it happened after all the republicans got togethor and poured mercury into the waterways
8/20/2005 7:48:47 PM
Well all that mercury was just sitting around going to waste, we had to do something with it.
8/20/2005 7:52:11 PM
you could have played with it in your handsits funi wish we could still do that, god damn liberals scared of getting cancer

now, we all know we can attack him by pointing out they were all revolutionaries, which is about as left-wing as can be, because a conservative wishes to keep the status quo. I think he's trying to say the founding fathers would be conservative if they were alive today.but please, remember the context[Edited on August 21, 2005 at 8:40 AM. Reason : .]

oh no, taxes and gov't oppression are so weighty that Joe Republican will throw tea into boston harbor. and actually conservatives/Republicans who don't like the status quo are what we call reactionaries.and TCD, I don't want to use the definitions I learned in Poli Sci 201 last year, I feel I have to use them correctly. but I myself am a populist. aaronburro is giving a bad name to conservatism, however, or maybe just an idiot altogether - he just blathers on so much, I can't tell.
8/21/2005 12:58:08 PM
so you would say that conservatives don't really have specific political tendencies. you'd say that they are nothing more than OMFG DONT CHANGE A GOD DAMNED THING!!! thank you. you are now the dumbest person in the soapbox. and i am including salisburyboy
8/21/2005 1:02:41 PM
actually, wishing to keep things pretty much the same is a polical tendency. of course, if things change, they'll react to change things back to the way they were also, this one of your other problems:
8/21/2005 1:12:12 PM
i really wish I could boil every political party down into one simple statement. it would really make everything so great
8/21/2005 1:21:12 PM
i didn't equate political tendencies with a political party, you ass
8/21/2005 1:22:34 PM
philosophy, then. still the same difference, dumbass.but anyway, tell me this: how is throwing off a gov't that you've been a part of for 200 years maintaining the status quo? how is ending slavery maintaining the status quo? how is changing social security maintaining the status quo? how is ending the income tax maintaining the status quo?
8/21/2005 1:25:59 PM
it's not if you've been alive since Washingtonbut I have to get lunch
8/21/2005 1:30:21 PM
aka i won.
8/21/2005 1:33:49 PM
I enjoy how aaronburro has the most primative understanding of the revolutionary war. OMG IT WAS BECAUSE OF TAXES.

i don't give a fuck about the democrats. They have no guiding light. Greens nukka. That be where we at.
8/21/2005 3:27:58 PM
OK so what exactly are the Greens now? Surely you don't consider them "progressive" do you?
8/21/2005 3:42:38 PM
The Greens might as well be the fucking lollipop guild.
8/21/2005 3:46:15 PM
we are extemely progressivewe may be the lollipop guild, but at least we have a guiding light. The democrats have no direction and the Republicans might as well change their party platform to "We love George Bush."

8/21/2005 10:35:50 PM
I like how now we're judging political parties by whether or not you can make soap opera tie-ins to them.
8/22/2005 2:42:56 AM
^^ if by "getting pwnt" you mean "smackr addressed only one of my points and then strawman-ed the rest" then OK.
8/22/2005 7:57:05 AM
8/22/2005 3:59:11 PM
exactly what I said, right aaronburro?
8/22/2005 4:25:54 PM
revolution is a principle of oppressed peopleit's beyond the sphere of conservative vs. liberal
8/22/2005 4:28:41 PM
I tend to think of myself as fairly conservative and I am all about the motherfucking revolution. I can't wait for the shit to hit the fan.
8/22/2005 4:41:48 PM

When it comes, rich white people will be the first ones I shoot.I want equality of means. It appears to me obvious that acheiving that end through shifting government programs could take forever, or at least a very long time.So if the only way to acheive it is through measured revolution, maybe we can talk.[Edited on August 22, 2005 at 5:15 PM. 8/22/2005 8:05:31 PM
^I think you're right, I'm probably just taking you wrong. I take it in the Marxist says, means <=> wealth.I'm for equality of opportunity, I don't care if someone's got more than I do.
8/22/2005 11:35:49 PM
equal opportunity? Is that where a machine creates its own power?
8/23/2005 7:58:46 AM
equal opportunity will never exist, and probably shouldn't exist

my best friend in response to this and my chiding him for taking advantadge of a gov't subsidized public higher education system (masters program @ UF)responded by saying "my education is subsidized the same way toyota subsidizes cars"he then explained that he is taking loans to pay for the school and he'll be paying those loans backi don't have the heart to tell him his in-state tuition is only like 30-40% of what his education actually costsi do have the heart to tell him he is a dumbass
8/23/2005 1:11:45 PM
Only an idiot refuses free money. That said, we hope that taking advantage of the system while at the same time condemning it will assault the sensibilities of voters enough to either eliminate the programs ("ungrateful swine are making chimps out of us, put a stop to it!") or encourage the collapse of the system ("We're out of money, the people are in revolt, the governor has been murdered by the tax-payers!").
