Bye Bye United Miles and Chase UR points...http://millionmilesecrets.com/2013/11/01/big-united-miles-devaluation-coach-increases-slightly-but-star-alliance-awards-double/

Glad I sold off all my united miles a few months ago.I'm still fine with using my Chase UR pts for baller Hyatt hotel stays.
11/3/2013 12:33:23 PM
sucks, United used to be one of the best programs as far as availability and redemption rate.

I just recently realized AmEx now only offers companion certificate to Platinum members now, and only on the renewal date (previously they sent them to Gold members every year). I was recently talking to a CSR bitching about a fraudulent charge when they thanked me for my 5 years of loyalty (on my Gold Skymiles card). Do you think I could score a companion cert right away if I call and offer to upgrade with the threat of cancelling my card altogether otherwise?
11/4/2013 5:57:28 PM
Anyone ever used a companion cert? I hear they're a bitch.
11/4/2013 9:02:49 PM
That's another valid question; I haven't even done my reading on them
11/4/2013 11:12:55 PM
Just called to cancel my two citi AA personal cards before my free year was upWas able to get a statement credit for the annual fee on each cardOne card also gives me an extra 750 miles after I spend 750The other cards gives me an extra 1000 miles after I spend 1000 plus 3x on gas, groceries, restaurants, and dept stores
11/6/2013 2:22:44 PM
Boom. Just got the 2 additional SW cards, after closing the other 2 a few months ago
11/6/2013 3:33:00 PM
They still give the 50k bonus even after having a different card open earlier?
11/6/2013 3:35:47 PM
Why wouldn't they? As you said, it's a different card.
11/6/2013 4:05:34 PM
For some reason I didn't think they give the SW bonus for more than one card. That said I just signed up for the plus[Edited on November 6, 2013 at 4:27 PM. Reason : ]
11/6/2013 4:20:01 PM
Heh, It's pretty common to get it on multiple cards for the comp pass.
11/6/2013 5:19:42 PM
I applied for 2 on the 31st...approved instantly for the plus, pending decision on the business...those bastards better give it to me, OR ELSE
11/6/2013 5:21:19 PM
I will be travelling to India soon and need to buy the 2 round trip tickets. What credit card is giving the best cash back/points/miles etc?
11/8/2013 9:05:08 AM
Depends on your carrier, but I'll go ahead and say Chase Ink most likely
11/8/2013 12:49:12 PM
I'm a dumbass and forgot the annual fee doesn't count toward the spending requirement, luckily Chase was nice enough to make an exception.
11/8/2013 12:51:29 PM
Bah, I can't link my citi business card to my citi personal account. So annoying...
11/10/2013 8:01:07 PM
^ Chase was able combine the two accounts after calling the number on the back of my the business card. Citi can't do the same?
11/10/2013 8:14:26 PM
so I got the Citi AA card and im about to hit the year mark. I called in to cancel it, and they said that if I wait until the year mark, they'll let me switch over to another no-fee card, keeping my credit history with them, and as long as its within 37 days of the annual fee hitting, they'll refund the fee back to me. So question is, which Citi no-fee card should I switch to?
11/10/2013 8:21:05 PM
Forward if you don't already have it.
11/10/2013 8:48:53 PM
^^^ Correct^^ http://creditcards.citicards.com/usc/thankyou/Preferred/2013/Oct/external/default.htm?BTData=FE9%2EB%2EB4f%2EJ%2EBb3%2EMX4x%2EOUg%2EfBm%2Egix%2EBj%2ECd%2EGy&app=UNSOL&sc=1NMZAV43&m=YCJ6111111W&cmp=AFA[Edited on November 10, 2013 at 9:38 PM. Reason : ]

Why would you use a service that is specifically designed to fuck you out of your wealth?Do you really think you can beat the house? The whole system is designed to exploit weaknesses in your human psyche. Here's my strategy: Go fuck yourselfIf they take Visa, prolly not selling anything anyone with brains would be interested in.

So I am trying to book a few hotel rooms, I am looking at the 1:1 transfer between my Chase Sapphire and Hyatt and that the Hyatt hotels are way nicer for the amount of points. (5k points a night for a hotel vs 15k for a similar Marriott)Supposedly you earn the points much slower at Hyatt, but I think I can use these points I already have and get WAY more hotel from Hyatt than Marriott if I am figuring this right.
11/10/2013 10:46:41 PM
Yeah, I've heard that Hyatt is pretty baller. I have about 80K UR chase pts I may hold onto for future travel and looking forward to my 2 free room certificates as well.
11/10/2013 11:41:21 PM
From what I can tell a Category 1 Hyatt (5k/nt) is comparable to like a SpringHill suites which is usually 3 or higher on Marriott (20k/nt). The category 2-4 Hyatts look like 4-5 on Marriott.
11/11/2013 10:11:34 AM
Well no doubt credit card points (especially Chase UR) are worth more than Hotel points. Marriott are worth about 6 cents/point...whike I just got a quote for >1.5 cents/point for my Chase UR points.I was about to sell my Chase points but I may hang on to them if I can get rooms for ~$75 worth of points per night. What are some other good uses for them?
11/11/2013 10:30:24 AM
the fuck is going on with jcgolden?
11/11/2013 11:04:07 AM
Don't mind him. It's just his yearly rant.
11/11/2013 11:06:21 AM
^^ he's a troll. ignore him.^ oops missed a decimal point surprised you couldn't tell what I was trying to say!]
11/11/2013 11:43:03 AM
Oh, well I'd say they are worth slightly more than that, but not by much.
11/11/2013 11:45:10 AM
That's what R2C pays for them...but I'd agree they're worth a bit more than that.
11/11/2013 11:52:51 AM
You prefer them over Bruce?Anyone buying US Air miles?[Edited on November 11, 2013 at 12:00 PM. Reason : ]
11/11/2013 11:59:43 AM
I've caught Bruce in a crunch a few times and gotten good money from him.[Edited on November 11, 2013 at 12:26 PM. Reason : ]
11/11/2013 12:26:23 PM
God damn...now Hyatt!http://hyatthotels.hyatt.com/partnerlandingpage/en/goldpassport/award-chart-changes/faqs.htmlI'm expecting American Airlines to fuck me next.
11/11/2013 5:59:58 PM
^Wow that stinks. Good thing I burned through points and reward nights at the Park Hyatt Paris last month. With the new category point requirements I would've had to pay for a couple of nights instead of the entire stay being free.
11/11/2013 6:13:43 PM
This is one reason why i sell my points ASAP
11/11/2013 6:27:41 PM
Hmmmm. What's the going rate for chase ur pts now?
11/11/2013 9:18:17 PM
Why sell points vs. taking them as a bill credit?
11/11/2013 9:36:37 PM
Higher return
11/11/2013 10:07:18 PM
^^^
11/11/2013 10:20:36 PM
From?
11/11/2013 10:51:56 PM
I've only ever sold to Bruce.
11/12/2013 6:18:12 AM
as have I - he's usually willing to up his initial price, especially if another website offers more
11/12/2013 1:14:11 PM
^ What other websites do you use, besides R2C?Has anyone heard anything on their waitlisted Southwest business cards yet?
11/13/2013 12:06:47 PM
just got a targeted offer for a BoA Cash Rewards Visa - $100 bonus after $500 spend, 1% cash back on everything, 2% on groceries, 3% on gas. 10% extra bonus (on cash back) if directed to a BoA account. No annual fee. never done a cash-back rewards card (besides my 5/3 Mastercard which is a POS), is this worth it for the $100 bonus?
11/13/2013 12:21:11 PM
^^ I still have nothing from them...I applied on the 31st
11/13/2013 12:30:44 PM
I just use my sellmyrewards and whatever google comes up with
11/13/2013 1:53:00 PM
^ Have you bought or sold with sellmyrewards.com? They pay 1.6 cents on 75K chase UR points.
11/13/2013 3:43:09 PM
No I havent, but I don't have those kind of rewards
11/13/2013 3:53:22 PM
this is interesting (from http://thepointsguy.com/2013/07/top-10-almost-too-good-to-be-true-credit-card-perks/)
