i'm also gonna scoop up those jon spencer reissues
5/21/2010 2:06:16 PM
I would like to see The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion live. I know they're playing the Pitchfork Music Festival, but that's the only date I know from them. For some reason, their website doesn't have any tour dates listed.
5/21/2010 3:46:52 PM
thumbs up
5/21/2010 9:33:54 PM
Would someone please give me some of this Drughorse Collective shit? Specifically the Love Language and the Light Pines?Do they even have albums?
5/22/2010 3:18:56 PM
The Love Language have two albums. The first came out on Bladen County last year. The second comes out on Merge on July 13.The Light Pines have a Drughorse split with Max Indian, but I'm not sure it's in stores.Max Indian and Ryan Gustafson both have records, as does Mount Moriah. ]
5/22/2010 3:51:49 PM
Well, do you have links to these albums, sir?
5/22/2010 4:26:34 PM
Other than the Love Language album (the first one; the second one hasn't leaked yet to my knowledge), you probably aren't going to find any of those albums anywhere online. You probably just have to show up at one of their shows and buy the CD.

For future reference, I'm not going to post links to anything local that can be purchased, especially if it can be purchased in person by the people who made it. Support your local musicians.
5/22/2010 9:14:21 PM
Ryan Gustafson bored me. Still does.Light Pines are good, though.and this new Love Language is the best album I've heard in quite some time.[Edited on May 22, 2010 at 11:02 PM. Reason : asdfddssss]

5/23/2010 2:58:06 PM
^lucky you. "heart to tell" has me longing for more.
5/23/2010 3:45:01 PM
ha, that's one of the weaker jams for me. and it's still stellar.to be honest, a good friend of my fiance's loaned us a hard copy...actual printed and pressed fresh from distributor. no idea how she got it, or from whom she got it. and I'm not telling who she is, either.don't worry, I will buy it.And when is the new Arcade Fire supposed to come out? I need to prepare for the pending immersion.[Edited on May 23, 2010 at 7:16 PM. Reason : asdfddss]

way into this new menomena lp. the harmonies are awesome.
5/25/2010 7:03:22 PM
For some reason I thought Hank III was metal. I picked up the album today. Whoopsie. Not sure if I like or not. I have only listened to 3 songs.
5/25/2010 9:19:01 PM
why on earth
5/25/2010 9:38:20 PM
Haha I know, but I swear someone told me he was and I saw someone post it in here like they were looking forward to it so I was like what heck. Maybe it was just that he was more vulgar. It was an impulse buy at best buy. It was like $9.edit.. ah I see, he played with Superjoint Ritual. That must have been what I heard.[Edited on May 25, 2010 at 9:46 PM. Reason : .]

Hank III has been in at least one metal band. Superjoint Ritual is the one I know. Pretty damned heavy.^YES.[Edited on May 26, 2010 at 9:23 AM. Reason : incredible.]
5/26/2010 9:23:39 AM
^Yeah, so imagine my surprise when the first thing I hear is a fiddle when I pop in the album

August 2ndpre-ordering now
5/27/2010 10:43:31 AM
^yesssssss...first two songs are awesome, but the album cover is pretty bad. to be fair, though, the neon bible cover didn't look very good until i saw the actual physical product. maybe they'll do something cool again for the packaging.
5/27/2010 11:13:58 AM
pre-order came with digital downloads of both songs and a posterand I am about 1,000% sure they are going to offer a special edition soon, but oh well[Edited on May 27, 2010 at 11:33 AM. Reason : not extended]
5/27/2010 11:26:10 AM
^^ I heard it's made out of an actual car.
5/27/2010 6:45:16 PM
I really cant stop listening to that Wolf Parade.
5/27/2010 7:44:11 PM
Schoolkids got in the Arcade Fire double A-side single...I would come in as soon as you can if you want one. When we're out, we're out (and I think we'll be out early tomorrow if not tonight).
5/27/2010 8:12:34 PM
got onerulesstill not sure how i feel about "month of may"also curious as to what the catalog number of this thing is
5/28/2010 3:01:06 AM
I'm gonna try to skip out at some point today and grab one.
5/28/2010 8:23:34 AM
I'm digging the Avi Buffalo album so far. The vocals may erode my interest after a few listens, although 'Truth Sets In' will still remain a regular on rotation.
5/28/2010 8:48:06 AM
The Morning Benders- Big Echo one of, if not, the best albums of 2010.seriously...check it out
5/28/2010 9:11:31 AM
^i think a lot of people already have checked it out...it's pretty good, definitely not the best album of 2010 though^x4 I think I actually like "Month of May" even more than "The Suburbs"...they're both awesome, though.[Edited on May 28, 2010 at 10:29 AM. Reason : .]
5/28/2010 10:28:34 AM
If anybody hasn't heard Cults yet, they're pretty great.
5/28/2010 10:42:04 AM
^That 7" is awesome
5/28/2010 10:45:37 AM
"month of may" vaguely reminds me of "antichrist television blues"
5/28/2010 10:45:52 AM
I could see that. The bass or rhythm guitar (not sure which) is so low and heavy it sounds almost metal. After a few more listens, I changed my mind. I still like "Month of May," but "The Suburbs" is definitely the better song.
