Anyone know how long it will be tomorrow? I' massuming it starts at 1...but when will it be done? Guessing they're taping several shows at once?
10/1/2005 1:27:57 AM
when does the tailgate start?
10/1/2005 7:37:07 AM
Got back...saw three games. The dude from state played and so did a girl from nccu and a guy from unc. They didn't play against eachother though. Should i say who won?
10/1/2005 4:56:07 PM
Well they didn't say we shouldn't...I don't think...But I guess I'm not sure...Was a BLAST though, Trebek is actually pretty cool in person. He came out into the audience and talked with us/answered questions during breaks and stuff. Also, the set they had for NC State was really really cool looking. They're airing something about it on ABC on Nov 5...and then those 3 shows come on Nov 7/8/9.
10/1/2005 5:24:10 PM
Yeah, Trebek was pretty cool.
10/1/2005 6:01:05 PM
Did anyone go today? If so, how long did you stand in line and did you get good seats? There is no info on the website. Doors open at 4:45 but I am wondering how long to be in line to get decent seats. Anyone have an idea from today?Trying to get a good spot for my 88 year old cousin that loves the show and we brought him from DC to watch it.
10/1/2005 8:08:22 PM
we were pretty far towards the back of the line, but they lead us up close. i think it's just a crapshoot where you sit. i dont' think it has much to do with when you get there. also: we stood in line waiting to get in for a pretty long time. at least 30 minutes.
10/1/2005 9:07:24 PM
Today, doors opened at 12. We got there at 11:30, and didn't have to wait at all. We were promptly lead to the RedDot VIP waiting section til ~12:10 then were seated. And yeah, it's a crapshoot... I guess when you get to the waiting area, get as close to the door as you can.But they definitely have enough seating!!
10/1/2005 9:27:59 PM
Do you think we should all stick together and try to enter or could two of us go and save seats for my cousin and have him come a bit later? I am trying to keep him from having to wait or stand too long. We have four tickets. Two could save seats and my cousins could come a bit closer to the time. A half hour doesn't sound like to0 bad of a wait, but then again, I'm not 88- yet
10/1/2005 9:36:54 PM
It's okay to use those Red-dot VIP tickets for non-students, right? If not, I'm in trouble. Unless they allow us to sit somewhere else with those tickets.
10/1/2005 10:02:37 PM
^^ That might be really rough with how they do the seating (But might be able to be worked out, just ask one of the people when you get there)...They try to pack you in there as soon as you get into the auditorium (although you will not have a problem at all getting seats together as long as you're with your whole party when you first go in). The nice thing about the waiting area is that there are alot of seats to sit down while you wait, so hopefully the standing thing won't be too much of a problem. (I saw alot of the older people today take advantage of that) The longest he'll really have to stand is when everyone starts lining up to actually go in, and the total wait time there is ~10 minutes, I think. If you sit closer to the door, maybe shorter. I would just arrive maybe 30 minutes before the doors open, so you can get a good seat for him to sit and wait. But I know it will be worth it for you guys! Hope you have funAnd ^, yeah - there were PLENTY of non students in the red-dot section. In fact, I think the sheet you get with the tickets says if you (the student) can't make it, give the tickets to someone else. The Jeopardy people really want the stadium as full as can be... so you definitely won't have a problem.[Edited on October 1, 2005 at 10:11 PM. Reason : ^]

Good. Thanks.
10/1/2005 10:17:31 PM
dude from NCSU is in the finals. He is the only one from the area schools. Trebek said we might actually have the chance at the championship, but obviously he has not seen any NCSU sporting event.
10/2/2005 1:18:20 AM
Haha. Damn it, though. I have tickets to the semifinals, so I won't get to see him until TV. He's riding that home-crowd advantage.
10/2/2005 1:38:27 AM
I'm going today it starts at 145 I think, but how long will it last?
10/2/2005 11:01:11 AM
It depends on how many games you are there to watch. We watched three...got there at 12...sat down by 1245ish...left at 330.
10/2/2005 11:09:02 AM
How many can you watch? Aren't there two ticketed tapings today? Do they clear it out after the first taping?
10/2/2005 11:34:15 AM
They tape 5 shows per day. First group sees 3 games, second group sees 2. Yeah, it's two separate ticket things.
10/2/2005 1:16:09 PM
we sat like 7 rows back from the front next to the Maryland girls parentsbut we didn't know it was the Maryland girl's parentsso before we knew i was saying to my friend: "lets boo the Maryland girl!" because she had a bitchy attitude on stage and she' was from Maryland of course and then before the taping where she was playing the people on stage asked where her parents were in the audience and when we found out i couldn't help but smile
10/2/2005 5:28:06 PM
how did the state guy do?
10/2/2005 5:49:07 PM
he did goodbut in the end, he just didn't wager enough after they were done he seemed pretty pissed at himselfgave a good showing and represented us well I think
10/2/2005 5:51:27 PM
when is our guy on tv?
10/2/2005 6:30:58 PM
the one's i went to were for the semi-finalsso the wednesday of the second week of the tournament is when he'll be onforgot which date it is[Edited on October 2, 2005 at 6:33 PM. Reason : november teens]
10/2/2005 6:32:59 PM
he won the quarter-final round as well. so he should be in one of the earlier eps as well.
10/2/2005 7:14:55 PM
Man, he screwed himself. I know he's going to be kicking himself for a while. Still, $10,000 is a nice chunk of change. However, I don't get his wagering strategy. There is no difference in the money given to 2nd and 3rd in the semifinals, so why not go for broke in final Jeopardy if you're behind? You have to assume you're going to get it right. You can't rely on the other guy to miss it. I also don't get the other guy's strategy though. Weird wagers for both.
10/2/2005 7:20:19 PM
the UAB guy's parents were in front of ushis mom was all anxious and freakin outanyways, i got on tv at least twice b/c they showed his parents for the daily double he got and they showed them at the end when he wonso i'm probably smiling and giving wolfpack signs while his mom's having a heart attack
10/2/2005 7:24:19 PM
So who won it all? I'm going to bet on Stanford.

Fuck Jeopardy, fuck them up their stupid asses. They take my one chance to do something of note with my life and throw it in my face. I made it through all their little rounds and they don't even so much as send me a letter telling me "I'm sorry, we've decided to go in another direction."/rant.
