fuck your god damn thread

politics about exposing 18yr old males to toxic levels of radiation, glad to hear you don't give a fuck about people dying for nothing.

to be fair, i have never seen this film

but wikipedia tells me it's just the atomic cafe with all of the funny parts removed

which i think would be quite awful

i know that's the point

but i'd prefer it with the funny parts intact

what is the worst generally accepted as classic film you've ever seen?

nay, the worst 5?

how come someone hasn't told that girl from the wizard she's a terrible singer and needs to stop that shit

tell her to get back to rooting for people playing mario 3, she did that adequately enough

[Edited on June 15, 2010 at 10:10 PM. Reason : also did you know uwe boll made a not terrible movie called rampage? i was shocked]

i can't think of any that are accepted as classics that i really don't like

i just looked at the afi 100, for example, and don't see any i truly dislike

^ because she's a very good singer

i mean, what do you want me to say

that on the waterfront is bad?

'cause it ain't

if i go down the imdb top 250, the first one i come to that i hate is the matrix

but i don't think anyone who's not a total nerd considers that a classic

the fellowship of the ring and the return of the king aren't great, especially compared to the two towers, but it's a stretch to call any of those classics as well

am i up shit creek by purchasing extra ticket so a pixies show on the doolittle tour?

fucking live nation pissed me off with the online sale

i got in at the moment the sale opened, got 5th row from the back seats

out of curiosity, tried again 45 minutes later and got 15th row seats, so i bought another lot

now i've got $400 in pixies tickets and currently im the only one going

it hasnt sold out yet, but it's only been three days for a show in september.

it's a record changer so the spindle is tall

it's a compact so the platter is 7" in diameter

it plays at 33/45/78/16

but it's fully automatic, has settings for 7"/10"/12" (even the AT doesn't have 10"), and has a decent stanton cartridge

^^just curious, are you reading Cloud Atlas because it's the AV Club's next selection for its "wrapped up in books" feature?

p.s. keep reading, it gets better.

No, I've had it for like a year, never read past the first bit, and my friend who picked it up because of the avclub thing reminded me of it.

Is Jaws 19 really the worst Jaws movie? I have never seen any of them.

the answer is D'Angleo's Brown Sugar

and, in keeping with the them of this thread; can you please condescend me, in some fashion?

since that's the intended formula for this.....

Carr Artemus 2x12. EL-84s because they are the heat, this particular model because it'll do AC30 sounds and then kick in a mid-scoop to get a Fender-ish sound, and 2x12 because I like to be right on the edge of breakup and it helps to get the headroom right where I want. I occasionally use a silverface Vibrolux Reverb if I'm going for clean and verby, but that's rare.

^^ The first is the only one worth seeing. The rest are bad, but not entertainingly bad (like Smokey & the Bandit 3). Jaws 19 will be released in 2015...we'll see how it is when it arrives.

^ Of course you would think that's the theme of the thread.

I'm confused. I just watched E.T. from start to finish for the first time ever I think. At the beginning he gets left behind after the spaceship takes off, but later we discover that he can fly (bike scene). Why couldn't he just fly up to the door of the ship at the start of the movie and ask them to let him in?

^There were plenty of trucks to steal in the area. I say E.T. isn't as bright as we want to believe.

yes

but mostly because they discuss it in an mtv2 bumper that i remember vividly

two stoners sitting on a rock

one of whom is espousing on dopes to infinity

and when he's finished, the other pauses, looks at the ground, and says

"dopes to infinity, huh"

in a stoner voice so perfect even the finest dazed & confused extra of them all could not have done better

if i were a stoner

i would be a monster magnet stoner

or a led zep stoner with monster magnet leanings

what i'm saying is led zeppelin posters in my bedroom

monster magnet t-shirts

does that make sense
