PAGE 199Yeah the game this weekend matching UNC's D-line vs GT's option attack should be entertaining. I have faith in Paul Johnson to exploit some kind of weakness and hopefully GT can beat the hell out of the holes. Also somebody needs to edit or re-edit the UNC Wiki page to reflect all 18 losses they suffered yesterday.[Edited on September 20, 2011 at 3:24 PM. Reason : 199 pages of UNCheat]
9/20/2011 3:22:01 PM
its like i change Butch's record and annotate it by saying on 9/19/2011, UNC self-imposed blah blah forfeiting wins 2008 2009 blah blah and they still revert the changes
9/20/2011 3:27:38 PM
Do the forfeited wins actually count as losses or is UNC just 0-5 instead of 8-5, for examples?[Edited on September 20, 2011 at 3:40 PM. Reason : not that it matters...vacating wins is a joke]
9/20/2011 3:39:43 PM
0-5. Not 0-13.
9/20/2011 3:40:15 PM
Thats what I thought...so he is 12-23 all-time in the record books. FWIW
9/20/2011 3:42:14 PM
Can someone explain to me again how that punishes them in any way? I think i remember seeing that it somehow hurts them financially, or something..... but i don't recall.
9/20/2011 3:56:44 PM
It doesn't hurt them. They still get to keep the money from bowl appearances, not sure how it'd hurt them financially.
9/20/2011 4:01:13 PM
9/20/2011 4:02:16 PM
well yeah.... but they did. i don't see how retroactively taking it away really punishes them
9/20/2011 4:04:44 PM
^^I didn't think it vacated the wins from last year.]
9/20/2011 4:06:35 PM
oh yea u rite
9/20/2011 4:15:16 PM
Damn how is this not getting more playhttp://www.chapelboro.com/Art-Chansky-s-Notebook/9737820
9/21/2011 2:03:15 PM
Big block of text, but another interesting prong in this mess. Sucks that Thigpen is a UNC dick sucker and has not talked with the NCAA.
9/21/2011 2:41:40 PM
He might as well spill da beans. No one associated with Butch will ever be hired by unc-ch. Unless Withers wins the acc he won't be back next year.
9/21/2011 3:04:36 PM
9/21/2011 3:17:59 PM
The Independent answered my question. Vacating previous wins is a punishment becuase it "insults fans' memories".http://www.indyweek.com/triangleoffense/archives/2011/09/21/on-uncs-response-to-the-noa-and-why-vacating-wins-matters
9/21/2011 3:32:13 PM
Vacating wins is a useless punishment unless you win a championship.
9/21/2011 3:43:31 PM
nah, didn't you read? it insults the fans' memories.
9/21/2011 3:52:59 PM
^^It's not really even a useful punishment then. Sure, they maybe officially don't get to count it down the line, but you can't take away the excitement of being in the game at the time, or the euphoria and wild partying that comes with winning. If they beat the #2 team in the nation for all the beans, fans will distinctly remember that happening NCAA violations changing the books or otherwise. And I'm sure that's more fun than never making it to your conference championship game and winning mediocre bowls for your whole life. There's probably some value in (not*) winning the national championship one year... not that I'd want it that way.

9/22/2011 10:54:49 PM
can we get a ncaa investigation up in raleigh so we can vacate this season?
9/22/2011 11:04:53 PM
There's nothing to vacate. Might give us more reason to fire TOB though
9/22/2011 11:39:18 PM
Line em' Up...
9/23/2011 8:34:46 AM
The one good thing about this thread is no matter how bad we play, even on national tv, and pissed i am stopping by this thread make me smile. I feel like i'm going to be click on this a lot more through out the Fball and Bball season.

My wife teaches high school and usually puts a stupid bonus question at the end of her quizzes. She was telling me she usually puts something about NC State and people hate on her so I told her to put "How many wins does UNC have in football in the last 2 seasons?"She said some UNC fan was all pissed off and asked how many basketball wins State has and that football doesn't matter.... but he still had to put zero to get the bonus
9/23/2011 10:24:14 AM
What could happen:- NCAA doesn't add any bowl bans and only tacks on a couple extra schollies lost to UNC's self-imposed penalties- UNC finishes with 9 wins, wins Peach Bowl, and finishes year ranked- UNC hires pro-football AD and solid football coach- UNC becomes a consistent top-25 program- NC State continues to suck- Philip Rivers tears ACL and is traded to the Seahawks
9/23/2011 10:34:11 AM
^Well I see someone traveled to the future and got a sports almanac.
9/23/2011 10:41:08 AM

nice comment from that indy article:
9/23/2011 11:46:27 AM
9/29/2011 11:56:16 AM
^^hahaha, i am most definitely stealing that.
9/29/2011 11:59:41 AM
So when does all this go down???
10/5/2011 8:29:36 AM
Meeting with NCAA is 10/28 or something like that...
10/5/2011 9:34:47 AM
Butch Davis not invited to COI meeting to fend for UNC.Good or bad? I think bad. Without the coach there to soften any blows that might come down on the program, the COI is left with second hand shit from the chancellor and AD attempting to cover their ass by (probably) throwing Davis under the bus. Also, if memory serves, Black Santa will be attending the COI meeting. So how do you think he'll respond to their attempt to smear Butch?
10/5/2011 8:27:23 PM
They'll use the "he was the problem and we took care of it defense" but I'm hoping the NCAA investigators are smart kill them for keeping him so long after the fact. I just don't want this to ever end.
10/5/2011 8:54:53 PM
After reading that The Atlantic article, I have no confidence that the NCAA will do anything substantive to UNCcheat.
10/5/2011 9:05:16 PM
This has little to nothing to do with this investigation, but do you think the NFL will start punishing coaches who have broken NCAA rules, like they did with Terrelle Pryor?I mean if they're gonna punish kids for breaking rules that have no bearing on their professional career, they should punish coaches who get caught breaking rules, too. Right?
10/5/2011 9:51:16 PM
The Colts suspended Tressel for the first six games.
10/5/2011 9:59:17 PM
^ See Jim Tressel's experience working for the Indianapolis Colts thus far for your answer to that.

10/7/2011 7:44:38 AM
^lol, saw that. Hmm, former UNC leader thinks the NCAA should go away... ahahaha, a little butthurt, eh?
10/7/2011 8:33:42 AM
That's a terrific statement to make a few weeks before the COI meeting.

nah, those pine trees are too intimidating
10/8/2011 2:02:59 PM
Lol butch is in the unc box at the louisville game. What a true lack of remose by the administration
10/8/2011 2:33:03 PM
i imagine the admin doesn't want him there. instead, there are some boosters out there who are giving the admin the finger by bringing butch in repeatedly.
10/8/2011 6:04:11 PM
If UNC was serious I am sure they could ban him from the stadium. Hopefully the NCAA is taking notice...
10/8/2011 6:13:18 PM
they could, but that would create an even bigger stink and media frenzy. eventually the booster will realize he's being ignored and it'll stop
