I'd take it. That's at least 2 years out, though.

hes been saying that since he left chelsea...i still am on the fence about that move. yes hes in the top 3 of coaches in the world, but he has jumped ship everywhere hes coached after a few years...i dont want a coach who leaves after a few years. if i know he would stay for at least 10 years then id be happy...cause then the only thing id have to worry about is his inability to care about the youth system at the clubs he manages.which is uniteds big thing. outside of barcelona, united prob has the best youth academy in the world. the EPL is littered with former united youth players and that says a lot about that system. hell a lot of the united team is still comprised of players who have trained through the youth/reserves...and there are a lot of players who arent regular starters who have possible bright futures ahead of them at the club.so id love mourinho for his tactics and his winning. but im not keen on his lack of loyalty and disregard for other facets of the club outside the first team[Edited on August 29, 2010 at 4:11 PM. You could make the argument that aside from the Chelsea --> Inter move he's moved up every single time he's switched teams. The only thing is, whatever team he moves to rises so it always seems like he's at the top. In my opinion, Abramovich was stupid for forcing him out but Ancellotti seems competent. But, in my opinion, Mourinho seems extremely ambitious and if in his mind Man Utd is the best club he could ever hope for, what reason is there to leave as long as he's winning? I actually think it would be a great fit because it doesn't seem like a place he would ever want to leave. The Chelsea to Inter move was a step down and it seems like he did it to pad his resume and say, "this is what I am capable of in an extremely short amount of time." Now he's at Real which is a top 5 world team. Where is there to go after this except ManU?

lolhes def ambitious and that fits the united mold...but im not sold on his loyalty to a club yet...im pretty sure though, that when SAF retires, and mourinho wants the job, then he will be the one to get it.
8/29/2010 4:24:24 PM
this was the guy who had left the inter job before even walking off the pitch in madrid...saying something along the lines of always wanting to leave on top and move on the the next challenge. he can manage a team, though. i do feel like real madrid would be the pinnacle as far as managerial jobs go...outside of the charleston battery job, but i don't think he is qualified for that position...a quick sacking if you ask me[Edited on August 29, 2010 at 4:49 PM. I'm hearing Jurgen Klinsmann's name thrown around a lot for the Battery position. Sources are saying he was spotted at Wet Willie's with Battery brass.

8/31/2010 6:48:37 PM
wow...can't believe he stayed in madrid after the dutch exodus, good pick up
9/1/2010 8:01:47 AM
Not a striker or a left back but it helps, and for 8 mill that's a steal. Harry wanted Scott Parker but he was told yet again they weren't selling so he jumped when VDV hit the market. It's still up in the air whether the paperwork was actually filed in time to get him though. Watch the transfer get refused because it was 5 minutes late or something...
9/1/2010 8:02:20 AM
not a bad pickup, they definitely needed a solid goalscorer though
9/1/2010 8:04:23 AM
u right and that's going to be our ultimate downfallWe have a rag-tag group up front that can get the job done on some nights and then look like crap the next. They're going to have trouble when teams are effectively able to limit their chances.
9/1/2010 8:08:09 AM
my bet is that it's approved, every transfer deadline there's usually 3 or 4 scenarios like this, and they always end up getting approved.
