 AM
that any southern baptist would? no. In fact, I'm sure that most would still give out the water. Do I think that any of them would withhold water because of a label? I'm sure of it. Why not? After some christians have said they don't want their children vaccinated for HPV to prevent cervical cancer (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2005/10/31/MNG2LFGJFT1.DTL#story) because it might encourage sex and "activist pharmacists" have refused to fill prescriptions (http://www.dirtygreek.org/journal/journalId/1540) based on religious reasons, why in the world WOULDN'T I believe such a thing? Certainly there are some people who are anti-alcohol who would be this serious about it. Many? I don't know. but there are definitely some.

arent all southern baptists closet drunks anyway? or is that a different religion?

my search engine optimization is pretty finely tuned, and he said he did google searches for everyone "spreading misinformation," so that's probably why he found me

it is stupid. this is free advertising that HELPS the community. of course they do it for goodwill and community outreach, etc. that is why businesses donate, to get the publicity that comes from helping the community. i mean, would they boycott the NFL because the players donate their time to organiztions then make commercials out of it.but the bottom line is, it was still free water to people who had none.i will not touch the hypocrisy of it.
