I tried to set my DVR last night, but ESPN doesn't have their programming updated yet, and didn't bother setting a timer recording. Hopefully it is good to go when I get off work.

mehprolly just an off day
8/11/2005 9:50:09 AM
^^yea if it is one thing that PRiv has it is game smarts...If Jay Davis had 1/4 of his decision making skills he might be decent.
8/11/2005 10:36:46 AM
I've made it a point to not say those two names in the same sentence. It's disrespectful
8/11/2005 10:41:18 AM
I personally can't believe that anyone from NC state could view what Rivers did as "holding out"The chargers in their yearly tradition tried to screw their number 1 draft pick because he has no NFL experience...(something they should have done with Leaf a few years back)Ever since then it isn't even holding out...it is their front office being worthless bastardsThey are the ones to blame for Rivers not playing last year, Brees wasn't THAT sharp at the beginning of the year...I still think Rivers could have stole the job from him if he were at camp the first day if the pricks in suits would have just given him a reasonable 5-10 mill and bonus's for goals other than 5 superbowls in 6 years...
8/11/2005 11:12:51 AM
^ completely agree.
8/11/2005 11:24:10 AM
look for philip to connect with wr vincent jackson tonight -- supposedly they've been lightin' it up in camp (when phil's not throwing to the defense, of course)i can't wait, go chargers
8/11/2005 11:25:52 AM
^^^ How can you view what Philip Rivers did as anything other than "holding out". They offered him a contract and he said "thats not good enough I want more". No matter how you look at whether you are a Rivers fan or not HE HELD OUT because he wanted #1 like money (over 44 million) and the Chargers didnt want to pay him over 40. SO instead of signing and getting the starting job (possibly still have to see if he is any good) he worked a whole million dollars out of the Chargers and didn't give himself a chance at starting.
8/11/2005 1:02:13 PM
^You do realize NFL contracts are about more than just numbers, right? Heard of incentives?
8/11/2005 1:06:45 PM
$5 million bonus for 4 pro bowls and 4 superbowls in the first 4 years. An additional $6 million for 5 pro bowls and 5 superbowls in the first 5 years. An additional $7 million for 6 pro bowls and 6 superbowls in the first 6 years.or something.

8/11/2005 1:11:11 PM
he is now under contractmove onhe is playing tonight
8/11/2005 1:28:13 PM
Hopefully they keep the starting O-Line in to protect his arse....
8/11/2005 2:24:40 PM
8/11/2005 2:35:11 PM
The contract he turned down was the biggest in rookie history. The problem was that it was like 60 million, but barely any of it was guaranteed. He signed for just over 40 i think, but a lot more was guaranteed...a little more insurance for him possibly sucking ass. and yes..its over now...the mofo is rich...and we sit here to argue about it.
8/11/2005 2:42:36 PM
Getting closer!
8/11/2005 6:37:42 PM
packers-chargers getting ready to start. hopefully phil will get alot of pt.
8/11/2005 8:03:20 PM
I hope he can beat out the guy with the coco puff stuck to his face
8/11/2005 8:05:03 PM
Hopefully Drew's knees go out and Rivers throws for 18 TD and rushes for 10 more while completing 40 of 42 passes.
8/11/2005 8:06:14 PM
INT!
8/11/2005 8:12:50 PM

8/11/2005 8:13:34 PM
The announcers telling the truth?
8/11/2005 8:13:49 PM
i don't know, but the guy who caught it 7 yards deep, hesitated, and then brought it out to the 12 is gonna hear words from some coaches
8/11/2005 8:13:59 PM

8/11/2005 8:14:43 PM

8/11/2005 8:21:20 PM
0 for 1
8/11/2005 8:39:24 PM
hmmm, has yet to throw anything over 8 yards... wonder if they have cut down the playbook for him for some reason...
8/11/2005 9:02:18 PM
All the training camp reports have consistently said that Philip goes longer better and more often than Brees does.
8/11/2005 9:06:12 PM
pretty much everything he did tonight so far was a little dump off or screen to the RB
8/11/2005 9:07:08 PM
Looks like Mazzone-esque play calling...When did he become a skin head? That hater...
8/11/2005 9:14:00 PM
build up his confidence maybe?
8/11/2005 9:14:09 PM
with the play calling this quarter i feel like i'm watchin Davis last year [Edited on August 11, 2005 at 9:16 PM. Reason : s]
8/11/2005 9:15:52 PM
He looks a lot thinner too. That wife of his ain't feedin' him.
8/11/2005 9:15:55 PM
hate to say it, but he just doesnt look "right", no zip on his passes, really pushing them (more than he usually does), like he isnt just letting loose
8/11/2005 9:24:05 PM
but that one looked good
8/11/2005 9:24:53 PM
that last pass was better... he'll get there... td before the half. you heard it here first.[Edited on August 11, 2005 at 9:27 PM. Reason : official's fault. whenever they can fuck the wolfpack, they will.]
8/11/2005 9:25:04 PM

8/11/2005 9:25:27 PM
YAY A FIRST DOWN
8/11/2005 9:27:38 PM
Probably the same ref incarnate who took away our TD against UNC.
8/11/2005 9:27:45 PM
Damn, that was a nice run.Would've been even better if they had set the goddamn ball right.
8/11/2005 9:28:26 PM
FUCK YOU REF
8/11/2005 9:28:34 PM
Darren Sproles is a really tough running back to play with in a system that throws to backs...
8/11/2005 9:28:52 PM
He looks good though... he's making good decisions. Now I figure one or two of us can find brees and take out his knees tonya harding-style...who's up?
8/11/2005 9:29:31 PM
TAKE A QUARTERBACK TO SCHOOL
8/11/2005 9:31:05 PM
Yeah, he seemed to be more at ease during that last series, starting to settle in a little. We'll have to see how the third quarter goes.
