^ while I agree with DG, I aggree with the GOP fella a tad bit more. The 'its a joke dont take it seriously' line is a load of shit. Because nearly everyone that watches that show DOES take it seriously and agrees with what Stewart is making fun of.Its pretty much a show designed so Anti-Bush people can go feel good about themselves and giggle without any threat of having to hear the other side.

^I never said blame Stewart did I? I have no problem with him and he has made me laugh quite a bit.I am more blaming the people who watch the show religously that are quick to spout off garbage about how its just a comedy show.

If you watch TV for news religously then I think you're missing a lot. There is no such thing as "fair" news, "spinnless" news, or "unbaised" news. All news is opinionated whether you detect it or not. Have you ever put your intellectual cap on and listend to some of the experts that professional news channels put on? They don't really say anything. I'd argue that, in fact, they give me less usefull information then even the Daily Show. You should never rely on secondary news sources for information, only a brief rundown of current affairs. The key difference here between the Daily Show and every other news show on Cable television is that the Daily Show doesn't take itself seriously and blantantly spins reports while other programs subtly try to do so.

^ I completely agreeWhat irritates me is that WAY too many people watch it and allow their opinions to be influenced by it. Then use the 'its only a comedy show' as a cop out.TDS has way more pull and influence than it should.imo of course.this is why i just dont watch the news

Yea I don't think you can get owned in an argument and pull the "ha ha its just a comedy show" card. You might as well just smile and say "TROLLED"

I admit.Him trying to be serious is nowhere near as funny as O'Rielly trying to state "facts."

Since when does satire have to be defended? It's satire.

if you people actually watched the show you wouldnt call him partisan. he hates partisanship. he applauds all instances where people cross party lines. there are many examples.also, hes been insulting kerry and has said at least three times he regrets being so supportive of such a week candidate.
