Kd had 1 assist combined in games 1 and 2 of the Houston series. That's versatility.

KD may be a more versatile scorer, but Lebron is a way more versatile excuse-maker and at finding ways to lose NBA titles.

KD passes the ball about as well as Kobe....i.e. when it’s a last resort and he can’t get off a shot. He might go down as one of the greatest scorers in the history of the game and he can get rebounds because he’s tall as fuck...but he has about as much versatility as Shaq. That’s why he’ll never go down as an all time great.

This playoffs will probably be remembered for Lebron putting on one of the greatest shows ever and running out of gas against a vastly superior team.

I don't think hiding it is lame. That is smart if you're going to play through it. I think it's lame as fuck to come out to the post-series press conference in a cast and be like "MY HAND IS BROKE BUT IT'S TOTALLY NOT AN EXCUSE FOR LOSING".

I honestly don’t think he was using that as an excuse, as I figure that he knew the outcome of that series before it started

they for damn sure didn’t lose because of him

One of the dumbest sports things are the people that think it’s better to be like KD(3-0) vs LeBron or Montana(4-0) v Brady, saying being undefeated is somehow better in relation to championships. Not even making it has to be worse than making it and losing. It’s such dumb logic.

That's not how competing works, and I can't imagine that's how LeBron works. If JR didn't JR we might be in a different place now.

KD isn’t 3-0 against Lebron. He never claimed to be the best player or made bold proclamations about his career like Lebron did. He’s a great player and he’s playing better than Lebron right know and had the rings and award to show it. Only Lebron apologists continue to claim he’s the GOAT and better than Jordan. It’s pathetic.

It sure does seem to bother you when the best player admits that he's the best player. And Lebron has never said he's the best player of all time, he's just pointed out the fact that he has been the best player in the league for quite some time.

He did have a fantastic playoffs, until he made that stupid decision. He was the only reason that team was there (like many of his finals before), and he does that. So dumb. But yeah, incredible playoffs before that for sure.

he had an all-time great playoffs regardless of any injury sustained after Game 1

I realize that you’re a charter member of the, “I Don’t Read Too Good” Club, but come on, man

his playoff resume gets zero demerit based on injury. it will always be an all-time great playoffs.

You keep saying "injury" glossing over the fact that the dude punched a whiteboard after game 1, injuring himself, and effectively giving his team 0 chance to win the series. He definitely gets a demerit for that action. I guess since you "love" the dude you can't be objective when it comes to him, but history won't have that problem.

you’re still having issues with reading, but check out his stats in games 2-4 and make the argument that that’s why the Cavs lost the series

here’s a hint: they had no chance of winning the series regardless of any injury to his hand

So no demerit for the best player in the league who dragged his team to the finals, injuring himself after game 1 by punching a whiteboard in frustration, because they had no chance to win anyway. Great argument.

I think he lessened his team's chances of winning by punching a whiteboard. i'd like to hear someone argue otherwise.

So, who is LA willing to give up in return for Leonard? Almost certainly will have to part with multiple good young players and a draft pick or 2. Ball? Ingram? Kuzma?

I know that, I'm saying it will probably take 2 of them + picks to get him.

Also LA needs to get this shit done before free agency if they want to build an instant super team with him + James and George.

Lebron is the only guy you don't trade for Kawhi.

He's in a group with KD/Harden/Paul/Westbrook/Davis that you do anything to get on your team. And he's only 26. Maybe you don't give up an Embiid/Giannis/Porzingis for him because they are a few years younger and have "unicorn status"...but even that's debatable.

He's the one guy that can really throw the Lebron-free agency for a loop. Lebron should not consider LA...but if they can get Kawhi, then he should immediately pack his bags for Tinsel Town.

^^if I'm any team other than the Lakers, I wouldn't throw much at all at the Spurs for what's going to be a rental for a year.

That said, I think the Lakers will have to part with some pretty good pieces to get him, because Pop isn't going to just give him away (especially to a conference rival like the Lakers.). If somebody like Boston makes a halfway decent offer for him, I'd expect the Spurs to send him East rather than ship him to the Lakers.

Also, I really think there LeBron free agency is overblown this time around. It really seems like it's gonna be between the Lakers and the Cavs. Philadelphia is just a horrible fit for LeBron and teams like Houston and Boston and other playoff teams would have to completely gut their teams to sign him.

I could see LeBron signing with the Lakers even if they don't get PG (a definite possibility) and then LA just using the rest of their cap space on one year deals rather than trading away their young players to get Leonard, then just signing him next year when he's a free agent. Clearly not ideal from LBJ's perspective, but it's still probably better than the best team Cleveland can put together.
