rflong how are you going to say that a jones' season was a fluke. He is one of the best center field players in the league. He has been good ever sense he hit that homerun his rookie year. give him some credit. also we still have chipper and i predict that he will stay healthy this year and produce. he really cares about hte braves organization.[/b][b]

normally i wouldn't worry, but no leo = big worry
12/11/2005 12:28:05 AM
^^He is young, and was an All Star 2 years ago. I would hope they could atleast get something better than that for him.
12/11/2005 4:23:25 PM
yeah and he was mediocre for the before the all-star break last year, then erstad ran over him and he hit like .100what have you done for me lately
12/11/2005 5:25:34 PM
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5165870Looks like the Time Warner might finally sell the Braves. Please God please make this happen. Please let Ted Turner find enough money to buy them back. Man I hate time warner so much.
12/14/2005 12:21:40 PM
PLEASE let this happen.
12/14/2005 2:01:51 PM
AWESOMEi hope they just get rid of turner south and put all the games on tbs where they belong[Edited on December 14, 2005 at 2:30 PM. Reason : ]
12/14/2005 2:28:56 PM
^ Agreed especially because where I live, we don't get turner south. I want TBS showing 100+ games like they used to (not going to happen because of the ESPN and Fox contracts, but it's okay to imagine).
12/14/2005 5:01:24 PM
I get Turner South, so it's not really a problem for me. But when I lived in Raleigh, it sucked not to have TS because they showed so many of the games on it.
12/14/2005 5:22:50 PM
Hi guys. I'll post again in this thread in early October. Until then... best of luck this year!

There was also an article in the Atlanta paper that mentioned Arthur Blank has shown some interest in buying the Braves.
12/15/2005 9:32:10 PM
^ That would be awesome if he bought the Braves to go along with the Falcons. He has done a great job re-energizing the Falcons franchise and is not afraid to spend his Home Depot fortune to make a club better.

spring training time is here
2/14/2006 2:37:34 PM
Still don't have a closer although Devine, Boyer, Reitsma (please no), and a new dude named Baker seemed to be the most likely candidates going into spring training.
2/14/2006 3:25:08 PM
we're gonna be stuck with reitsma until one of the young guys can take over
2/16/2006 12:21:46 PM
They will do what they usually do. Use the first 50 games or so to see what they got, who works well where, etc. I imagine they will give all these guys a try at closer and see who has the most success.
2/16/2006 12:46:36 PM
nah i think its reitsma's until he loses it[Edited on February 16, 2006 at 12:49 PM. Reason : ]

Jones and Francoeur are playing for TEAM USA in the WBC
2/16/2006 12:59:11 PM
Nevermind, checked atlantabraves.comAlso found thisBut with Farnsworth now wearing Yankees pinstripes, the Braves will enter camp without having made a decision regarding who will be their closer. Chris Reitsma has been declared the favorite to win what will certainly be the most heated position battle in this year's camp. If the Braves determine that Reitsma isn't the man best suited for the role, they could choose to make a trade or decide that either Joey Devine, Oscar Villarreal or Blaine Boyer is a better option[Edited on February 16, 2006 at 2:56 PM. Can't wait for the season to start. Such a solid team, even moreso than last year at this time. Tim Hudson wins 21. Mark it down. Joey Devine ends the season as closer.
2/19/2006 7:56:30 PM
ugh, reitsma again? didn't they learn anything last year?
2/19/2006 8:03:22 PM
alot can change in a yearlook at Kolb...honestly
2/20/2006 1:02:34 AM
reitsma will be fine. He was hurt when he blew the job and he pitched too many innings. He's prepared this time. He didn't expect Kolb to suck a nut
2/20/2006 12:59:56 PM
Is Joey D gonna be on the 25 man or be back in the farms?and you guys are flaming the fuck out of the Mets thread for no reason. I'm going to make it a point to come back to TWW to flame the every living fuck out of you guys come the first week in October. Just a warning...[Edited on March 3, 2006 at 10:22 AM. Reason : f]

^^^ I am trying to not troll the Mets board. I was just trying to post some random Mets news in there. As for Devine, Cox keeps talking good things about him so I really think they are planning on having him in the pen on opening day.

3/3/2006 2:49:24 PM
Jonathan Schuerholtz I think. He went to Auburn and was friends with my cousin who went there. She said he really wasn't that great in college so I have been surprised that he's been able to improve enough to get a camp invite and stick in AA and possible AAA.
3/3/2006 3:07:49 PM
yeah he's been struggling in the minors, hasn't really shown much improvementi guess having your dad as GM is a good thing though

^ Best catching prospect in baseball according to alot of "experts". McCann may end up like Estrada if Salt-man keeps developing.
3/3/2006 4:34:43 PM
that seems to be the word on the streetfirst time i've seen Salty live though, looks like he'll be something in another year or so
