May 3rd, 2005 - Weezer "Weezer" (aka The Red Album)
3/4/2005 2:27:05 PM
rivers needs to get dumped by some more chicks so he can write another quality album.
3/4/2005 3:53:05 PM
yeah fuck this green and red shitGIVE ME A BLACKERTONOR ORANGERTONWHATEVER
3/4/2005 4:34:32 PM
3/5/2005 4:32:40 AM
can't wait for these guys to tour in the USA again. I saw them at the (then ESA Arena) in 2002 w/ Saves The Day....wonderful show.
3/5/2005 12:20:15 PM
El Scorcho!
3/5/2005 5:30:45 PM
^^ how can you say that weezer had a wonderful show. the all just stood there and barely moved. rivers didnt show any emotion at all. i liked it but i wouldent call it a good show
3/5/2005 8:23:23 PM
Yeah, Weezer isn't exactly the greatest live band. Good players, but now Matt Sharp isn't there to act all crazy, and you've got about a 1 in 300 chance of catching Rivers in a mood where he actually gets into it. Usually he just plays a few chords from El Scorcho to hear the crowd cheer, and then starts playing Crab or Simple Pages or some shit.
3/5/2005 9:21:40 PM
^^ Yes, but what you aren't including in the equation is that he was extremely sick that evening. It was all he could do to sing. He felt like total dump and considered cancelling the show but went on anyway. Entertainment wise, it wasn't all that, musically it was great.
3/6/2005 12:57:42 AM
^ from what i understand that whole tour was kind of bad. i enjoyed seeing weezer as much as the next fan...but i wish rivers would just give us more on the stage.
3/6/2005 10:50:58 AM
I stand corrected. Apparently the cover of the album is going to be red, but the official site has just confirmed the title as "Make Believe".[Edited on March 6, 2005 at 12:13 PM. Reason : pics]

3/11/2005 7:26:14 PM
manthat's fucking gay]
3/11/2005 9:16:02 PM
And you would probably say the same thing if you were seeing this for the first time:
3/11/2005 9:19:32 PM
yea i dont really think its that bad. its different. but then again its weezer. so cheesy stuff fits
3/11/2005 10:55:55 PM
^^well i've always been a big fan of hokusai, et al. so i found the pinkerton cover art to be pretty hotand just because the cover is gay doesn't mean i won't be buying the album the day it comes out
3/11/2005 11:46:28 PM
http://www.ukdragon.com/b3ta/weezerbevhillsclip.mp310 second clip of the single that is supposedly being aired Wednesday. The female echo is kinda weird, but I'm optimistic after hearing this. It's definitely no Maladroit or Green.
3/12/2005 10:20:18 PM
what's the over/under on this shit getting leaked
3/12/2005 10:24:48 PM
^^ it does sound like blast off lol.
3/13/2005 10:10:30 PM
^ What the hell? I didn't say that, but I was thinking that. Interesting... Anyway, here's a better quality clip recorded directly from the radio into the computer rather than via microphone:http://www.ozmafans.com/joe/bev_hills.wav
3/13/2005 10:51:38 PM
does anyone know if the new songs on 'make believe' will be longer than the usual 2:30?
3/29/2005 11:48:41 PM
Hmm..Every song on The Blue Album was longer than 2:30Every song on Pinkerton was longer than 2:30 except "Why Bother?"Every song on The Green Album was longer than 2:30 except "Photograph" and "Knock-Down-Drag-Out"Four songs on Maladroit were under 2:30, which is probably a good thing since it means you get to the end of the album faster. But to answer your question, none of the song lengths are known yet except "Beverly Hills", which is 3:20.
3/29/2005 11:56:56 PM
i was exagerating...but i would like to see some longer songs. they're all just too short it seems. thank you for your response though
3/30/2005 7:36:04 AM
There are three clips up at http://www.albumfive.com taken from the MTV Making the Video for Beverly Hills."We Are All On Drugs" - Sounds very Green Album-ish, maybe a little like Hash Pipe. I guess that's why they are using it as the second single.Unknown (Possibly "The Damage In Your Heart") - Most promising clip from Weezer that I have heard since Pinkerton. Sounds very Cars-ish.Unknown (Possibly "Peace") - Pretty inaudible, but what little I could hear sounded really good.

Hee hee.

I am listening to a terrible quality recording of the album recorded at a listening party in Berkeley, CA this afternoon. All I can say is, Beverly Hills is in no way representative of the album. The first two songs I've listened to are outstanding.
4/22/2005 8:34:22 PM
lets hope so
4/22/2005 8:37:48 PM
If you want to hear any of it IM me (Vulcan91). Your faith will be restored. I cannot even begin to fathom how Beverly Hills was put on an album with these songs.
4/22/2005 8:47:18 PM
http://scrotbot.com/gb/mb_berkeley-1.zipWarning: Very low quality recordings...But enjoy.
4/22/2005 10:06:53 PM
Two minute long samples from the CD: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?type=category&id=pcmcat59400050008&dcmp=rdr0000024"The Damage In Your Heart" sounds awesome.
4/23/2005 12:23:07 PM
i'm trying to get tix to the roseland shows. should be able to one at face outside the venue. tix aren't going for too much over face on ebay compared to most shows (nin +$200/ticket, trey +$150/ticket).
4/23/2005 12:30:11 PM
So the album has been out for over a month what did everyone think about it? I thought "Peace" and "We Are All On Drugs" were the best tracks. I'd say the album as a whole deserves a C+
6/12/2005 8:17:42 PM
Perfect Situation, This Is Such A Pity, Peace, The Other Way, and Haunt You Everyday are my favs!!!!The Other Way especially
6/12/2005 9:07:48 PM
We Are All on Drugs is the only song I kept on my iPod from the album. The rest were too sucky for me.
6/12/2005 10:59:01 PM
i still like the cd
6/12/2005 11:47:20 PM
there's about three good songs
6/13/2005 8:54:20 AM
I just saw that Weezer's coming to the House of Blues on a Sunday in Myrtle Beach (July 17th)Any chance they'll come back to the RBC Center too? MB isn't that bad, and since it's a Sunday I could swing the drive....hmmmm, dunno whether to get tix or wait it out for a Raleigh hopeful
6/23/2005 1:25:46 PM
I've already seen em three times, so if they're not coming to raleigh I doubt I'll drive anywhere to see a fairly mediocre performance
6/23/2005 1:36:06 PM
I might try to swing Myrtle Beach. Only problem is that I'll be in Atlanta the night before for the Reel Big Fish show at the Roxy.
6/23/2005 1:46:47 PM
Well screw this....check this out on the ticket page at ticketmaster:
6/23/2005 1:55:37 PM
^ thats ridiculous. 2 or 3 years ago that price would have been do-able for me, but ive lost some interest in seeing weezer since they have failed to produce enough new songs that i would like to see in concert, while im sure they will probably play the same ones ive seen them play the past 3-4 times ive seen them.
6/23/2005 3:13:54 PM
saw em on the pinkerton tour back in 96-97 and it was fucking rowdy
6/23/2005 3:15:53 PM
^ lucky. 96-97 would have made me 12-13 years old at the time. i loved pinkerton the first time i listened to it, but i didnt start going to concerts until i was 14 or 15...first time i saw weezer was during their comeback, and i flew to az to see them on the warped tour in phoenix. everyone at the warped tour was so pumped to see weezer, ive never seen as big of a crowd with as much anticipation.
6/23/2005 4:24:11 PM
^that's awesome. I saw em in charlotte too, and then again at the RBC. all the shows were fun, but the first one on the pinkerton tour was amazing
6/23/2005 4:47:54 PM
the nassau coliseum show is only $29.50
