I don't think Indiana has a shot at beating us now. I don't think we'll lose another game this season!

But seriously, who would have thought at thirteen turnovers would kill you...

LOL, this team was preseason #6 nationally and the favorite to win the ACC. What a joke.

At least we made the 2nd round

All these missed free throws kill me. Makes me yearn for the Sendek era.

But really, that's yet another lesson in "why you have to perform in the first half". Even a 50-point 2nd half is too little, too late.

I'll miss Howell. I'll miss Wood, defensive shortcomings and all. I won't miss Leslie. I've gotten used to missing the good version of Brown already as he hasn't been seen since the injury.

season was soooooo dissapointing. I'm really looking into some analysis as to what went wrong.

What did go wrong?

My thoughts:

-Rod did not produce like we thought he would. ( no fault of the staff)

-TJ Warren was underused (some fault to the staff)

-Lewis was obviously underused (some fault to the staff)

-Something happend to Zo' shot (no fault to the staff)

-horrendous defensive efforts (some fault to the staff and Cj)

-uhhh, CJL?

It's really as simple as the team not thinking they needed to play defense.

Despite the horrible effort, a few more free throws would have won the game for us.

All season I've been waiting for this team to kick it in to gear.

Zo/CJL are both idiots.

Good riddance.

we aren't as good as everyone thought we were? Pretty easy analysis if you ask me. Zo isn't a great point guard, more of a combo guard. CJ is 6'9, wire thin and without any kind of real position. Wood does nothing but shoot set 3's, Howell is extremely undersized, but a bull. You need LEGIT pieces to be really good, and we don't have them. I mean, look at Duke. 6'11 skilled big man, 6'10 shooter/rebounder surrounded by great shooters and a dynamic point guard. Miami...a coupld legit 6'9-6'10 big men, best PG in College, dominant senior defender, and a couple shooters. You have to be great all around to be a great team. We're not even "Great" at one position.

If Zo would have hit that 3, I really think we would have won. We had all the momentum there and after that miss and bad foul call, we were clawing from behind for 2 minutes.

Gott is still the best coach we've had in a long time. We should be a 8-9 seed again next year, which would be a great accomplishment.

those officials need to be suspended. we played like shit in the first half but that does not make it ok for them to steal the game from us in the 2nd half. now that I've had time to cool down I realize that the game is 40 minutes and we made up for it with a great 2nd half. the referees blew call after call down the stretch. it was an obvious fix.

this was not just 1 or 2 missed calls. It was about 10 bad calls in a row in the last 4 minutes of that game that decided the game.

1.leslie got plowed out of bounds on the free throw rebound no call
2. ball went out off of temple clearly and they give it to them
3. wood clean strip foul call
4. leslie phantom foul after missed 3
5. brown blocking foul on the after wyatt ran out the sideline
6. wood fouled on missed 3
7. warren clean block
8. wyatt push off before his corner 3
9. purvis draws charge called a block

tale of two halves for the refs, for both teams: Temple 2 FTs in the first half, 31 in the second; State 4 FTs in first, 12 in second.

Even taking out the 14 that Temple took when we really started fouling with less than 2:30 left, that still puts the refs being super inconsistent. Regardless of who won, this cant happen. You should have to adjust mid game to the rules tightening.

Missed free throws
Laziness on CJ's part throughout the season
Laziness on TJ's part in the early season
Inconsistency from Purvis
Vandenburg (everything)
Defensive ineptitude on Wood's part
Brown's injury
Poor road performance

I could go on.

^^ And that is exactly why we were supposed to have a good year. We were supposed to be "mature." Miami did what we were expected to do. What a disappointment. Every game we would have a brain fart, every fucking game.

Different season, same old shit.

Sucks because we have nothing to look forward to. Baseball team has already underwhelmed and will not meet preseason hype. Football team will be lucky to go to a bowl even with a LOL schedule and 8 home games. Basketball team next year will be lucky to finish top 6 in the new, brutal ACC. We are the Chicago Cubs of the NCAA. NC State Cubs/Chicago Wolfpack.

Hope Temple can knock of IU just top make us feel better about this loss.

I think IU destroys Temple.

Oladipo will probably shut down Wyatt single-handedly. Zeller won't even be challenged in the paint. I'd love to be wrong, but I don't see it being close.

Our football team will probably overachieve and get people to start saying "We're a football school now!!" again like when Amato was here, only to go right back to the dregs in a couple years.

I picked Temple, but only because I'm not an idiot like TreeTwista and can recognize that we need to work on some things. I work with all State grads who picked State over Indiana, so my bracket is looking fantastic.

In general, I'm guessing alot of people have more than 1 bracket with one having nc state going far and another that was more realistic.

What a disappointing loss...

I had us going one round further than we did that's pretty much how it should always go for your home team. Multiple brackets are for pansies.

"He's really crafty," NC State's Scott Brown said. "He was able to draw the foul and get to the line. Anytime you shoot 14 free throws in a game, that's going to help you. He's a good player, and that's what makes them go."

That game represented everything that frustrates the crap out of me with Wood. Not saying he was wholly responsible for the loss or anything.
