So, which is it with Jr? Does he have to win or come in at least 5th in order to make it to the chase?
9/8/2007 9:56:36 PM
COME ON JEFF GORDON!!! DON'T FALL TO TONY STEWART AND HIS MINI-ME JR!!!!
9/8/2007 11:24:18 PM
9/8/2007 11:30:54 PM
OH SHIT!!! DEI with YET ANOTHER engine failure!! That's 5 DNF's for Jr. this season.
9/8/2007 11:31:26 PM
Wow.Just wow.

Out of curiosity, did ABC stations in other markets cut away from the post race interviews to show other programming or was it just my dumbass ABC station in Winston-Salem?
9/8/2007 11:52:32 PM
just your dumbass station... jk, Charlotte ABC showed it, though.[Edited on September 9, 2007 at 12:03 AM. Reason : ]

Atlanta aired all the interviews.

most used phrase in tattoo parlors in the south over the next 6 months"Just add another 8 right there beside the first one"
9/14/2007 5:47:22 PM
Well, at least they finally decided. However, too bad it couldn't be someting like 14, something that an 8 could not be made into! That sure would teach them rednecks a lesson.
9/15/2007 10:44:40 AM
Wait a minute... didn't NASCAR just say that THEY own the numbers, not the team owners? Wasn't that the issue with the #8 we were just talking about a few months ago? So, why now is Robert Yates selling the number?
9/15/2007 6:34:33 PM
teams retain the rights to use the number they used the previous year. RYR is just selling the rights to the number to Hendrick.
9/15/2007 6:36:50 PM
So, Theresa saying that NCASCAR was the reason the 8 couldn't go with Jr. to Hendrick was just an excuse for her not wanting to let it go...
9/15/2007 6:38:33 PM
yes, theresa is a bitch
9/15/2007 6:39:02 PM
oh, I've been knowing that! If that was the case, why didn't NASCAR step in and put her in her place and let the number go with Jr.?
9/15/2007 6:40:38 PM
what could they have done? DEI retains the rights and under nascar's rules written in disappearing ink, they can't just give another team a number that was used the previous year by someone else. There's be lawsuits out the ass from the sponsors.sponsors are the biggest problem.[Edited on September 15, 2007 at 6:44 PM. Reason : ]

But then what about this:
9/15/2007 6:45:48 PM
My goodness! First race in the chase and no one bumped the NASCAR thread!!
9/16/2007 10:15:35 PM
it was new hampshire. the only tracks more boring to watch a race on are Pocono (since the gear rule) and California (though the other cookie cutter bullshit courses are getting close).
9/17/2007 7:59:21 AM
uhh. watkins glen? Boorrrriinnng.
9/17/2007 9:50:52 AM
watkins glen was NOT boring. and I'm not saying that because harvick is an overreacting jackass.
9/17/2007 10:33:37 AM
I concur, Watkins Glen is not boring.
9/17/2007 1:01:59 PM
Watkins Glen is the only track i think is MORE boring in person than on television.

I understand what you are saying, but don't you see some hypocracy in this situation?[Edited on September 18, 2007 at 11:24 AM. Reason : ]

im waiting for her house in Florida to be finished, she'll sell all that shit to Menards and skip town.as for the 8, i wouldn't of gotten rid of it either, its the only power shes got, and look at all that revenue shes pulling in still by keeping it. She owns the rights to the number, she owns the rights to all the shit that'll be sold in 20 years if and when Jrs stuff starts becoming collectible. It'll be like the old school Wrangler stuff.i'm ready for a full COT season, even if the drivers and teams aren't (except hendricks). It'll just be interesting to see those Pieces of crap full time. I'm also ready for the Media tour for 2009, Lets see what they change in the points this year to get the fans satisfied.

I'm talking about hypocracy on NASCAR's part, not Theresa/Jr./Hendrick's part. I think it is hypocritical that NASCAR will let Jr. have the 88 but not the 8. I dunno...
9/18/2007 12:57:56 PM
Just announced today: Kasey Kahne now sponsored by Busweiser!! Good for him!
9/18/2007 6:30:12 PM
yeah the news reports leaked that like midlast week
9/18/2007 6:39:35 PM
Yes, but it only matters when it is official! Remember all the different numbers that were "confirmed", "in the works" or "it" for Jr's number? But it only mattered when it was official. And Kasey Kahne riding in on the Clydesdale's is as official as it gets! [Edited on September 18, 2007 at 6:49 PM. Reason : cant type]
9/18/2007 6:48:42 PM
9/18/2007 9:19:59 PM
Yes, but just because she has the specifics of that number trademarked, does not make it her number to keep. Anyone can still get the 8 (if NASCAR would let it go), but can't keep that design, they must make their own.
9/18/2007 9:56:11 PM
^nascar will let terresa use the 8 as long as she wants to

that dosent look that bad actually. It'll be a little weird getting used to associating that with jr and not jarrett though.
