dude what rock are you living under

the sooner you deal with a realistic picture of the situation the better

because god knows you aren't doing that -- you thought you were in love with a girl you knew 2 months and now she won't even talk to your ass. switch shit up for your own sake

I just hadn't thought about it...I don't like to think of her fucking other guys, because I still have feelings for her...nothing strange in that, I think

anyway, most of what you say is true, but I did love her, despite it having been only two months. anyway, I'm going to bed now. thank you, sir, for your many words of wisdom.

v Thank you, too, sir.

dude, no you didnt. would you have died for her? this was mere lust disguised as love...the quicker you realize this and move on the better you will be. breakups suck period but if you feel this way about a girl after only 2 months then man i can kinda see why you got dumped.

For starters I can't believe you're 28 and still handling things this way.

I would share my own advice but it would never do better than the infamous advice of rallydurham

McDanger had some really good advice in that thread as well.

maybe someone already asked this but did you guys say "i love you" to each other during the 2 months? or did maybe you just say it?

i think if someone said that to me after a month or two (and that has happened before) i'd be kinda freaked out (and i was)

I don't see why it even matters. There is no set deadline to say three words to me. If they both felt that way don't just not say it because it's "too soon." I mean I don't think I'd ever feel that way after that long. Shit, I didn't say it to my longest term g/f until like a year in... but I'm also a pretty emotionless person.

[Edited on November 4, 2009 at 1:20 PM. Reason : maybe less than a year in... i don't know... it wasnt a big deal to me.]

i don't know - i usually say "whenever you feel like it is right" but i mean, i guess to me that is more than 2 months into a relationship. i don't think i could know someone well enough to say that during 2 months unless we spent like every waking moment of the day together. but i guess some people get caught up in the like beginning of the relationship butterfly type feelings. i dunno. i agree with ^^, too. but i think it also matters if he was the only one saying it

^ hahahahahahaha. i also like that "savages savages barely even human" song

i knew i wanted to marry my husband within 3 or 4 dates. and that's including the first date when he forced me to watch Jackie Brown. ugh. i mean, it was several months before i said the L word, but i still knew it in my heart after about a month of dating.

perhaps you all just haven't found that kinda true love yet. i don't think you should give the guy a hard time for having those kinds of feelings that quickly. it does happen. maybe in this case it really is one of those "lust" things, but maybe, just maybe, he did fall in love and get his heart broken.

Someone should make a "When did you say I love you to your SO" and how...

1) Jackie Brown is an awesome movie.
2) When you know, you know. I like to think that you know by the third or fourth date whether you could love them. Maybe not be in love, but at least have love for them. I couldn't spend more than 2 months with someone who I didn't feel was "love and marriage" potential. Why waste the best days of being single with someone who's just filler?

I just AWWWED out loud in my office.

I said 'I love you' to my bf during a fight because I was afraid I wouldn't get the chance to say it, I think that was 6-7 months in.

while this was a huge bitch move on her part, i can't help but laugh a little at you asking if you could come. i mean fuck, all you had to do was get one of your 'friends' to invite you as their guest, ensuing shenanigans would, have in the very least, shut the door much more solidly for you.

pining about it won't do anything for you, you've got to get over it, get a rebound and know that's all it is if you have to.
