I can't wait.

I've already got the DVR set.

I tried to set my DVR last night, but ESPN doesn't have their programming updated yet, and didn't bother setting a timer recording. Hopefully it is good to go when I get off work.

Quote :
"From Chargers Camp.....In the final team drill, the defense started their frenzy when Stephen Cooper tipped Rivers’ pass and Markus Curry nearly had and interception until his hard fall caused the ball to pop out. Although the offense would make plays with receptions by Vincent Jackson and Darren Sproles, the defense would have the last laugh – literally.

Quentin Jammer was the first to record an interception, and the frenzy officially began. Clinton Hart was next in line. His interception not only excited his teammates, but brought the fans to their feet. After Rivers threw the next ball away, the defenders were taunting Rivers’ every move. The taunting apparently worked because two plays later, Hanik Milligan came inches away from the third interception of the day. With the defense clearly dominating, Schottenheimer insisted that the drill continue.

But Jonathan Cox and the defense insisted that the drill and practice should end. Cox recorded an interception as well, which instigated the defense to run on the field to meet Cox and rally around the former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket. The celebration was a fitting end to practice. Today the defense called the shots, but there’s always tomorrow.
"

sounds like he is having a tough time in training camp....with his personality he should learn from this and bounce back

^^yea if it is one thing that PRiv has it is game smarts...If Jay Davis had 1/4 of his decision making skills he might be decent.

I personally can't believe that anyone from NC state could view what Rivers did as "holding out"
The chargers in their yearly tradition tried to screw their number 1 draft pick because he has no NFL experience...(something they should have done with Leaf a few years back)
Ever since then it isn't even holding out...it is their front office being worthless bastards
They are the ones to blame for Rivers not playing last year, Brees wasn't THAT sharp at the beginning of the year...I still think Rivers could have stole the job from him if he were at camp the first day if the pricks in suits would have just given him a reasonable 5-10 mill and bonus's for goals other than 5 superbowls in 6 years...

^^^ How can you view what Philip Rivers did as anything other than "holding out". They offered him a contract and he said "thats not good enough I want more". No matter how you look at whether you are a Rivers fan or not HE HELD OUT because he wanted #1 like money (over 44 million) and the Chargers didnt want to pay him over 40. SO instead of signing and getting the starting job (possibly still have to see if he is any good) he worked a whole million dollars out of the Chargers and didn't give himself a chance at starting.

$5 million bonus for 4 pro bowls and 4 superbowls in the first 4 years.
An additional $6 million for 5 pro bowls and 5 superbowls in the first 5 years.
An additional $7 million for 6 pro bowls and 6 superbowls in the first 6 years.

or something.

The contract he turned down was the biggest in rookie history. The problem was that it was like 60 million, but barely any of it was guaranteed. He signed for just over 40 i think, but a lot more was guaranteed...a little more insurance for him possibly sucking ass.

and yes..its over now...the mofo is rich...and we sit here to argue about it.

Hopefully Drew's knees go out and Rivers throws for 18 TD and rushes for 10 more while completing 40 of 42 passes.

All the training camp reports have consistently said that Philip goes longer better and more often than Brees does.

Yeah, he seemed to be more at ease during that last series, starting to settle in a little.

We'll have to see how the third quarter goes.
