The Braves just need to shut Hanson down. Dude is doing nothing to help the team and I wonder if he is hiding an injury.

Braves will run into the Phillies big arms this weekend so it'll be interesting to see if they can do anything. Team has completely shut down offensively other than a couple guys. Need to flip the switch or they'll be watching the Pirates and Cards taking both WC spots.

Uggla officially benched now and the Braves picked up Jeff Baker. Pretty lame news on Baker, pretty awesome news on Uggla. Sounds like Johnson/Constanza/maybe Hinske will platoon in left while Prado gets most of the 2B starts. Wonder if they let Janish play some 2B when Simmons gets back since Janish has played pretty well since coming over. Gotta hang on to that wild card lead.

^ Hadn't heard that. Almost sounds like an excuse for not bringing him into the rotation sooner. It seemed like they only brought Medlen into the rotation out of need (when Hanson went down shortly after banishing Delgado to the minors and after JJ imploded). There definitely was not a plan communicated that I saw, but oh well I am just glad he's had success.

Cannot believe how awful the offense is especially with RISP. Was listening to today's game around lunch on the radio and they left damn 9 runners on base in the 1st 4 innings. They had bases loaded with no outs, did not score, then bases loaded with 1 out, did not score.

The team is like 1 for it's last 30 with RISP and on that hit, no one scored. Crazy. Thank goodness Hudson and Minor both threw jems.

This Braves team is so insanely inconsistent that it is hard to even follow. They were outscored in that Brewer series 17-3. They scored 3 damn runs in 3 games and managed to blow leads in two of those games (thanks Venters and Maholm).

Honestly if they don't play well this weekend, they may actually pull off another Sept collapse.

^ there are a lot of people in Wilmington not very happy about this since it'll be public money used for the stadium. I doubt it passes and the Braves will have to find a new location. It is stupid to use public money to build stadiums especially for minor league teams IMO.

Awesome weekend for the Braves. Winning two nail biters and then beating the front runner for the NL Cy Young. Pretty damn sweet. Nats have a tough road ahead to close the season and it's still not inconceivable that they could be caught. Highly unlikely, but a fan can hope. Braves up 7 games now on Cards for the 1st WC spot.
