tried to read it. thought it was mighty uninteresting. then again dragonlance is about the only fantasy ive liked that has been written anytime too recently.

LOTR, thomas covenant, Shannara series, dragonlance are some of my fav fantasies.

I actually dressed up are Harry Potter for my school's Fall Festival a few years back. I did it just to piss off my former headmaster, who is a religious zealot who thinks that Harry Potter is the work of the devil. LOL. How I pity him. I have to admit, my costume truly kicked ass.

The key is WalMart. They get like 1 million copies per store and they sell them for 16 dollars or something really cheap. I hate WalMart, but they are going to get my money for Harry Potter 6.

Has anyone ever had one of the earlier books delivered to them from Amazon? I'm starting to worry that I might not get mine on Saturday like they promised. Are they pretty good about getting it to you on time?

I dont' read these books, but I just read in the news that some chain in Canadia fucked up and starting selling these today. About 16 of them got sold before they realized what they'd done.

They're now recalling all the copies sold and promising an autographed copy in return (on the proper release date)

The preorder folks will get their book on Saturday. Knowing the Fed-Ex people though, the delivery guy will put the failed delivery notice on your door and run away before he has to do any real work. Last time I had Fed-Ex deliver, I had to chase the stupid guy back to his truck ( he was running from me) to get my fucking package.

i did that, the thing that sucks is that i'm in atlanta all week... the fed-ex dude better leave it on the porch b/c i have someone who is going over to the house a few times that day to get anything he leaves...

That $16 Wal-Mart price is just about the same as what it'll cost at release anywhere else (Barnes and Noble, etc). They're all selling it for 40% off at release.

I just received an email from Amazon.com...here is what it said:

Quote :
"Hello from Amazon.com.

We're happy to let you know that we've begun preparing your order for
"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" for delivery.

You should have the book(s) in your hands no later than 7:00 p.m. in
your time zone on Saturday, July 16. Most books will be delivered by
U.S. Mail, either with your regular mail delivery or in a separate,
special mail delivery. Some orders may be delivered by UPS.

Because our carriers are delivering hundreds of thousands of books on
that day, we do ask that you wait until 7:00 p.m. before contacting
customer service if you haven't received your order.

Although we're not requiring a signature, we still recommend that
someone be home to accept the package, as the driver may not leave it on
your doorstep if they don't feel it's safe to do so.

You'll receive our usual shipment confirmation e-mail after your package
leaves our fulfillment center.

Thanks for shopping at Amazon.com, and happy reading!
