i've basically come to two conclusions:1. It's way too bleak. It's not just the most depressing super-hero movie, but it may make the most hopeless all-time list. As a result, it lost that Batman "feel" that the first two had.2. As a corollary, they seemed to lose sight of the fact that traditionally, Batman has been the dominant personality, while Bruce was more of a front. That completely changed this time around, and I don't think for the better. Bruce didn't want to be Batman... whereas, in every popular depiction of the character, Batman didn't want to be Bruce. I respect the change, but it took something away from the magic of it all.

I just watched it for the second time two days ago. I just don't like the 3rd as much.Yeah, it had a bit of the 3rd Matrix movie's problem in that the movie was named "The Matrix" and then there's 5 minutes of the actual matrix in the movie. But I guess the movie wasn't named Batman was it.That and I didn't really care for the story. Just didn't do it for me.[Edited on January 5, 2013 at 12:21 PM. Reason : -]

So, in Nolan's trilogy he was only Batman for something like a year, left for 8 years, and then came back for TDKR. They treated it like hed been Batman for a longer time. Almost like there should have been at least a few batman movies between TDK and TDKR.

they should bring back Keaton

The more I think on this movie the more I don't like it. But it's a movie I really want to like. In addition to the completely irrelevant bad guy that totally undid how cool Bane was, the whole confession letter / blackgate thing entirely undid the last movie, and notin a kind of neat deconstructive way of peeling Batman and the city's reality apart, but just a short little scene where he reads some letter and magically turns the city violent. I guess my hatred of that came from how Anakin turned pure evil in the span of 15 seconds and swearing fealty to the emperor after seeing some retarded visions. I think how the Joker turns Harvey is one of the better good-to-evil moments, and think that that part was underrated. That being said I really liked the ending, as cheesy as it was. I'm really hoping the next reboot delves deeper into the core of batman, really driving more into him using fear and the shadows more than gadgets / public brawls. Maybe drive deeper into his pretty much insanity.

I didn't realize this was the end of a trilogy. Didn't feel like an end. Felt like a filler/bridge for another movie. The second one was really special. The first one was pretty good. The third one was average (and probably forgettable).

^^ so IOW, you want it darker. pretty soon we'll have spider-man turning tricks on the corner in perpetual rain and superman living in a coke house

Overheard some dude at the bar other night talking about how Joseph Gordon Levitt was going to be some character named Dark Wing and not Robin. I thought Dark Wing was a cartoon duck??

a darker version? more batman magic? go read a comic bookI can replay this over and over again because I like the ending so much. Nolan said he was going to wrap his version of batman up. I thought he was going kill off batman just judging by how the series was going. These movies to me will be valued on the villains he picked. Besides the joker and catman no one outside the comics(or cartoon) knows who Ra's al Ghul, Bane and especially Talia al Ghul are. They're gutsy choices. He could have butchered all these characters up but he did an alright job fitting it in his version.[Edited on January 8, 2013 at 8:21 AM. Reason : nn]

I re-watched this movie over the holidays and I just want to re-iterate how fucking hot Anne Hathaway was. I knew she was going to crush this role...and she did. And as far as hotness goes in a comic/sci-fi film...she reached my Kate Beckinsale/all leather/Underworld level...which I previously thought was unattainable.

when she is riding the badpod and you really see her curves, oh my oh my. the leather and heels on her are quite nice

I dunno. A reboot would either have to be darker (or just a batman in a different light - more shadowy stuff and less gadgets is all I can imagine), or something completely out of left field. They've done dark batman and campy batman. Joker blowing up people seemed a lot less dark than Bane going around casually breaking everyone's neck. That did make me cringe a little. ^^^^^ I have nothing against the ending. Think it was the best part of the movie. Just like an hour of that movie was off. The in your face occupy stuff was a little annoying - the whole surveillance thing was done a little better. But I am hoping they realize on a reboot to make it different. I had no desire to sit through an hour+ of new but old spiderman origin.

She has some good damn sex with Batman.
7/31/2013 2:22:58 PM
it pretty much suckedi disliked pretty much most of it. several holes that made no sense to me. one was Bane hadnt aged a day it seemed but yet he was supposed to be in 50s or late 40s i guess??
7/31/2013 4:30:15 PM
but you have no problem with a guy running around in a bat suit?
7/31/2013 4:42:02 PM
^well that wasn't really much of an issue in this movie, since this 165 minute long Batman themed movie only had about 30 minutes of a guy running around in a bat suit
