In fairness, D. Evans has physical limitations that Glennon does not. Glennon is also playing in a much more conventional offense than D. Evans did.
10/5/2007 9:46:19 AM
^dittoSome of throws that I have seen Glennon make Evans still can't make. Glennon will be 20 - 30 lbs heavier by the time he ever takes a snap in a game. (likely fall of '10 as a redshirt sophomore)
10/5/2007 10:10:38 AM
even though Daniel wasnt an elite QB in regards to recruiting didnt he have some absurd [in a good way] offensive numbers coming straight out of highschool or was that Burke im thinking of
10/5/2007 10:20:05 AM
eh, they both had big hs numbers, but yeah you're thinking of evans.
10/5/2007 10:22:26 AM
yeah, also interesting that burke is now 2nd to evans ... guess they figure beck got his chance and (literally) threw it away.
10/5/2007 10:25:24 AM
pretty sure that's b/c beck's hurt. red tom said last sunday that beck will be the starter again when he gets back.
10/5/2007 10:41:57 AM
I don't see why that would be the case though. If DE plays well and we stay in the game or God-forbid win because he controls the offense, why not let him start?
10/5/2007 12:09:02 PM
TOB said the he wont lose the starting job b/c of an injury

shit, now i hope he starts just for that ^ reason
10/5/2007 3:15:08 PM
Why the Burke dissing? (And if it's becuase you think Glennon is the next Montana, what if he gets hurt?)
10/5/2007 3:24:43 PM
the burke dissing is b/c everything we've seen from burke indicates he's terrible.

Two years ago when Brees was starting for SD, Phil looked like shit when he came in for mop-up.
10/5/2007 3:35:54 PM

Marcus Udell, a 3* CB that originally signed with Alabama two years ago, has said that State is his No. 1 school right now. It would be a good pickup. Do junior college players get a RS year? I think we are the first school interested to offer, but who knows since those profiles aren't updated that often.http://ncstate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=60230&sport=1http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=2734126Ht: 6-foot-1Wt: 195 lbsForty: 4.4 secsSchools of InterestNC StateAlabamaLSUWest VirginiaFloridaFlorida StateClemsonOle MissMississippi State

Of course we are his #1 choice, everyone is going after this kid! From the looks of all those offers he has got I sure do hope that he picks NCSU
10/10/2007 12:17:41 PM
^ WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
10/10/2007 12:51:05 PM
State was his 2nd choice before he signed with Bama. we will get this guy as long as florida doesn't offer.
10/10/2007 1:03:35 PM
^^^ Don't ever go by the 'yes' or 'no' listing on scout or rivals. Half of the time it says yes when they don't have a committable offer... the other half of the time it says 'no' when they do have a committable offer.

new rivals 100 was posted recently, and one good thing and one bad thing if you buy into all of these rankingsmike glennon moved up to the number four pure qb spot in the country and is the number 53 overall prospect in the country now; before was 94 so moved up 41 spots: leads me to believe that he will be the starter from day one when he gets here; has a big arm, very tall, needs a little bulk but easy for him b/c he is not known for his running anyway: supposedly was great at the elite 11 qb camp and most put him on ej manuel's level (who is the number one pure qb and going to florida st.) brandon barnes moved down to number 63 in the rivals 100 and lost his five star rating and is now a four star; still really good but did drop from number 26 on the old rivals 100, down 37 spotsi have watched a lot of film on glennon and he really does appear to have all of the tools; the only tool that you cannot measure on film is his smarts (you can a little but not really) and mental toughness b/c he is just better than most people at the HS level and doesn't have a whole lot to worry about, but overall i really like the kid
10/19/2007 4:03:56 PM
^ I've heard Glennon is mentally tough until the fans start getting down on him. Like if he starts to play poorly one game and the fans boo him on a play or something, he lets it go to his head. This could mean trouble given our fan base.
10/19/2007 4:12:25 PM
Is there where we start the 'bad fans' argument again?
10/19/2007 4:28:40 PM
10/19/2007 4:57:21 PM
^^ No. I'm just saying we have some pretty vocal fans, myself included, and if you play poorly, we're going to let you hear about it.^ So yes, I guess in a round-about way I was saying he's not mentally tough. And I am going on hearsay, but my friend knows a player on Glennon's high school team and that is what he and his family told my friend. Take it for what it is.[Edited on October 19, 2007 at 5:04 PM. ^true, but now he is just still now a 4* athlete. honestly, i don't care where he plays; we could use his athleticism on the field no matter the position; still a great athlete and i can't wait to get him on campus. and with glennon, his brother seems to have mental toughness, as he got benched for a true frosh. at virginia tech and then when he got hurt glennon came in and did a great job last week, albeit against duke. not that it means all that much. i do still think though that glennon will be the starter the second he gets here; he has the physical gifts of beck with regards to being able to make all the throws but is smarter, according to film anywayall this won't matter though without improved o-line play because no play works if you can't block
10/19/2007 8:52:25 PM
A lot of people are saying that Glennon will need at least one year in the weight room before he could become the starter. Please Glennon develop into a Matt Ryan, just don't take 3 years to do so.In regards to Barnes, I think we need to use him just like USC used Reggie Bush. We may be able to hide our o-line's weakness by getting him out into the open field. Run some runs to the wide side of the field with the o-line pulling. Maybe get him on some swing passes out of the backfield, set up some blocks with the WR's and TE and let his speed do the work from there.
10/19/2007 8:59:40 PM
We'll need those guys to step up from day one. Our QBs suck ass. Baker will be coming off major knee surgery. All 3 starting LBs are seniors. We'll need help bad. I look for Glennon, Barnes and Manning to get tons of playing time next year, should be solid players by their junior years.
10/19/2007 9:30:16 PM
Ok, what kind of impact can the 08 class realistically have on football next year?
10/20/2007 9:17:00 AM
^^^kinda like what we SHOULD be doing with Blackmon this year

Packpride says we offered this kid, based solely on physical appearance, he may be a better fit at UNC:
10/23/2007 1:31:27 PM
Jeez, that guy looks like he's from Flashdance. But I could give a shit, COME ON DOWN
10/23/2007 4:18:53 PM
With regard to how will the class of 08 impact next season, the linebackers that hope to arrive in January will be starting from day one barring injury. I can see Irving being the third guy in the LB corp. However, if the two guys don't get here in January, I think Manning will still start from day one but the kid from Shelby won't, but he'll get plenty of snaps as LB has been a killer for us the last 2 seasons. I really don't see anyone other than Barnes getting significant snaps next season, but we'll have to see who TOB gets at the JUCO level, any and all of those guys I'm sure would see serious PT

i hope thats a wrestling uniform

Got a new commitment from a safety in Georgia, Roy Mangram. 2 stars according to Scout but has been offered by South Carolina and Clemson. Also listed Georgia, Georgia Tech and Florida as other schools of interest. Seems like a solid pickup.
