what kinds of problems have you had? the only issues i had was getting the activation area exactly where i wanted it, but that was all settings...after that, it's been flawless

i was using the swipe in version in CM, and it wasn't detecting it every time

i can toggle Expanded Desktop from my power menu if i need the extra real estate, but i don't default to it

^^ look up USB cable pin outs. It will list ground, +, data +, data - colors. Use a razor blade, split open the cable length wise, about 1"... enough to access the wires... Cut data + and data -. on the phone connector side, strip the data wires back slightly and solder the two together.

Just don't ever use that cable with anything but a car charger.

It's a beta so I don't expect it to be perfect by any stretch.

The location stuff it does is really cool and I could care less if someone sees what apps I have installed.

I don't have anything to hide and the launcher is nice so I'm going to stick with it a while

Contact question. I use the 'my contacts' in Google to manage my contacts in Gmail and on my phone. I also use Exchange on my phone and join those contacts with their respective Google contacts (if they exist). The issue is if I "copy to contacts" using an Exchange number it joins on my phone but does not create a respective contact in Gmail under my contacts. This presents a problem as the contact doesn't show up in Gmail. The only way to create that contact is to go in and manually create a contact in Gmail with duplicate data.

Anyone found a way to sync contacts like this? I think I'll just have to manually create contacts from Exchange that I want to show up in Gmail. The biggest reason this is an issue is I use Google Voice for work (especially when traveling internationally) and the contact shows up correctly on my phone in Google voice but not in Gmail.

Found a few solutions online. For this particular scenario I'm at a hotel in Madrid and the wifi is proving to be choppy and I've got a hard wire connection on my laptop that's really good. I'd like to reverse tether to my phone so I can use VOIP with the bluetooth headset I use with my phone as my laptop does not have bluetooth.

But yeah essentially for when you don't want to use or don't have a data connection and there's no wifi or it sucks and you want to have a reliable connection to your phone.

I got a Galaxy S4 on Sprint a few weeks ago and I noticed it does not sync properly with my BMW iDrive system. The phone pairs fine I can make calls but the contacts are not getting exported to the car. After failing to export the contacts the connection drops and then reconnects. Has anyone else on here had similar issues?

Has anyone been keeping up with Nexus 5 news? It was rumored that the 32GB variant of the N5 would come with a larger battery, but I haven't heard much about that lately. That rumor was probably just wishful thinking right?

I'm going to upgrade my wife and I to Nexus 5s from our Droid Razrs (not Maxx or HD even, the first gen). I would have left Verizon a long time ago except that we got the phones for a penny during an Amazon deal. I don't expect to see the same with the Nexus 5 so this will be the first time I have paid for a phone upfront and then get to shop for the best plan.
