Cleveland won 66 two years ago with LeBron and The Retard Crewbut I agree, 70 seems a bit optimistic
8/4/2010 4:22:42 PM
I just can't wait to see what kind of team they are when either Wade or LBJ gets hurtAlso the Heat, while having the best trio in the NBA, will definitely have the worst '2nd unit' of any team in the NBAAnd they're gonna have to log a lot of minutes
8/4/2010 4:23:43 PM
Not a big deal if Spoelstra tiers the minutes so one of the big three is almost always on the floor as long as the game is in doubtEven a lineup of Chalmers, House, Miller, Bosh and Big Z isn't that terrible compared to some other second units

8/4/2010 4:52:38 PM
the celtics management fucked up this off season, if they would have upgraded their team somehow, ie gotten rid of the one of the big three and gone for some guys in their low to mid 20s that can develop in to 15-16 ppg scorers then they would have been right back in the hunt but when your team played their hearts out and still came up a little short and is rapidly aging while other teams are upgrading then you are going to go downhill fast
8/4/2010 4:58:25 PM
the celts didnt have a ton of options though they are going to take one more crack at it but yeah they definitely overpaid for Pierce, Allen, and Jermaine.
8/4/2010 5:04:56 PM
they are no doubt thinking that they have a little bit of a window left open and just need to add another piece or two to put themselves over the hump. Kinda similar to what the Spurs and the Pistons did in the last season or two of their "dynasty" runs.I agree that they are going to be up shit's creek without a paddle in a year or two when everyone on their team retires or is too old to play anymore, they have made no effort at all to bring in any sort of youth. Rondo and Big Baby are the only two young players they have who get any sort of worthwhile playing time.Shaq needs to hang it up, he is becoming a little bit of a laughing stock now, just trying to catch on wherever he can fit, in a desperate attempt at chasing down one more ring. Its pretty funny how good his image and respectability was around the league compared to Kobe when he left the Lakers, now their images have switched and kobe looks like the more respected player and teammate

Haslem got busted with a 3rd degree felony's worth of weed, could mean a suspension is coming his wayI cant wait to hear Jim Rome's dumbass talk about this story. He loves to say as many different slang terms for marijuana when he has a story about a player getting busted.
8/16/2010 12:34:44 PM
I like archaic terms for weed, like muggles
8/16/2010 1:15:20 PM
Give him a break he took less money to stay in miami, he had to make up the income somehow.Media always wants to shit on the good guys
8/16/2010 4:36:44 PM
3rd degree felony possession in Florida is simply > 20 gramsProbably just his smoke sackI think we all know what product runs the streets of Miami, and its not weed]
8/16/2010 4:41:28 PM
A felony?!?! For 20 grams of weed?!?!
8/16/2010 4:57:33 PM
seems excessive, doesnt it
8/16/2010 5:52:08 PM
if you want excessive try the guy in singapore that got executed for that shit a couple of years ago
8/16/2010 7:26:25 PM
toucheexcessive by US comparisons i guess
8/16/2010 7:30:07 PM
wow yeah i thought he got caught with pounds when i read 3rd degree felony... wtf

Melo trade talks are currently ramping up. He wants to be moved before the start of training camp. This article summarizes the candidates nicely.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5602165Insider seems to think he'll end up with the Nets.
9/22/2010 8:22:00 AM
RealGM reporting that the Nuggets are exploring 3 way trade talks with the Bulls and Knicks currently. They also have a separate article discussing how far apart Noah and the Bulls are with an extension, but then go on to mention that the Bulls will not include him in any trade talks. It sounds like the Nuggets want Noah, a first rounder, and an expiring contract. You HAVE to make that deal Chicago.

Updated Carmelo rumours per ESPN
9/24/2010 2:38:53 PM
just came in to post thatI really, really hope that happens. It would go a long to correcting MJ's bufoonery this offseason.
9/24/2010 3:57:38 PM
apparently the hang up on the trade is that the Nets want Augustin, but the Bobcats want to keep him to back up Harris
9/24/2010 6:28:36 PM
giving up both favors and harris would be tough for the nets, I can see why they are insisting carmelo sign an extension with them
9/24/2010 8:26:43 PM
Harris has tapered off a lot but he's still a productive player that could possibly raise his game after a season or two under Brown like felton did.Getting rid of diaws shitty play and shitty contract would be amazing.Obviously I'd rather keep augustin than lose him but he hasn't shown much potential (tho he is young) and if he's all that's keeping us from shedding diaw and we get harris it should be a no brainer deal for us.I know the nets are desperate but I like favors potential and just don't think carmelo is worth it... The bulls weren't dumb enough to trade an elite player like noah for him they know they have a chance to be pretty good with their current lineup. The really big news is the heat potentially landing dampier. He's 35 but he's still playing at a really high level and their glaring weakness is not having a legitimate starting center.
9/24/2010 9:30:23 PM
9/24/2010 10:03:57 PM
this is looking more and more like it will actually happenCarmelo better get used to NOT winning. There is no help on that NJ roster and Avery Johnson is your head coach. Good luck with that.Bring on Devin Harris
9/25/2010 9:19:52 AM
Nj added anthony morrow in the offseason and if outlaw can stay healthy (huge if) he's been a productive player. Obviously lopez is one of the better centers in the league...But yeah that's a 30 win team or so
9/25/2010 9:54:44 AM
^^^ No one would trade a guy like Noah straight up for Carmelo, especially when Noah is coming off a breakout year like that. From a business standpoint I get Carmelo, he's a guy that score a lot of points. But from a basketball standpoint he's already in his prime and he hasnt proven that he can be a great player so its just unlikely that it's going to happen. He's a bit of a tease because he's been so phenomenal the past two times he's played for the U.S. world team so it makes you wonder what he can do on a great team, but as far as a #1 offensive option he's a known quantity so there's no reason to trade an elite player like Noah for him.
9/27/2010 8:12:20 PM
I think you're overestimating Noah big time. Or maybe just using the term "elite" a bit loosely. You're also underestimating the value of 30ppg being scored at an efficient rate.I'm not necessarily saying the bulls should give up Noah. There are other factors to consider, contracts, the fact that Noah presents a defensive center much like KG for them to anchor the team, the bulls also have several players that will be able to do what Melo can do (sorta). It isn't an easy decision to make.
9/27/2010 8:32:51 PM
I'd do it for Deng and whatever other filler, but that isn't happening
9/27/2010 9:00:19 PM
Melo tried to play off the trade rumors at media day by saying he never requested a trade. Riiight, you didn't, but all your reps did. Also funny that people were toasting Melo to a new life with the Knicks at his wedding with Nuggets brass right there watching.
9/28/2010 3:12:02 PM
Now Lebron says race has been playing a part in why everyone hates him since joining the Heat.WOWhttp://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2010/09/lebron-james-blames-race-for-backlash-to-espns-the-decision/1
9/30/2010 12:10:33 PM
There is a some truth there.I don't know if it is as big a deal as Maverick and Lebron make it out to be, but I feel like some of the hate was fueled by that. If you put Steve Nash in that exact same scenario he doesn't see nearly the backlash that Bron did.
9/30/2010 12:32:10 PM
^ Because the only difference in each of their situations is their race.
9/30/2010 12:37:10 PM
^^Eh...I dunno about all that...its hard to come up with a good comparison since...all the best players in the NBA are blackBesides, I think generally speaking, most NBA fans by definition aren't prejudiced against black people...now the "college basketball only" fans are another storyI think some of the hate is the fact that he went on national television to shit on Clevelandand not specifically that he left the Cavs, just how he left]
9/30/2010 12:37:46 PM
^^ what part of "exact same" don't you understand?
9/30/2010 12:39:31 PM
race card is always a scape goat and theres no difference here.I don't blame him at all for leaving that shitty franchise; nor do I care that he had a special on ESPN about his decision. ESPN has garbage on 75% of the time anyways.Anyone, white or black, that was supposed to be the next coming of Jordan was going to get the exact reaction he has gotten given his behavior.
9/30/2010 12:45:30 PM
I think if at some point during the offseason, he had told Cleveland that he had enjoyed his 7 years playing for the franchise, etc etc, but that he was going to go off to another team in free agency, the public reaction would've been a lot betterCleveland fans would still be pissed obviously, but at least they would've gotten a heads up...and he still could've done his special, as Knicks, Bulls, Heat and Nets fans were still anxious about the decisionI don't know many people outside of Cleveland who can blame him for leaving, but I know a lot of people who thought he could've gone about it in a much more tactful way
9/30/2010 12:48:01 PM

If Steve Nash tried this he would just be laughed at.[Edited on September 30, 2010 at 2:09 PM. Reason : He'd be lucky to get a 15 minute special on Fox Sports Southwest]

9/30/2010 2:43:15 PM
Dude everyone not in Cleveland is holier than Cleveland
9/30/2010 3:20:31 PM
I'd have to give lebron a C- on pulling the race card here, although granted it was more his agent or whoever, I'm not even sure what the exact argument is but when there are 1000 different opinions on all the different stars of the nba who are black then I don't see how you can complain in one specific instance
9/30/2010 5:50:57 PM
dude was asked his opinion of somethingi commend him for being honest instead of giving the safe answer
