^I have a few of these, seem to be well madeExcept one showed up with bent feed lips and I CANNOT get these guys on the phone. They asked for pictures via email 2 weeks ago, and I have heard nothing in reply since.Get them from http://www.7-62precision.com/magazines/ if you can. Possibly the best customer service I have ever received in my life. I called to verify stock, got no answer, and someone from the store called me back within a minute. Apparently you can get cheaper shipping when ordering over the phone. Mags shipped same day, came 2 days earlier than USPS tracking.
1/13/2013 7:31:53 PM
I tried to order 20 of them, but the shipping was like $110. Get the fuck outta here!I'll try to call them in a day or two and see how much the shipping REALLY is.
1/13/2013 8:14:07 PM
how does this happen?.22LR fired from 22 upper AR15. i saw it in the pile of brass, so i cant say whether it failed in anyway.
1/14/2013 2:07:46 PM
looks like it fired out of battery. in other words, the bolt wasn't fully closed and the cartridge wasn't completely in the chamber when it went off.
1/14/2013 2:16:45 PM
They told me shipping is added to each mag individually in error. They come from alaska, but it's definitely not that expensive., haha.

Buying a 1972 Marlin tomorrow that looks like its never been shot. The first year of the new run of 1895s. No safety and the last year for awhile they didn't use microgroove rifling.Super low serial #! Since I love 45-70 so much this is probably the best gun I've ever bought. Will post pictures this week-
1/14/2013 4:00:46 PM
doesn't look like there's a firing pin mark on that 22LR casing... it wasn't a Chiappa upper was it?
1/14/2013 4:10:27 PM
The ring looks off center too...Maybe it got squashed as it was going into battery at an angle? Then fired and ejected "normally."

1/14/2013 5:29:25 PM
Either set up a trust or you have to get the sherriff to sign off I believe. Trust is the easiest route IMO.
1/14/2013 5:32:47 PM
Can you elaborate on the trust route? Is this how Joe Civilian also gets permission to own full auto?
1/14/2013 5:34:23 PM
I'd wait and see how this pans out:http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/01/10/proposed-nfa-form-changes/
1/14/2013 5:58:35 PM
^ That sounds awesome. Signature of head of local law enforcement was always the biggest hurdle for the non-trust route.
1/14/2013 6:16:33 PM
wouldn't that eliminate the advantage of the trust?
1/14/2013 6:27:17 PM
why, because you have to justify need before they'll sign off?
1/14/2013 6:27:26 PM
no, you don't have to justify need, there are just a bunch of CLEOs that won't sign off at allthink about how much some of them hate to sign off on CHPs, then multiply that by a bajillion
1/14/2013 6:28:39 PM
So, in ~6 months I will be part of this club: (trust route)Mine will be Glock 35Trijicon RMR RM04Thompson Machine QMF-2Adapters for 9mm and .40
1/14/2013 7:23:39 PM
care to give a short synopsis of what the trust route entails?[Edited on January 14, 2013 at 7:28 PM. Reason : looking like VA laws on the issue are similar to NC]
1/14/2013 7:27:31 PM
i had 1000 pieces of 5.56 brass from Pat's Reloading on my porch today. shit looks like it was dug out of a rice paddy in Da Nang[Edited on January 14, 2013 at 7:47 PM. Reason : gonna have to break the stainless media back out]

Thinking about picking up one of those Glock 22 Gen 2's for $299 at Lawmens. Any opinions?
1/14/2013 8:24:36 PM
if I hadn't just dropped almost a grand on a new pistol I'd probably pick one up, that's a decent deal and I assume you can look at a few and pick your favoritethen again I could just drop a .40 barrel in my G32 for <$100but, assuming that option doesn't exist for you, yeah. go for it.
1/14/2013 8:32:29 PM
^^I know another user on here just picked up one of the glocks from lawmens, so maybe they will chime in.There should be no problems with them. They will most likely have some holster wear, but few rounds through them relative to their age. $300 isn't a bad deal for a great used gun.As far as NFA:1. Make Revokable Living Trust. You can use quicken will maker, get a template from a dealer, or hire a lawyer. To use the trust for property that requires taxes and depreciation, you need to register your trust in NC. To use it for 'personal' property, there is no requirement to do so.2. Go to dealer and purchase item that you want. Send $200 and paperwork to BAFT.3. Wait forever.I am in the middle of step one and two. I have the trust info filled out, but haven't gotten it notarized yet. That will happen this weekend. I have already given my money to the Class 3 dealer, and he has ordered the can. Once the can comes in, and my trust is complete, then we send in the paperwork.
1/14/2013 8:49:19 PM
thanks for the info. I guess I'm confused as to what a living trust has to do with firearms and what the logic is behind the presence thereof circumventing the sheriff's approvalthen again I don't know anything about trusts[Edited on January 14, 2013 at 9:20 PM. Reason : asdf]
1/14/2013 9:19:41 PM
The trust is an entity. The entity can own property. As the trustee, you can use any property owned by the trust. As an entity, the trust does not need to have its photo taken, fingerprinted, a background check, or CLEO signature.

not sure if this has been posted, but this is a fairly interesting look into wound characterization from a surgeon/anesthesiologist's POV. don't mind the title, the actual lecture is not a debate between 9mm and .45http://youtu.be/tku8YI68-JA[Edited on January 15, 2013 at 2:10 PM. Just so you guys know, BATF has finally come around on NFA requirements as a result of last year's gun bill. You no longer have to get a MG permit from the CLEO/sheriff. Anyone can purchase one with the standard NFA signoff, but more importantly, you can now purchase them with a trust. No more dickwad sheriffs making their county a MG-free zone. They have also adopted the new language eliminating the R&D language requirement. You may now own NFA items for any and all lawful purposes.Note that due to the language, if you list 14-409 as your reason for owning, then you DO still need a permit.. Again, just a quirk in the language, so just don't cite 14-409 as your reason for ownership and you're good.[Edited on January 15, 2013 at 2:42 PM. Reason : .]
1/15/2013 2:40:38 PM
just curious, what are other reasons/purposes you can put down? can you say self defense? target shooting? i don't have much NFA knowledge.
1/15/2013 3:06:38 PM
^^holy crap awesome.I may consider getting a suppressor later this year. Is it legal to hunt with them?
1/15/2013 3:31:28 PM
That's pretty awesome
1/15/2013 3:38:05 PM
no, you may not hunt with a suppressor in NC
1/15/2013 4:00:49 PM
Is this change only related to MGs?
1/15/2013 4:24:39 PM
I think there really is some merit in a suppressor for self defense purposes, if only to avoid the disorientation / hearing damage that may result from firing any type of firearm in a close quarters / home defense scenario. Don't really know much about them or the process to acquire though, other than what was just posted
1/15/2013 4:25:59 PM
^yeah, a two-stamp suppressed SBR would be a fine defensive rifle
1/15/2013 4:29:28 PM
NY is absolutely nuts:
1/15/2013 4:32:44 PM
I wonder if it'll be challenged in the courts. Also sucks about not being able to hunt w/ suppressors. I wonder if that will get changed.
1/15/2013 4:34:56 PM
^it would require legislation, not just a change in NCWRC regs.
1/15/2013 4:39:13 PM
Looking to get a pump shotgun.Anyone care to give an opinion on remmington 870 vs benelli nova?
1/15/2013 8:00:10 PM
what do you want to do with the shotgun?
1/15/2013 8:03:36 PM
Mostly shoot clays, perhaps the occasional bird.[Edited on January 15, 2013 at 8:09 PM. Reason : My dad has a benelli semi auto that I love but I don't want to spend that much]
1/15/2013 8:08:53 PM
Don't overlook a mossberg 500. Excellent guns for the $
1/15/2013 8:11:20 PM
^ I'm sure it shoots well but I'm not a fan of the way it feels.
1/15/2013 8:13:17 PM
doesn't really matter. get whichever feels better to you.
1/15/2013 8:16:13 PM
1/15/2013 8:25:36 PM
apparently obama is going to surround himself with children who wrote him letters tomorrow
1/15/2013 8:34:48 PM
sucks for NY but honestly I would like to see how it pans out over time
1/15/2013 8:51:40 PM
man you disassemble an old marlin and you really see what pieces of shit most of the new ones are.even the grain of the wood is amazing.buggered a couple of screws, but this thing needed an extreme clean inside.all better now! time to get on midwayusa...
1/15/2013 9:50:47 PM
While you're there, get yourself a gunsmith screwdriver set. The bits are hollow ground and fit screws real well so you don't end up buggering screws. They're not that expensive but make a real big difference. You'll wonder why they make regular screwdrivers the way they do.
1/15/2013 11:28:27 PM
^ Is there a particular set you recommend?
1/16/2013 1:03:10 AM
http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/general-gunsmith-tools/screwdrivers-sets/magna-tip-sets/magna-tip-sets-prod41571.aspxi have the Standard Set No. 1 w/ #81 handle from Brownell's. it's got all the basic bits and there's room in the tray to add whatever special bits you realize you need later.i've also found a torque driver to be extremely useful for mounting scopes and playing with action screw torques for tuning accuracy. i bought a refurbished Utica TS-35 on ebay that works really well.[Edited on January 16, 2013 at 6:39 AM.
