i dont think its a coincidence that every time a chick ventures in here except for a few (uncsucks, and absoluteapril come to mind) they make stupid arguments and prove they know pretty much nothing about the sports they speak of

I'm not an alias. I'm a female who is ridiculously pissed about football, regardless if its FANTASY or not, please continue reading..obviously some of you CAN NOT! I said I love the panthers so their real success matters too.You guys are the biggest jerks. You don't realize that your points are all invalid, saying that a player played well 3-4 years ago, DOES NOT HELP US ON THE FIELD TODAY..Its like me saying, BobbyDigital used to wear that size Large shirt...WELL IF WE CAN'T SQUEEZE IS HUGE TAIL IN IT NOW, DOES IT MATTER?

you cannot bench or start a quarterback based on one seriesespecially when whinqui was a big screw up a couple of years agoend of story

I'm not one to say women dont know sports, but if you think Wink should start then CarlyAnne YOU DONT KNOW SPORTS Sorry btu jake is like 100 times better and should start as long as he is able. and when he cant go get LeFors in there, Weinke led us to 1-15 and i for one will not forget that
10/20/2005 12:08:33 AM
10/20/2005 1:21:55 AM
give weinke more credit than that. he went 1-15 as a rookie on a shitty team. he probably isnt a bad quarterback, but he just havent had a chance to prove himself.
10/20/2005 1:26:49 AM
badNFLQB
10/20/2005 1:33:33 AM
dude Weinke was OKAY his first season....as in OKAY like not JP Losman bad...however he is NOT a good QB.his 2nd and 3rd season he was an absolute joke. He couldnt even stand up.His career TD/INT ratio before last week was 11:22.That being said. Delhomme is playing TERRIBLE and he needs to get his head out of his ass. I realize Stephen Davis is awful right now and that Colbert hasn't been getting open enough but he has been killing us with all these INTs. I think only the turnover princess himself has thrown more INTs this year
10/20/2005 1:37:19 AM
jake will be ok
10/20/2005 1:59:44 AM
are you single carlyanne and is there any chance in converting you to a packers fan?
10/20/2005 2:02:48 AM
I am very single, just out of a divorce though.... But the Packers make me throw up all over myself. Although I definitely don't mind a few of their stronger players as they always make for an interesting game. Every once in a while I might cheer for them...(depending upon who they are playing of course).

I don't know if this character Carly Anne is real or not but I just had a girl talked to me about Jake two days ago, similar bullshit Carlyanne is throwing in this thread. I basically reminded my friend about the good old days of QB Musical Chairs known as the panther's season, but bitches don't listen to reason.[Edited on October 20, 2005 at 8:40 AM. Reason : .]

10/20/2005 10:18:07 AM
I for one trust John Fox to know what is best for this team he has done quite well with the team. Fox definetly doesn't think that Weinke should be starting otherwise he would start him. Also why bench your 30 year old QB for a 33 year old QB that has had a neck injury and is on his way out of the league anyways. I am glad Weinke did his job on sunday but i definetly want to keep seeing him holding a clipboard and number 17 out on the field leading us to the promised land
10/20/2005 11:57:11 AM
we definitely dont have anyone thats a better QB than Jake..but that doesnt change the fact that he's been playing poorly and needs to get it turned around quickly... we're in danger of missing the playoffs because two of the Giants/Cowboys/Skins could potentially post better records than us and Atlanta will probably take the division...

jake still threw a lot of 50/50 balls today....steve smith is making his stats look better than he is.obviously, still a good game for Jakus, but he's gotta start limiting those mistakes

11/21/2005 11:57:37 AM
weinke = 1-15he couldn't even make it through that year without being yanked in a couple of games for RANDY FASANI, i hope you remember that one - he went through entire halves with 0.00 qb ratings. if they gave negative ratings, he wouldve had those. all delhomme has done is give you the most exciting season in the history of the franchise in '03, keep the team respectable when everybody but he and moose went down last year, and now is leading a 7-3 football team towards the playoffs. if you're pissed about fantasy, sucks for you, but he hasn't had a bad year overall, especially with the year smith is having, and ps, the chicago bears are one of the best defenses in the leaguethis goes along the same lines as all the crap that gets posted in the fire herb threads after one loss - in conclusion, shut up plz

^^^I don't really care about Jake as far as fantasy goes, but he IS the reason we lost to the Bears. The offensive line didn't play well, but if you know the left side is collapsing, roll to your right, make time for yourself. And on his 2 INT's he had enough time to make a solid throw, he just under-threw both of them very bad and gave them the ball twice inside our redzone. And even if you are pressured, don't force up a bad throw, take the sack.Bears: 13 Panthers: 3take-away the points off turnovers...Bears: 3 Panthers: 3And they wouldn't have had nearly the momentum they had following 2 turnovers and playing with the lead. The defense played well enough to win, even creating a turnover, and Steve Smith played exceptionally well, catching short routes and taking them for more yards and making hard catches on poorly thrown balls. On two plays Steve Smith had the coverage beat, the first one Jake under-threw it and Steve had to stop and adjust to the ball and it got broken up, had he thrown it to him in stride that's a TD(barring Smith dropping an easy catch), and later he had beaten the D but that was Foster's fault, not Delhomme's.We haven't ran well all year, I don't think we've had a runner eclipse 100 yards in any of our games, so blaming a lack of run yesterday isn't exceptable. Now do I think Weinke is the answer? Absolutely not. Do I think Jake CAN lead this team? Of course, he's proven himself in the past. But if he continues this piss-poor play, we won't make the playoffs, and you can count on that. You can't give up 2 INT's a game in your redzone(or for TD) and expect to win a majority of those games. Panther football is mistake-free football, solid defense, and offense doing enough to keep us ahead. So hopefully Jake will remember to pack his brain this week and show up next Sunday ready to play a pretty good Buffalo team(at least at home). Also, the Bears defense is one of the top in the league, but don't forget, the Panthers were the first team they beat with a WINNING RECORD. Just like we're top 5 against the rush, considering we've been playing teams with almost no run game(Minny,GB,Arizona) or with injured backs(Patriots,Detroit,TB).[Edited on November 21, 2005 at 5:01 PM. May LeFors Be With YouI'd say Delhomme is still the QB I'd want. He wins more games than he loses. We played a good Bears team.
11/21/2005 5:28:44 PM
^^he shouldve eaten the ball on the two pick throws, yes - but i have to imagine part of the reason he was trying to force things was the fact that he had absolutely zero time to throw the ball all day. saying the offensive line didn't play well is the understatement of the century. how does 8 sacks sound...even the commentators picked up on it and were relentless about the fact that he had no protection in the ball for any decent stretch at any point throughout the entire game. put peyton manning back there with that sort of blocking and even his numbers would come down - and yes, blaming a 3.0 yards per carry average (good enough for last in the league) is perfectly acceptable, especially when they're able to only rush four guys and still get to the quarterback because they know that's all they need to stop the run if we were to try it. but it's that same offensive line there who's responsible there as well - hopefully he can overcome that and get his mind together like you said next week against a buffalo team who surrendered 48 points this week. i think he will[Edited on November 21, 2005 at 5:56 PM. ^^He shouldn't need 4-5 seconds to throw the ball when we mainly throw it to Steve Smith and all we throw are slants and outs, and the OL has played pretty well the last few weeks and we still couldn't run the ball. Teams are stacking the box against us and forcing us to throw it to beat them because they've seen Jake is a risk taker(ala Jake Plummer) and he can either make you pay big(Minny) or hand you the win(Chicago).I thought the biggest suprise for me was our DL's inability to get to Orton. I expected a ton of pressure and forcing them to throw the ball because Orton isn't exactly a veteran QB or even that good of a QB.But with that said, next week could be rough, especially if we are unable to establish the run. Yeah SD lit them up, but that's SD, they're offense is probably one of the top 5 overall offenses in the league. We should try to run the ball on them(they were ranked 2nd to last at one point) and try to limit the need for Jake to throw the ball. McGahee has been shutout a lot lately, so hopefully we can take away the run and make JP throw the ball and hopefully our CB's can shut down Evans and Moulds.
11/21/2005 8:48:29 PM
i realize it was san diego, (i'd put em 2nd behind the colts in terms of offense) but this (the bills) was a defense hyped to be one of the best in the league at the outset of the season. i know all about mcgahee's exploits, or lack thereof, as he's been a big part of raising the suckage factor for my fantasy team over the last couple of weeks. losman had a good game two weeks ago, and even though he didnt set the world on fire this past week, we still need to get to him more than we got to orton, or another rookie qb (for all intents and purposes) will light us up.delhomme usually follows a trigger happy, impulsive game like this one with a better effort, but i think part of what makes him tick is his lack of inhibition when it comes to making throws - the one that comes to mind are the ones where he would always throw it behind muhammad, and rely on him to come back and make the play, especially the nfc championship game one to go up 7-0. he's like brett favre in that respect, with the gunslinger mentality; he's just not as good. and we used to have the running game to make up for it; i'm not sure we do now, especially with both davis and foster hobbling around and with davis in particular not hitting the line half as hard as he used to. they'll figure out something, though, even if it's bringing back ol' nick for another go-around don't worry about #17 though, he'll be ok
11/21/2005 9:33:12 PM
we dont run the ball enough to get into a rythmit seems like fox is abandoning the running game that got us here
11/21/2005 9:40:30 PM
The line isn't opening enough holes. The yards-per-carry for this team is just plain bad.
