12/9/2010 6:43:06 PM

12/9/2010 7:49:18 PM
I actually have no problem with the gloves. I just have a problem with jackets making me look like I need surgery, STAT[Edited on December 9, 2010 at 7:50 PM. Reason : ^2 ps.. yes that's lovely!]
12/9/2010 7:50:21 PM
i like the dress greenjay!sooo i am learning how to sew and took my first sewing class on sunday. we made a clutch (very basic and not that cute imo) and a reversible tote. we meeting again this sunday and are making pajama pants!so i wanted to share the 3 reversible totes i made last night!i have literally only sewn 2 things before this, so these are my official #3, 4 & 5th pieces ever!the two on the ends have coordinating polka dot insides and the middle one has a black interior
12/9/2010 8:20:07 PM
^aww those are so cute! That is pretty baller!
12/9/2010 8:25:26 PM
I really want to learn how to sew. I have a sewing machine and everything but no idea how to really do much with it.
12/9/2010 8:43:24 PM
find a sewing class or a mentor! i know i just started but the bags are NOT hard to make at all. its just a matter of someone showing you the steps and practicing yourself!
12/9/2010 8:50:12 PM
Wolfy...those totes are AWESOME! i saw the pic before i read that you MADE them. i was about to ask where i could get one i love tote bags...i always look at the ones they sell downtown at first friday (in raleigh).anyway!! i got the CUTEST bathing suit (one piece) and bottoms (the top was sold out haha) from target on clearance. i had also bought this calvin k. swimdress on sale from amazon.com, which was cute (posted a few pages back) but didn't look as good on me as the target suits, so i'm sending it back (it was $60 anyways).but just an FYI. target has a lot of new swimsuits online but they still have a bunch of clearance stuff from last season...if anyone is looking for bathing suits on the cheap! the one piece i got was $12! and i also got some hipster swim bottoms that are red and white (luckily i already had a black bandeau top that looks really cute with it). a lot of it is mismatched, but i mean...for $6 or $10 the tops/bottoms are hard to beat price wise. and it is always easy to find a solid color top/bottom at a later date to match. i ordered mine for a cruise i'm leaving for on saturday, but now that i know they fit so well, i think i'll probably grab some more on the cheap for the summer!i know it is cold as shit outside, but just thought i'd share: http://www.target.com/b/10756881[Edited on December 9, 2010 at 9:40 PM. Oh man I used to be a beast at sewing...I reaaaalllyyyy want a new sewing machine! Those totes are cute and super easy to make. It sucks knowing you can make something, but you buy it anyways .I need to find my mom's old machine until I get a new one.
12/9/2010 9:47:31 PM
omg i DREAM of making my own clothes! right now the only things i am interested in practicing my skills on are bags and purse type things. also aprons are cute too!divababy, you should polish up your skills and teach young chicks how to sew! the place i go to charges a mint but its worth it, do it!! (my 2 classes cost $160, 8 hours of instruction and all materials provided. 6 people per class)oh i also want to sign up for some alterations classes, that could definitely save me some money since nothing i buy fits me the way i want!AND i want to take the class that teaches how to sew this
12/9/2010 10:12:56 PM
Self alterations would be tough because of how you take certain measurements....but if you could teach a friend to measure and you sew it could be worth it haha. That's a pretty good idea. I remember in High School I made a cream linen suit (fully lined blazer and lined skirt) and you couldn't even tell it didn't come from a store. Aww aprons are fun too...you can make fun frilly ones
12/9/2010 10:15:15 PM
NCSUWolfy where are you taking classes? I really want to learn how to sew. I used to know how but it's been about 10 years since I've touched a sewing machine. Back to basics for me!
12/10/2010 10:21:53 AM
<----------jealous of people who can sew
12/10/2010 10:23:03 AM
I have this really cool idea for a tote/diaper bag in my head that I REALLY want to figure out how to sew, but I have no idea where to start as far as drafting the pattern and making it into a real bag. I should have taken clothing design in high school instead of AP Biology
12/10/2010 10:24:28 AM
i made a pair of soffee type shorts in middle school.(if you werent in band you had a whole slew of stuff you could choose from, mine were art, cooking, and sewing :beatup )man i wore those things OUT
12/10/2010 10:28:48 AM
^^^^I <3 frilly aprons! Best simple sewing project there is!(the dog gets a matching apron too!)
12/10/2010 11:04:06 AM
haha very cute!Ooooh dog outfits are a great idear! I can never find anything to fit my beast of a girl, and I need stuff for her to wear so people quit calling her a boy!
12/10/2010 11:11:17 AM
as any of you ladies ever tried making your own lingerie?
12/10/2010 11:15:56 AM
^^ I'm working on a line of dog clothes for husky puppies, focusing on large chested breeds! [lame] but its been so fun coming up with stuff. Macy (the hound) doesn't mind wearing clothes or be measured, so its handy to have a live in model!
12/10/2010 11:20:17 AM
I have friends with an English bulldog that will probably buy all the clothes you make.
12/10/2010 11:23:02 AM
^^ That's awesome! It's too bad I'm not still in Japan, I could hook you up with a contact that would sell your clothes over there I'm sure. They don't make many clothes for Shiba Inus there
12/10/2010 11:23:54 AM
^ haha thats so cute!wolfpackgrl i'm taking my classes at a place in houston http://sewcraftyhouston.com/places that that are NOT easy to come by. sewing is a lost art! divababy, show these tww wimmens how to sew!
12/10/2010 11:25:26 AM
Pikey gettin straight up ignored ITT.
12/10/2010 11:29:12 AM
GREEN JAY you will not be dissapoint. i have like 4 or 5 petticoats. i love love love them
12/10/2010 11:34:43 AM
Is there a difference between petticoats and crinolines? I have a bright green one I ordered just because I love them, but it's huuuuge and I would feel silly actually wearing it anywhere. So last year I had a themed costume party just to have an excuse to wear it. Also, regarding the hair issue I posted about, I realized I somehow hadn't thought of French braids. I am going to try those now as well to see how they hold up.

12/10/2010 11:46:11 AM
yeah, i hope the cream won't be too yellow. I have an e-friend that has one of these and loves it. It's gonna look great under my own little sewing project i finished this week... the fabric is more like this that skirt took almost 6 yards of fabric!! i have a funny strip left over though. I've got a black cardi with cream lace i never wear and a michael kors clutch in cream leather i haven't used, though i've had it a year. and cream lace leggings, which i like. this is gonna be one hell of an outfit LOL
12/10/2010 11:52:55 AM
I have two aprons and I loveeeeeeeee themMine are very similar to these (except the cupcakes look different on mine and the flower pattern on the green one is a little different):I have only cross-stitched before but I'm sure these would be really easy to make
12/10/2010 11:56:59 AM
OOOH! I want those aprons.
12/10/2010 11:57:31 AM
meh i'm not getting the dress, the stupid petticoat was 100 bucks and the website won't take my order and i don't wanna call

I like this and the cupcake one you posted. But I'd be afraid to cook in these! These make me want a boyfriend to cook for.
12/10/2010 12:08:51 PM
I have been wanting a cute apron for a while now. And those are surprisingly cheap. I am going to ask for one for Christmas. (assuming I still have people left to ask for things; I think I do)
12/10/2010 12:16:42 PM
Those are awesome!I just picked up this one for one of my sisters:
12/10/2010 12:37:39 PM
wow those aprons are super cute!! good value too!
12/10/2010 12:59:10 PM
Might be dating myself but....did any of you ladies play with these dolls when you were little? I was so excited to find them because these are the two that I REALLY remember playing with (besides Ice Capades Barbie). Maya chose the Rocker barbie so she will get that one for Christmas (the other is Orion's). I boycotted barbies for some reason at 7 and did not pick them up and play with them again until I was about too old (about 10 or 11).[Edited on December 10, 2010 at 1:10 PM. Reason : Orion]
12/10/2010 1:09:12 PM
The aprons are good quality for the price, and they are great to wash. Plus, the type of material is awesome because it catches things but they brush off really well (if that makes sense). Some of them have towel loops, too
12/10/2010 1:16:52 PM
we always got the holiday barbies every year, but weren't allowed to play with them. They had to stay in their boxes cause they were only for looks.
12/10/2010 1:20:56 PM
sooo I really shouldn't do this but I'm buying both of the pair of shoes at the top of the page. I went to buy the ones everyone likes and they were sold out and it is showing that I can buy them now. MERRY CHRISTMAS self GRRRR. I was wrong so sad.[Edited on December 10, 2010 at 3:30 PM. Reason : really are sold out ]

I'm trying to find a pair of skinny jeans. I really hate the style in general (just my taste, nothing against y'all that like and wear them), but it will be a lot easier wearing boots over jeans if I have a pair of skinny's. So I went and got a size 6. They were wayyy tight, so I exchanged them for a size 8. Well the 8 is huge. I'm talking fall-off-my-butt, saggy-til-my-knees kinda huge. I don't get the enormous difference between the 6 and 8. Is it just the cut of skinny jeans? Should I go back to the 6 and try to stretch them out? The 8's are useless for me, and I am not entirely comfortable wearing the 6's in public (having my bad self-image and all). Any tips on what to do, and where to buy?
12/10/2010 4:13:37 PM
Well my experience with denim is that you wanna buy it tight because it will definitely stretch throughout the day (at least good denim will). Move around and sit down in them and see if that helps!
12/10/2010 4:45:17 PM
ugh i have the same problem with my skinny jeansthey fit normal from the knees down but the thighs are tight as fuck and the waist stretches out.. umm hello wtf?? why the hell would you make jeans with a waist that stretches out but make the thighs so dang tight??im scared to wash them because they finally fit OKAY now (with a belt cinching them tighter at the waist) but im scare i wont be able to get them back over my thighs if i wash them.. must avoid the dryer!
