$40 but with a new account & $25 for a trade-in phone makes it $15:Sprint:http://www.targetmobilestore.com/r.aspx?referringdomain=targetmobile&oflag=specialoffer&zipcode=00000&rppid=64965&p1pid=61769Verizon:http://www.targetmobilestore.com/r.aspx?referringdomain=targetmobile&oflag=specialoffer&zipcode=00000&rppid=61805&p1pid=61889[Edited on August 11, 2013 at 2:04 PM. Yeah, that...I traded an LG Chocolate Touch worth an extra $5 off, so my total was $11.08
8/11/2013 6:52:52 PM
So what would existing customers pay?
8/11/2013 7:59:17 PM
If you're due an update, a few hundred pennies. I've been with Alltel since the end of '01, and thus Verizon since... '09? So this was my new-every-two cheap upgrade, otherwise the phone still costs $Texas.

anyone have issues with google maps/navigation? ever since the last update to it, I'm having serious issues. If you're navigating and you go from that being the active app to another app being the active app, when returning to nav, it doesn't return me to navigation, but just the map (nav is still in pulldown bar, but even selecting that takes me back to the map and not navigation - I have to reselect my start/end destination). And when I select the destination and then start nav, it FCs several times before working.
8/12/2013 10:40:20 AM
apparently I'm not alone:http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!categories/maps/issues-and-troubleshooting/navigation/mobile-android
8/12/2013 11:43:09 AM
Works for me on my GNex, and I've got the latest update I think...7.0.2.
8/12/2013 12:34:05 PM
^^^ I've had similar problems with my GS3.
8/12/2013 2:37:56 PM
yeah i hadn't used google maps/nav since my last software upgrade on my GS3 until this past weekend.any time that i tried to run it in the background and then return to the navigation the app would crash.also, getting directions is a pain in the ass with google maps. thanks for fucking with a good thing google.
8/12/2013 3:09:02 PM
Totally agreed. I'm seeing the same Maps problems you guys are having. I hate the new Maps app.I drive ALOT for work and I loved being able to just hit the navigation button and tap "Go Home".[Edited on August 12, 2013 at 3:38 PM. Reason : meh]
8/12/2013 3:38:35 PM
losing the layer selection on maps sucks as well. also having similar issues
8/12/2013 4:25:24 PM
i am trying to figure out why the fuck they took the navigation button off
8/12/2013 4:48:33 PM
because it's now embedded in maps

8/12/2013 8:52:49 PM

If I plug my GNex into the car dock, start navigation, then remove it from the dock, Maps crashes
8/12/2013 10:37:11 PM
the only solution for now is to uninstall the app (takes it back to previous stock version) and don't allow autoupdates.
8/13/2013 8:27:38 AM
^That's what I did. I use my maps a lot and they took that feature out for now.
8/13/2013 9:43:57 AM
8/13/2013 10:35:25 AM
hes talking about the little blue arrow widget that everyone used pre this update. i, too, am pissed off about that
8/13/2013 11:57:31 AM
Since we are talking about android NAV I saw Locus Map Pro was on sale:http://www.app-sales.net/sale.php?id=3054https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=menion.android.locus.proOh I decided to get some new headphones, I have been using Monster Lil' Jamz that I got for $29.99 on clearance. What does everyone think of these NuForce 700X? I know they aren't known for great bass, but that isn't what I am worried about anyway. I am hoping these will also do decent with my Pandora Mini when playing guitar through headphones. http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/09/nuforce-ne-700x-earbud-review.htmlhttp://www.amazon.com/NuForce-NF-NE-700X-NE700X-In-ear-Headphones/dp/B004GFNDDG

yah i had no idea. took me prob 20 min to figure out how to get back to my nav since i rarely ever use maps
8/13/2013 1:16:49 PM
^^Oooh ok I must not have the latest update then. I still have two icons in my drawer and everything is working ok What version of Maps are you all running? Is this all related to Android 4.3 or just a wonky Maps app?]
8/13/2013 1:25:19 PM
Got the Samsung dock. This thing is pretty sweet. x3 USB ports, hdmi port, and audio out jack. Can hook up a Logitech unifying receiver for mouse+keyboard, wireless 360 dongle for 1-4 controllers, and an external HDD plus HDMI out to an HDTV. Works really well for movies and a portable emulator.
8/13/2013 2:26:11 PM
Very nice. What emulator are you running?
8/13/2013 2:41:48 PM
I don't know what version of maps caused the issues, I've gone back to a working version.I have android v4.1.2 though.
8/13/2013 3:01:31 PM
Supern64 for the emulator. It's pretty sweet.
8/13/2013 3:06:53 PM
what is the best performing tablet now? I am starting to hate my xybaord because it eats sim cards.
8/13/2013 5:30:03 PM
I have the blue navigation shortcut still. Latest maps update, too. Also
8/13/2013 10:02:31 PM
can someone explain tasker to me? I haven't bought it but I'm looking for an API doc and can't seem to find one
8/14/2013 6:35:17 AM
^^Didn't know about that thanks. For now, I uninstalled the updated Maps and rolled back to the original. But at some point when I'm forced to go forward, I'll use that.
8/14/2013 10:05:10 AM
There's also the option of setting your home address to your account, and entering Google now. I almost always have a card showing me the commute time home, with a navigation button. The short cut works well though.I like the new maps personally. I don't like the fact that the terrain layer was removed, I used that on occasion on my tablet for shits and giggles. But otherwise it works fine for me.
8/14/2013 10:15:33 AM
Yeh, I just use google now to get to nav for common destinations/appointments. Every time I get to work in the morning (which google now gives time & route for automatically), it automatically switches to tell me the route/time home... I guess it's just a sign I should turn around and just go home.
8/14/2013 12:00:08 PM
Of course I say that, but that card hasn't show up all day. And I needed to actually use it after leaving someone's house I hadn't been to in a while, because I wasn't sure which was quicker at that time. I did get it opened quickly by voice searching "navigate home"

http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/08/14/nexus-5-release-date-rumor-roundup/http://www.phonearena.com/news/Despite-rumors-of-a-Motorola-Nexus-5-new-speculation-calls-for-an-LG-Nexus-5-with-Nexus-4-pricing_id46365Sounds like the Nexus 5 will probably be based on that LG G2 device, but have lower specs and potentially some design changes as well...but I assume it will have KLP on it right?Assuming that's all true, I think I might prefer the (presumably) $200 LG G2 from Verizon with the higher specs and Android 4.2.2/4.3 rather than the (presumably) $300 Nexus 5 with lower specs and Android 5.Any other phones I should be considering?
8/15/2013 12:04:30 PM
I've heard rumors of a more robust moto x brother coming, idunno if that was the moto nexus rumored or not.

1st gen 32GB N7 for $140 with free shipping and no tax: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Google-Nexus-7-1B32-32GB-Tablet-Quad-core-Tegra-3-Processor-Refurbished/321187766056they call it a manufacturer refurb, which i'm betting means it's being fire-saled by google now that the 2nd gen units are outtrying to decide if i should get one...i don't NEED it, but $140 seems to be a pretty good price to me
8/19/2013 9:57:34 AM
there are better spec'd tablets out there for the money but none of them offer the nexus experience (no bloatware, 0day updates) which is why I settled on one. I got the 2012 version from nintool for $100 so it was a no-brainer
8/19/2013 10:31:22 AM
I recently put Cyanogen 10.2 ROM on my Nexus 7 (’12) and I was wondering if I should stick with the CM Kernel or should I go with the Franco Kernel I already have available (and the Franco App I have makes it handy).Oh I was reading that a user over on XDA got one of the USB HDTV receivers and an OTG cable to work on his ’12 N7 which I thought was pretty cool. I know I could look this up, but I have very little time to do searching on XDA. Can't you plug an HDMI cable straight into the ’12 N7 to get A/V out to a TV? I have all of my controllers working and my 500GB external HD through OTG cable, but I thought I saw something about Tegra 3 supporting HD video out and now I am curious.[Edited on August 19, 2013 at 1:42 PM. O'RLY?!?!?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vnaBNmm4LAalso I'm pretty sure if this works, it is easily possible:http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CK2Qghpf7bATegra 3 has native video out support (http://gigaom.com/2012/07/26/with-miracast-nvidias-tegra-3-enables-wireless-displays/), even if ASUS didn't implement it.Have you guys ever answered a single question I have posted in the Android thread? This isn't Chit Chat you know? There are many reasons why myself and lots of others didn't get the 2nd Rev Nexus 7, deal with it.Do you see me running around the Perpetual PC thread telling everyone who bought a 770 GTX they are idiots because the exact same card existed a year ago under a different name (680)? Stuff like that (buying a rebrand) is what you make fun of, not someone consciously choosing an older model right before a new launch to save money.[Edited on August 19, 2013 at 7:49 PM. Reason : _]
