i know no brown. i learned that at some point in high school the hard way. other than that i'm still pretty clueless and no black? absolutely no black or is that just a suggestion?
1/12/2011 9:59:11 PM
just a suggestion. black obviously goes with black, it can just be a little bland and funeral likein my opinion anyway i mean unless it is a black shoe with texture or some other colors or a really LOUD black shoe
1/12/2011 10:00:09 PM
If you wanted to do a black shoe I would recommend something patent leather. Good colors that go with black: gold, silver, bronze, red (dark patent leather would be ideal for winter), blue, green, purple. But it's black so it can go with anything!
1/12/2011 10:02:45 PM
Also if you are going to go with a black show with a black dress you may wanna consider wearing jewelry.....something to spice it up. A pretty teal blue color always goes well with without looking over done.
1/12/2011 10:06:17 PM
oh i like the idea of red! i just wish i were better in heels - i love feeling tall!
1/12/2011 10:07:31 PM
what about a wedge? they offer a little more support with the height aspectsomething like this (NOT this shoe, clearly, but something LIKE this that isn't $300 haha)http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod62450017&ecid=BGCIFroogleFeed&003=5842946&010=X0NML&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=X0NMLperhaps a red wedge? red satin or red leather wedge could be cute. or just a gold wedge like that one.
1/12/2011 10:11:36 PM
Heels are not so bad once you get in the habit of wesrig them and finding ones that fit properly. Also finding a shoe with a strap across the top of your foot helps with keeping your foot in place and is more comfortable. Chunkier heels are more comfy.
1/12/2011 10:13:06 PM
yeah, i was kind of thinking about a wedge but i'm having a hard time finding one in a color i like where the wedge doesn't look like cork
1/12/2011 10:13:41 PM
try to look for maybe a suede wedge. those usually don't have the cork colored wedge parts. you can find them in other materials too, but it seems like the suede ones always have a non-cork looking bottomlike this:http://www.dsw.com/shoe/mix+no.+6+olivia+wedge+pump?prodId=208054&cm_mmc=GPS-_-all-_-MIXNO.6-_-208054&mr:trackingCode=14EE338C-4FBB-DF11-904F-002219319097&mr:referralID=NA
1/12/2011 10:17:28 PM
Yes a suede wedge would be super cute!!!
1/12/2011 10:20:22 PM
can you wear nude shoes with a black dress?
1/12/2011 10:22:27 PM
^ I don't think I could do it, but I'm no style expert either.
1/12/2011 10:23:46 PM
you can wear ANYTHING with black (save for brown. and prob not navy unless it is with a business suit or something)nude would probably be a little blah a color would be more fun. but that shoe was more of an example of style of wedge...get something similar in red or purple or pink or blue or something and then the shoe can be the star of the outfit.[Edited on January 12, 2011 at 10:26 PM. 1/13/2011 8:04:23 AM

1/13/2011 9:48:00 AM
SO I want theseand theseI am a little late in the game for this style but I've wanted the gray ones since my friend had on a similar pair 3 years ago. I kept forgetting to ask the brand and I finally figured it out.]
1/13/2011 1:22:58 PM
DSW just put MORE shoes on clearance. there is a pair of boots i really want unfortunately they are on clearance...yes CLEARANCE...for $149. well that is probably fortunate for me because it deters me from purchasing them. lol.p.s. kinda into these converse but i'm not 100% sure if i'm gonna get them. plus they only have a size 6 left. they run big (imo anyway) but i'd feel more comfortable with a 6.5 even though a 6 would probably work but i'm weird about shoes and my toe touching the top. yea. but i can't decide if i want high tops or low tops. well i KNOW i want high tops but low are probably more practical. and a color other than pink (ie grey) is probably even more practical. i also like purple. but i like THESE pink ones because they aren't the regular pink. http://www.dsw.com/shoe/converse+women%27s+chuck+taylor.and.%23174%3B+all+star.and.%23174%3B+sneaker?prodId=201615&productRef=SEARCH[Edited on January 13, 2011 at 2:01 PM. 1/13/2011 5:14:32 PM
the color would be a gothe material...not so much
1/13/2011 5:16:04 PM
but misha's red sparkly chucks are awesomebut i guess not for everyday use i want purple regular ones so i'll prob just end up with those. or pink. or grey. probably maybe grey cause they go with moreWHY SO MANY CHOICESSSS
1/13/2011 5:20:23 PM
the pictures of the ones you posted don't make the material look like misha's maybe if it was the same material as hers
1/13/2011 5:21:28 PM
i know it makes them look odd. i'm definitely intrigued by the material.i <3 her super glittered out shoes haha
1/13/2011 5:23:47 PM
sooooo, i ordered these a while back and they came into day!it's my first pair of uggs EVER and OMG are they comfortable (and theyre bedroom slippers not shoes to wear out lol)however they are just a tad too big. i ordered a 9 (my normal size is an 8.5-9) and i am sending them back for an 8 (they dont have half sizes.this is a good idea right, won't shoes like these stretch over time?
1/13/2011 6:44:53 PM
mine got bigger as they aged, but I've had them for 15+ years...
1/13/2011 6:46:47 PM
thats what i thought.PS-from what i can tell now...the website http://www.barenecessities.com has a badass return policy.they include a prepaid return label with your order just in case we'll see how this pans out.ive never had to return anything via mail before.
1/13/2011 6:49:11 PM
Bare Necessities is awesome for bra fitting, especially if you wear a size that isn't found in most stores. I have to go to Nordstrom or order online, and they have the best return policy of online places.
1/13/2011 8:04:39 PM
punchmonk plz to post a link or brand name or place to buy those gray boots??? I've been looking all winter for a pair of boots and I can't find one I like and those look like they may want to come live at my house.

1/14/2011 3:33:47 PM
ok 2 thingsfirst off. I got a new duvet. I decided that maybe ya'll were right about the obnoxiously hot pink. I decided to go with this really pretty orange and red paisley. hi i'm back again. i accidentally went overboard today on the shopping so...no more shopping for katherine for awhile! need to resist the good deals. BUT I GOT SOME GREAT ONES. let me show you:C&C California Tunic ($15 usually $58)Michael Stars Top ($9 usually $49)Collective Concepts Sweater Cardigan ($29 usually $100)Koret Handbag ($39 usually $100)...prob most excited about this. it has a shoulder strap and i've been needing a new bag FOREVERRRRRR...ask my bf who frequently gets stuck holding my shit in his pockets when i don't feel like carrying a clutch i'm excited. probably spent too much but i mean....i LOVE C&C Cali and Michael Stars and those prices are just unbeatable. plus, they're all basics that i'll get a lot of use out of...even in the summer with jeans and sandals. and the bag will get a ton of use...it came in olive and black. black was really pretty too but i wear a lot of black/navy/brown so i figured olive will go with all of those colors HAPPY i love new things but more than that i LOVE A DEAL!i had to resist buying a new coat. the coat deals right now are UNBELIEVABLE. like $40 for $200 coats. but i don't really need another coat so, meh. well i WANT a winter white one or a fun pink one but, that is unnecessary. anyway, end of season sales rule! RULEEEE.[Edited on January 14, 2011 at 9:25 PM. Reason : .]
1/14/2011 9:21:11 PM
I REALLY like the bag!! Like a lot. A whole lot. Now I want
1/14/2011 10:09:24 PM
yay thanks! i was hoping someone would finally comment. since i'm sitting here alone online shopping. and the bf would not be impressed with my deal finding skills ideeli.comthey might still have some left! but watch out, that site is super addicting!!!
1/14/2011 10:13:24 PM
you are not helping me shut down my inner shopaholic
1/15/2011 7:52:16 AM
where can i find leggings that aren't just black or grey or brown, and aren't jeggings? i'm looking for green or teal, & not neon/80s.
1/15/2011 8:10:31 AM
online? nordstrom? that is all i can think of.i'd like to know, too. i can't even find anything beyond black. i would live: grey, brown, olive, navy. and i wish they'd be better quality than the $7 target ones. i'm willing to shell out a little bit for something that doesn't come apart after one or two washings :/
1/15/2011 8:47:19 AM
^^ Check out Express, I got some in green and purple there recently. Also, the Marshall's and TJMaxx around my have a good selection of leggings, tights, and (my favorite) sweater tights in some interesting colors. And they are affordable enough to buy a bunch.
1/15/2011 9:28:46 AM
I just went to this awesome place near me - Chic Envy. They're a consignment store for super nice stuff and they do a system where they'll keep it for 90 days and lower the price 20% each month in the hopes of selling it. Once it sells, they split the profit 50/50, which is better than a lot of second hand stores. I just brought in 10 items and if on the off chance I sell everything in 30 days - it'll be almost $400
1/15/2011 11:39:11 AM
i don't know what to wear to my new job on Weds.... In other questions, how long does it normally take to get pants tailored?
1/16/2011 9:40:33 PM
most tailors have the express tailor service for like a few buck more so you can get them same day!!
1/16/2011 9:43:10 PM
Yes, there's a tailor out at Southpoint, and I can't remember the name! But they do 24 hour service for an extra dollar.Edit: Apparently it's Lee's Tailor Shop in the mall.[Edited on January 16, 2011 at 9:51 PM. Reason : ]
1/16/2011 9:49:43 PM
yes! lee's in crabtree will do it same day. i've even gotten pants at belk, taken them to lee's, then walked around the mall while they tailored them. if you have anything super complicated i wouldn't take it there, but for a pant they're fine. i've taken all my designer jeans there and suits and they've always done a good jobbetter than wang's...who will also do the quickie service, too. but i haven't always liked their hems!
