^^ yeeaaah...I absolutely did not get that at all. My understanding was that the razorwire guy and the fire/wall combo guy were totally different victims in the scheme of the madman's game. With Zep, Adam and the doc as the latest. That's not to say you're wrong and I'm right or vice versa, but I totally did not get that from it, and I probably wouldn't no matter how often I watched.

^^no - it was obvious from near the beginning of the movie. this isn't a damned "whodoneit" so i'm sick of hearing people tell me their reasons for hating Saw was b/c it was too "predictable"no fucking way anyone guessed the twists that happened or could possibly have known how the victims would react to their "tests." why would you try to guess? who cares? that's not the point of the movie - to guess who the masked man is. the audience is more omniscient than ANY of the characters are throughout the entire movie ( besides the cancer patient obviously ). we all know the cancer patient is responsible for this but just aren't sure about the details. the revelation or whatever that the audience will learn by the end of the film, is the reasons WHY all of these acts were committed by the patient. that's all. MY GOD THE CAMERA ANGLE SHIFTED TO FOCUS ON THE BODY LAYING IN AN X FORMATION IN THE CENTER OF THE ROOM, RIGHT AFTER THE 2 VICTIMS NOTED THEY SHOULD LOOK FOR THE "x marks the spot" mentioned in their clue.[Edited on June 13, 2005 at 2:29 PM. Well you must be some kind of genious, because out of everyone I have talked to about the movie, none of them knew right off the bat that the cancer patient was the madman. And the X in the clue was not for the guy, it was for the X on the wall.

i'm flattered but i just know how i am w/ movies & i probably paid far more attention to specific details than most people ( i just saw this movie once, last nite ). of course the x was on the wall but it was also another clue for the body being something they should further pay attention to....... why couldn't 2 x's be in the room? the cancer issues were ALL over the movie. the masked man obvious had easy access to lethal dosages of opiates ( he used for the victim who's stomach was cut open by the druggie for the key ) & he made anti-smoking remarks on the very clues to the doctor.i'm going to imdb boards

i just saw this, and i liked it, but i'm confused about something. since the killer recited his little line about "appreciating life" to adam at the end, why the hell did he leave him chained up like that

adam tried to kill the jigsaw dude with the gun, therefore he wasn't appreciating life
