You left off porzingis.

I think you need durant, Anthony, kp frontcourt. They can all score inside and out. Durant and kp protect the rim. They all three rebound well enough.

You don't need any fancy guard play. Just some distributors who can't be left wide open and aren't huge defensive liabilities.

Durant in new york would be quite marketable and he's really fallen off in that department. It's all under armour vs jordan line right now. Nike has kinda taken the back burner and that could really hurt durants pockets.

The Lakers are too far off. We don't know if Deangelo is good yet and they don't really have any other pieces except nance.

Lakers can build a franchise completely from free agents
They could easily spend 80 milllion before getting into luxury tax which they can afford. They literally can sign everybody.

They've got about $70m in cap room. I don't think that's enough to put together a very good team.

They can't go into luxury tax they can only use their cap room

Lebron likes to play hero ball during difficult time, as he did last yr without Irving and Love.

Yeah I don't think love being out affects anything much.

Cavs are still favored. I really hope they win tonight or Lebron is going to get even more ridiculous criticism

Funny how 2 minutes of the 1st quarter can change the narrative from "GSW in 4 or 5 max" to "Cleveland could make this a 7 game series!"

Well i knew we needed to wait till after game 3 to see if this was gonna be a homecourt series like toronto. Maybe cleveland is just a homecourt team

Warriors just waiting for their bench to dominate Cleveland's bench, since the Splash Brothers haven't done shit this series.

Lebron knows what it takes to win this game, what he has to do, what buttons he has to push on his teammates. But are his teammates cut out for this shit?

Seems like the best possible collection of talent around Lebron, assuming a 15-man roster including him, would be:

- (1) Lebron
- (3) or (4) PF/Cs who can rebound and block, decent defense. Offense is optional.
- (1) or (2) PGs, preferably smart veterans
- (9) SG/SF who can shoot 3's

So all Cleveland needs to do to win:
1. Force 20% or less from 3
2. Have GSW's top 3 players play like shit, including force curry to have more turnovers then points
3. Not play Kevin Love.

I'll glad we have an interesting game 4 to look forward.

^ basically

part of me wonders if LeBron played soft the first two games to conserve energy. They went up 2-1 last year and got gassed pretty quickly.

This is the type of games i was expecting in terms of physicality, rebounding, etc

Cleveland is a much tougher team than gsw. they can't just try to run and gun and beat them that is ludicrous

That alley oop

And loved Lebron stuffing Steph on the dead ball dunk attempt. Curry with another Finals clunker..although it didn't look quite as bad as he got to pad his stats once they got down 20+.

The first couple of games were it replicable. Barbosa and Livingston couldn't miss, Draymond was knocking down a bunch of awful looks, and the Cavs got nothing from their bench or from JR. That wasn't going to happen 3 game in a row.

The first two games of the series the Warriors aren't this good, the Cavs aren't this bad. Game 3 the Warriors aren't this bad, the Cavs are this good at home anyway.

Curry has not played well yet, I think he's just physically cooked. The OKC series really took a lot out of him. He'll have some moments and have at least one 30 point game, but he's not going to dominate this series.

The series doesn't really start until somebody wins on the road, blah blah blah.

I still like Cleveland in 6.

So honestly that is how I expected cleveland to typically play this series. Shooting 3s and pounding the offensive glass. Not necessarily that effective but that style.

I expected gsw to have trouble shooting and for them to turn the ball over against clevelands pressure.

I didn't expect 18 turnovers on 9-33 shooting every game, but I expected cleveland to make things difficult on them so that we'd get 97-93 type slugfests.

I expected curry to struggle again in the finals much like he did last year. The stage is just so huge and that tends to cause problems for shooters due to all the pressure.

Cleveland absolutely should have won game 1 based on the way gsw played. That was a big choke.

I've never been so perplexed by a series. It feels like clev has every reason to smoke them again at home.

Klays injury can't be understated enough. Bogut only played 12 mins, is he wearing down? If it's a war of attrition i like clevelands chances a little more.

I really dont know what to think of all this. Why are the teams looking SO different from game to game?

I'll go cleveland 103-98 for game 4. Hopefully a close game either way sick of these blowouts

Cavs is the eastern OKC. OKC dies and passes the torch to cavs. Cavs will fight with GSW till the last minute and fire up every bullet they have. They will also use their home court advantage to the maximum. GSW want to swallow them and end the series as quickly as possible but they have trouble now. Cavs is bouncing back. Looks like they find their way of winning now and refuse to be knocked out.

The splash brothers are day dreaming now. They seem to need more time to adjust.

Damn Kurtis.

^ I enjoy watching good basketball. Watching Kyrie shake up Curry and big men on switches is impressive...as is his ability to finish at the time amongst giants. He is gifted (and played like shit in the first two games). Watching old man Jefferson and Thompson scrap for rebounds and loose balls is entertaining. Watching Lebron sky high and throw down an amazing alley-oop is awesome. On the flip side...watching the Warriors play well is extremely entertaining...they just didn't do it last night.

Saying the playoffs has been a bore means you are just a casual basketball fan.

To be fair, a good bit of the eastern conference playoffs were boring. And I'd consider these finals to be boring so far. I don't consider 2 curb stompings to be entertaining, no matter how good the winning team plays.

Curry did not play well and seemed gassed, but he was being held a lot by defenders with no call. He'd try to run through the lane and get held by one defender, but then when they switched the next defender would hold him for a second too.

^^ You have to look back at the 3rd qtr. If it's more than 15 pts gap at the end of the 3rd, very likely it's gonna be 30 pts difference towards the final result. Usually the team on the road will surrender and start preparing for the next one.

First, is this supposed to be an insult. I will be the first to recognize that I am the prototypical casual sports fan. We call them "priorities" in the adult world.

Second, I didn't mention anything about the players' abilities. Both of these teams are remarkable and this series has the 2 best players in the NBA. But you cant rationally argue that the games would be more compelling if they weren't over by the third quarter.

I mean, this has nothing to do with how intense of a basketball fan you are.

Yeah the entertainment of the playoffs has been pretty low on a game to game basis.

The quality of play has been high but there just haven't been enough close games.

Other than okc-gsw and okc-sas i haven't enjoyed really any series and I'm about as big of an nba fan as you are gonna find.

I mean miami v charlotte was an absolute travesty for close interesting games and it went 7. Overall, there have been way too many blowouts.

I love watching cleveland get hot last night in the first and then gsw fight back in the 2nd. But then they got rolled in the 3rd and never got back into the game...

That's not nearly as interesting as okc vs gsw game 6

I really feel like cleveland needed a game or two to understand the kind of commitment it takes to guard golden state.

That was just a totally different commitment to defense. When they had guys like Delly and shumpert last year those guys are used to playing scrappy.

I don't think you can put love back in that lineup. He's just a clear issue vs golden state

Curry also acts like he's being held on every play. He's as bad as Harden. He'll purposely get tangled up and then flail his arms like he got shot. Remember when he hooked arms with Lebron and held it there until they both fell down...textbook for shit he does while running around on screens.

Does he get held every now and then?? Sure. But that's what happens when you cry wolf.

And in general...the refs are letting them play in the playoffs. There are tons of calls that are being "missed" on both sides. Personally, I'm enjoying it. I hate whistle fests.

Curry is getting the superstar treatment with Klay on the bench. He's gotten away with at least 2 blatant fouls.
