You got me there. We need you to stop shitting your pants long enough to win a home game. Very relevant. Guess if you fail you're irrelevant again and Burnley becomes relevant.

wazza admits club is a shambles and this season is bad and a lot of work needs to be doneRibs does the same but apparently he's just mad and lapping up a media shit storm because his team (ahead in the table and in a CL semifinal) is irrelevantmakes sense

So does anyone want that last CL spot? Chelsea drops points at home, United trounced at Goodison, Arsenal lose to an up and down CP team. Spurs could start an all reserve squad tonight and pick up 3 points. the only silver lining from last night is that with Achilles injury CHO is likely to not move to Bayern this summer.
4/23/2019 9:32:05 AM
They wouldn't let him go anyway with the imminent transfer ban imo

Spurs may be closer to United than European elite, but United is closer to Everton than to the top 5. Also who said United has no chance? With the money they have, they will have a chance but they'll have to make better decisions than they have. And without the draw of CL probably.

4/23/2019 1:03:44 PM
Nah based on 538s team ratings. The top 4 teams (city, BM, pool, Barca) are in the 90s, a clear tier above (over 6 pts separate 5 & 6), then 5-20 in the 80s (Spurs, Chelsea arsenal). United is at 31, Everton is 36. This weekends game certainly impacted the rankings, 4-0 tends to do that. And that post you quoted didn't say "united have no chance", he wondered if they could overcome the flaws he perceives. If he wanted to say they had no chance he would say "united ARE fucked bc..."
4/23/2019 1:19:28 PM
Here we go again with rankings that don't objectively mean shit. Bayern Munich and PSG are great examples of why they are flawed. No it wasn't a simple question it was a presumption and hope that goes on to insult. As I said Spurs fans coming up with so much disrespect is ridiculous considering they are irrelevant when it comes to football. My reaction would be different if it were city or pool fans saying this but its laughable coming from tottenham fans who have not seen their team even lift the mickey mouse cup.
4/23/2019 1:25:09 PM
Well, sure he was hoping and insulting, this is a fan thread, that's what we're supposed to do! He did NOT say no chance, however. Also, counterpoint to my own post! Just read this column about how tough it is to be United manager and how they probably need a better front office, but they also point out that United has 3rd best PL xG since Ole started. As a strong proponent that last year Liverpool is a clear story of Before and After VVD, I should acknowledge that United has been good since Ole, other than this weekend I guess.https://nograssintheclouds.substack.com/p/why-its-impossible-to-manage-manchesterAliso Bayern and PSG are top 6 on 538, are you saying that is huhhly over rating them?[Edited on April 23, 2019 at 1:38 PM. Reason : And rankings objectively mean far more than your or my SUBJECTIVE opinions ]

I have been saying this for a while that club management is a problem so not really surprising. I have been asking for a technical director for years now because Ed only knows to how to profit. The owners only care about commercial revenue and Ed has no clue how to run football operations. Ole is the right driver to lead us. Whether he has the right setup to help him succeed is another matter altogether.

There is no right driver anymore with the salaries and egos of these players.

wazza mad
4/24/2019 11:31:01 AM
It's weird to me how wazza hand waves making a CL semifinal like it's no big deal when we discuss Spurs and Poch's ability. But not making the CL semifinal or quarterfinal is the reason he thinks Bayern and PSG are overrated. Whatever suits the argument I guess.
4/24/2019 12:30:23 PM
Bayern and PSG are expected to make the CL quarters/semis. Tottenham isn't. Where did I question Poch' ability? I simply answered that no I wouldn't take Poch over Ole and very clearly laid out why Ole is the better fit for United. You are literally reacting to one win for Tottenham. Did you conveniently forget how they almost bottled the third place spot? Poch still hasn't won anything so the risk really is similar. What Poch has done at Spurs can't be replicated here simply because the expectations are much different.Ole' lack of experience is really not true. You do realize that Ole has taken a Molde team that has had a history of mediocrity and made them title challengers right? Yes with investment but he played a 17 year old striker as his starter in the title winning season and made tons of their players better. He also topped the Europa league group with Ajax and Celtic in it and beat defending champs Sevilla 1-0 at home before losing 3-0 away. The same Sevilla that went on to beat Liverpool in the final. Does success with Molde translate to success at United? No but he has experience and he has to start somewhere as well. I am more than impressed with Ole' 4 months. I have said it previously that he could go on to lose every match from then till the end and he'd still be the right manager for us. I am sure someone will now bring up Cardiff to refute this point despite Ole mentioning Cardiff wasn't the right fit and he learned from that experience.
4/24/2019 12:49:46 PM
so about four months ago, Poch is easily the most coveted manager, in spite of Ole's massive success at Molde

fucking Everton match keeps haunting us with this laughable Arsenal scoreline. Watch us get a scrappy draw here only to lose to Chelsea.

love the pool fans being pissed. Don't have the ability to win the title on your own so mad at United players. Gentle reminder that this shit United team has still won more trophies than the best team ever assembled in PL history under such a pasunate manager.
4/24/2019 4:48:08 PM
Cool
4/24/2019 4:54:51 PM
Jesus. Remember when De Gea was good?
4/24/2019 8:33:16 PM
How in the fuck is Paul Pogba in the PFA Team of the Year? Were the voters watching him in an alternate dimension?Did they consider Eden Hazard a forward?
4/25/2019 7:59:26 AM
Most goals and assists in the top 5 leagues as centre mid. Yes that includes 7 penos but it is what it is. He is also United's only creative outlet despite having a team of donkeys surrounding him. I am not a big fan of Pogba but I can see why he is on the list. That said I'd have put Erikson in there. That midfield three though looks like it would beat any midfield in the world. That said, Hazard over Mane for me. That is criminal.
4/25/2019 10:24:46 AM
4/25/2019 10:29:27 AM
Not to infight but Salah should have been in over Mane OR Hazard. He's 4th in G+A but also leads the lead in xG+A. His xG actually matches his output but his xA outperforms his actual numbers. There's been lots of talk about his finishing, but teammates are actually holding him back more.Salah didn't finish at the superstar level he did last year (outperformed his xG by almost 7!) but he has been really really good.
4/25/2019 4:30:21 PM
Honestly I thought Salah was already in the team. Just realized he isn't. If we are considering forwards though it is criminal that hazard isn't in there but do you take Sterling off for Salah? I would have put Salah in there but given the choice of Sterling, aguero and mane I'd say Hazard deserves it over Mane. I honestly can't tell if Salah deserves it over Sterling though. It's tough. Both Saha and Sterling have been brilliant. [Edited on April 26, 2019 at 12:14 AM. Reason : A]
4/26/2019 12:13:23 AM
The problem is the Front 3 part of the PFA XI is loaded with deserving talent.Salah statistically has had a great campaign, but compared to last year its not as good (Though last year he was one of the top 3 players in all of Football)
4/26/2019 8:02:15 AM
4/26/2019 10:33:42 AM
Not saying Mane doesn't deserve it because he has been great too but Hazard definitely has been better. I also think the who scored TOTY is a lot more balanced:
4/26/2019 11:06:35 AM
Mane is such a brilliant header
4/26/2019 5:18:36 PM
Missed the hat trick by an inch. Also that last Salah attempt is difference bw last season and this, the far corner finishes from the right side. Also re: Salah
4/26/2019 5:22:25 PM
We just trying to catch up in GD haha
4/26/2019 9:46:28 PM
Good thing we didn't hire that Argentinian driver. I am sure ribs will disappear till they eek out a win again.
