I see the philosophical argument of this. I agree, there's always hope a person can change. But, practicality beats principle as far as I'm concerned. To me, this isn't so much a philosophical issue as it is an argument over risk management.

I don't see much advice in this thread. With old school, I thought there might be some logical discussion. Alas, it's the same old shit. I think the key factor here is the fact that the sex offender hasn't moved in yet, correct? If your friend can act before that, he has a lot more options. Your friend should get help from his neighbors with children, and go around the neighborhood with a petition and get signatures. Then present it to the home owner in a civil manner. Explain your concerns. Offer to find someone else to rent the property, find someone. I would even go as far as to pay for classified ads myself, or w/ the help of the neighbors. More advice, less bitching at each other.

There ain't no logical discussion in Old School because even the old school Wolf Web was some bullshit. It's all the same stale personalities up in this motherfucker, and the rest of us like to start shit here because it's a stupid fucking board for stupid fucking users who are hung up on the stupid fucking past, a stupid fucking carrot to dangle in front of you stupid motherfuckers so you won't realize that all the changes the site NEEDS and that we've REQUESTED OVER AND OVER haven't been made.

^^Thanks for your advice, Matt. Unfortunately, there's no method of quantifying maturity level, so alas, I'm the control measure.
