you mean NFL Live?
10/19/2005 4:25:17 PM
drops is definitely a recorded statisticIm not sure where you find it, but it is definitely kept.
10/19/2005 4:56:16 PM
1) Randy Moss- NO one can do what he does. NO ONE.2) Steve Smith- Can turn average catch into a huge gain3) TO- Physical and finds a way to get open4) Chad Johnson- Hes hilarious and good5) Marvin Harrison- Great Wide out but has a great QB to go with him
10/19/2005 5:06:04 PM
you all are forgetting koren robinson. hello
10/19/2005 5:10:10 PM
^Yes let me revise my list.1) Torry Holt2) Jerricho Cotchery3) Koren Robinson4) Philip Rivers (imagine if he got traded to the Jaquars and could be like matt Jones the arkansas QB and become a reciever!)5) Randy Moss
10/19/2005 5:22:02 PM
the best recievers in order are moss, TO, Chad johnson, TD catch leader steve smith and then last of all marvin harrison. Smith could be number 2 or 3 but he needs a few more years of productivity to be the best.
10/19/2005 5:26:29 PM
Stein, I might be a slight Panthers homer when I give Smith his props...you know, biased hometeam cheering...throwing out dumb stats like most touchdowns in the leaguebut you're 10x the homer for the Redskins...I mean Moss is a top 5 receiver no doubt...too bad its Randy Moss
10/19/2005 5:41:40 PM
1 Torry Holt2 Terrell Owens3 Joe Horn4 Hines Ward5 Marvin Harrison6-10 in a scatter are Randy Moss, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin, Jimmy Smith
10/19/2005 6:01:24 PM
Joe Horn better than Randy Moss? wtfoh yeah you're a Saints fan lol[Edited on October 19, 2005 at 6:06 PM. Reason : aw4hywha]
10/19/2005 6:06:26 PM
until this year, Horn had the durabilitywait, nvm, Moss tweaked a hammy again, guess they're what and what now
10/19/2005 6:08:23 PM
10/19/2005 6:27:20 PM
mossowenschad johnsonholta. boldins. smith
10/19/2005 6:45:53 PM
Bunch of Carolina Panthers Homers over here. Good lord.My list. And just to make sure, I mean these are the top 5 receivers in the NFL, not just this year.- Terrel Owens- Randy Moss- Torry Holt- Chad Johnson- Marvin Harrison
10/19/2005 8:39:03 PM
I hate TObut he makes these clowns look like amateurs
10/19/2005 8:44:20 PM
there should be a running back thread as well
10/19/2005 11:31:27 PM
^Stephen Davis, Deshaun Foster, Rod Smart, and Nick Goings will all be in the top 5 just to save you time. Tomlinson is probably the 5th best back after those guys.
10/19/2005 11:35:25 PM
just think of it this way, who would you pay millions of dollars forterrel owens- best all aroundsteve smith - more productive than mossrandy mosswardharrison
10/20/2005 12:12:29 AM
I would not pay millions of dollars for Steve Smith. If i was building a team I would pay millions of dollars for Moss and Owens...then maybe Holt. Moss and Owens are game changers. Holt can be a game changer...but Moss and Owens are just better playmakers. And if I were looking for younger guys to build teams around I would go after the duo in Arizona...Fitzgerald and Boldin. Boldin is a beast and a great possession receiver. Fitzgerald is like Moss and Owens...you just throw it up to him and he gets it. And Calvin Johnson in two years.
10/20/2005 12:16:30 AM
thats crazylet me tell you why smith is better than mossboth score touchdowns, both are fastbut smith can take a hitand he doubles for a great punt returner
10/20/2005 12:19:19 AM
my best friend babysits for steve smith's kids...his house is amazing.and hes definitely one of the best receivers in the league.
10/20/2005 12:21:39 AM
You are smoking crack if you think Steve Smith is a better receiver than Randy Moss.Just to break it down to basics...What are wide receivers suppose to do?? Catch the football. That's it...bottom line.If you put Steve Smith and Randy Moss against the same DB with the same QB...who is going to have the better chance of coming down the ball?? Randy Moss. End of discussion.I'm glad Smith can take a hit. Maybe he can be a tackling dummy when he retires.
10/20/2005 12:30:55 AM
10/20/2005 12:44:48 AM
^well he is the best reciever this year so far.
10/20/2005 12:47:15 AM
moss is pretty much a long ball threatsmith can go long, post, latteral, and all thatits like choosing between a nice sandwich and buffetill take the buffet please
10/20/2005 12:49:56 AM
How bout it's like choosing between lobster and steak and a ten-ten buffet.A ten-ten buffet is great when you're starving and you don't have a lot of money to spend. But when you have unlimited cash flow, you're going to get the lobster and steak every day.And Moss and Owens can run every kind of route that Steve Smith does and run them just as well. You just seem the get more deep balls because they are better at getting deep balls. If Steve Smith was a better deep ball threat, then they would throw it to him down there more. But the fact that the DBs are just as tall as he is doesn't bode well for a "throw it up there and he'll come down with it" kind of throw.

now im hungry[Edited on October 20, 2005 at 1:17 AM. Reason : .]
10/20/2005 1:16:56 AM
^^ im sorry but you are wrongSteve Smith's touchdown against Arizona last week only one other WR in the league could have done...(Dante Hall)Randy Moss is not elusive in the open field anymore. He is almost strictly a fly route guy now. He averages 24 yards a catch and thats tremendous, but he only catches 4-5 balls a game.He IS better than Steve Smith but not by much. At this point in time you can contain Moss by double teaming him every play... however no one has really found a way to contain Steve Smith yet this year....[Edited on October 20, 2005 at 1:17 AM. Reason : a]
10/20/2005 1:17:13 AM
^ the man knows a good buffet when he sees it
10/20/2005 1:20:53 AM
Steve Smith isn't the deep ball threat Moss is, but he can go up and get the ball if he has too.He showed it in the playoff game against Dallas in '04 on the way to the Superbowl. Jake lobbed it up from about 35 yards out, Smitty jumped 37 feet in the air and came down with the ball in endzone, abusing the helpless DB. That's sure as hell taking a "throw the ball up and he'll come down with it" mentality.
10/20/2005 1:27:21 AM
Both Moss and Steve Smith are capable of creating 60 yard TD'sThe difference is with Moss you have to complete a low percentage deep ball.WIth Steve Smith a simple slant route can do the trick.
10/20/2005 1:32:34 AM
I couldn't decide their order..so this isn't ranked its just my top 5.Randy MossSteve SmithTOKoren RobinsonHines Ward
10/20/2005 6:52:13 AM
KOREN ROBINSON???WTF!!IS HE EVEN PLAYING THIS YEAR...DRUNKARD?
10/20/2005 12:09:43 PM
10/20/2005 12:13:50 PM
I remember when Anquan used to throw 60 yard bomb plays while he was at Florida State. Man needs to be involved in some reverse flea flickers.
10/20/2005 12:16:36 PM
um they already are badass...McCown threw for 400 yards last game... what's he need to make you happy 500?
10/20/2005 12:28:15 PM
I remember thinking how stupid Anquan Boldin was for going into the draft so early.Wasn't I wrong
10/20/2005 1:08:07 PM
I remember when he got drafted late because teams passed up on him being a good WR since those dual threat players before him have sucked it up.I'm sure there are a good number of teams that are sorry.
10/20/2005 1:10:37 PM
1. Moss2. Holt3. T.O.4. Harrison5. C. Johnsonrounding out top 10 in any order would be Ward, Fitzgerald, Boldin, Smith, and Santana Moss (just cause he has bailed out my fantasy team a couple of weeks)
10/20/2005 3:31:54 PM
10/20/2005 3:42:19 PM
10/20/2005 4:49:43 PM
I would put Moss or T.O. at #1, and the other one of them at #2however Smith is having a better year than both of them so far
10/20/2005 4:56:52 PM
^can't disagree with that. I just think too many people on this thread are putting too much weight on this season (along with Panther bias) in determining who are the top WRs in the league. Santana Moss is also having a better year than TO and Randy.
10/20/2005 5:13:39 PM
10/20/2005 7:10:29 PM
#1 Moss#2 TO#3 Harrison#4 holt#5 JAVON WALKER
10/20/2005 7:13:52 PM
Walker is putting up huge numbers this year
10/20/2005 7:17:54 PM
Anyone got a problem with Steve Smith now? He's got a good shot to break the all time record for rec. yards in a season (1,848).He's either #1 or #2 now probably along with TOwens...and btw, his one handed catch today alone was enough to throw out the "no hands" myth[Edited on October 30, 2005 at 9:49 PM. Reason : a]
10/30/2005 9:48:57 PM
Alexander from Denver made a one-handed catch, too
10/30/2005 9:50:28 PM
his one handed catch was placed at his shoulder pad. the one Smith drew in was thrown 5 yards past him yet he still stretched out and reeled it in.
10/30/2005 9:51:34 PM
yeah Steve Smiths catch today was absolutely sick...and the fact that he almost crawled in from the ten yard line on his hands.... my godive never seen anything like this guy before.... he is singlehandedly dismantling NFL defenses...imagine if we had a #2 WR or a healthy RB.... or if we still had Kris Jenkins...
