Trump's comments on his supposed cognitive test sounds like it came from someone who most definitely failed their cognitive test.

"Mild" is "not as bad as" "serious or critical". I already shared the source so at this point you are debating with the source, not me. You don't have to be an expert to share conclusions from the experts. If the healthcare community tells me someone is in serious or critical condition, I don't have to question it or go get their education in order to verify it before I go on and tell someone else that person is in critical condition.https://reason.com/2020/04/12/official-covid-19-numbers-represent-just-6-of-total-infections-a-new-analysis-suggests/The biggest misconception of all is that people think "cases" means total infections. It doesn't. That misconception makes every data point seem a lot worse than what it is actually showing.[Edited on July 10, 2020 at 4:48 PM. Reason : k]

I said 'mild' all along. I just understand the historical context of Trump's use of hyperbole in speech which is something I mentioned in the first post you quoted.

The "mild versus critical" debate leaves out the more important context regarding the fact that mild cases can turn into critical cases in an incredibly, abnormal short of time. Hence "mild" is not a good barometer of risk.

Being reported now he’s commuting stones sentence

Fucking traitor piece of shit. I hope he's indicted less than 60 seconds after Biden takes the oath and has the book thrown at him.

7/10/2020 8:10:51 PM
I mean it’s corrupt as fuck. But focus. In the grand scheme of things it’s a 70+ year old not going to jail. Who cares?Real people are dying and it’s because of decisions being made by the worst president since Wilson.
7/10/2020 8:54:27 PM
^ because it’s a corruption of democracy. It has a chilling effect on the honest people while emboldening their crooked people. It promotes even more fraud and grifting throughout the government. It opens the door for trumps current campaign to unashamedly cheat because they know the president, the attorney general, and the gop congress will help them avoid repercussions. This is the kind of thing that Historically breaks governments.
7/10/2020 8:57:56 PM
Corruption is commuting the sentence of a guy who lied to protect your affairs or your political bribes.Treason is commuting the sentence of a guy who helped a foreign, enemy intelligence service steal an election for you.
7/10/2020 10:33:21 PM
Either way, it's bad.

It’s pretty easy to make the case that the Trump administration’s blatant corrupting of the DOJ, if it were to become the new normal, is more dangerous to the long term survival of the country than COVID. I know the history of the DOJ is hardly sterling, but democracy won’t survive long if a president is able to selectively prosecute his enemies and commute his minions.Y’all know Stone is going to try to ratfuck Biden right? Sure Stone could roll on Trump, so Trump needed to commute, but also Trump needs Stone to make the race competitive again (ghouliani couldn’t make Burisma stick).

He wasn't posing for the cameras that time. Today, he was.Total fucking sociopath.
7/12/2020 12:20:31 AM
Yay, now we get to pretend he didn't spend the last six months denigrating masks and the people who wear them.
7/12/2020 2:12:31 AM
The media always understood. You rarely see an anchor or field reporter live on air with a mask (even when they were complaining about lack of masks) because they think it looks ridiculous too and realize that seeing someone with or without a mask doesn't actually do anything. Its always been about context and today was a context (hospital) where he felt the need to wear a mask.
7/12/2020 3:43:51 AM
Context? Seriously? The example the President sets is enormously important. There’s your fucking context. The behavior the President models becomes the baseline for a large portion of the country. Jesus Christ, context. You fucking abcessed barnacle of a troll.

7/12/2020 11:17:28 AM
Trump has always said he doesn't wear a mask because he's in a protective bubble where anyone in the white house or close contact has tested negative. That is not foolproof and is what could be criticized. Regular people don't live with the same security as the president. Does the president need to look both ways before crossing the street? Were Bush or Obama ever seen taking their shoes off before getting on a plane? No, but if they flew commercial with everyone else, they would have. The mask is like that. Typically no one can get within 6 feet of the president without a mask, a test, or both. You will see the same thing with pro athletes, news anchors, reporters, households and anyone else who operates in a "bubble". If you show me some evidence supporting the idea that people wearing masks is conditioned upon the president doing so, I'll concede and by that logic, we should now expect to see a huge uptick in masks in places where they are not required.

Its crazy how the media is implying Trump made the DHS policy that international student f1 visas would not be valid if they took online classes. Trump got rid of the policy which was already in place when he took office.

Just because you found out about it last week, doesn't mean it started last week. That rule was the norm and has been the norm as long as I've been working in college. Here is the policy in print from Eastern Florida State college 12/2015
