I honestly didn't expect trump to sink to this level of depravity on covid... mask wearing is such a minimal thing and hes encouraging people to not even do this

I read the transcript of the WSJ interview. It’s unedited.

And... what the actual fuck? He is completely and totally incoherent. Like not one question was answered in a way that you come away with any idea of what he is talking about. Just complete rambling nonsense listing the greatest hits.

I know he’s an idiot who doesn’t know what words mean but is there any charitable way to read this other than a threat of violence against even those who peacefully protest him?

This is straight-up explicit fascism, no?

I think he's trying to "dare" protestors into causing havoc, then encourage the police to respond violently, which is usually what kicks off the firing/looting since it gives the agitators and more excitable people cover in the chaos.

This fits into his narrative of "if democrats win blacks will come and burn down your white towns".

Man, the cases the SDNY was working on that Barr is gonna bury must be lit.

Guiliani? Trump’s taxes? What does he so desperately want to cover up?

Also, yet again firing a guy he appointed and was confirmed through the Senate. Wasn’t the only thing that people talked about in 2016 with Trump is that he was a “businessman” and would only hire the best people? Of course anyone who knew him outside of his dumb NBC show knew he was a total failure in business but still, that was the talking point.

Its just a matter of perspective. UJUSTWAIT probably understand the fatigue related to air travel or hasn't worked jobs that require you to be on all day.

I think you should pick your battles more carefully. Theres a million legitimate reasons to criticize this president and criticizing him for meaningless things like "looking tired" cheapens everything else. I don't get why "pick your battles" is so controversial. The twitter use is one thing but how a president walks down a ramp or holds a glass should be the least of your concerns. You fall right into the "no matter what he does, you will criticize him" stereotype.

Last week, he said that the more testing you do, the more cases there will be which is absolutely true. People called him out on it but the problem was the people calling them out conflated cases with "transmission". T

his morning, the guy from yahoonews got absolutely worked when he tried to challenge Trump on a fact about testing rates in the US vs S. Korea and had the fact absolutely wrong. Deborah Birx corrected him on the spot and that moment was really unfortunate because it gave Trump even more credibility over the media.

Multiple things can be true
1) being president can be very demanding, even for someone who blows off most of the work, and can make you look like shit
2) this effect is amplified on trump bc he already looks like shit, is wildly unhealthy, and held together by hair dye and bronzer
And
3) fuck him he's a piece of shit that hates having his appearance his criticized so when he looks like garbage we should tell him bc it's fun!

Oh, I've been posting those ever since the proles decided to blame all the systemic problems I've been fighting for a decade on Trump. Its harmful and demoralizing not because Trump isn't bad, but because fighting a symptom will not stop the cause.

Then I see shit like this all the time even from great pages like occupy democrats.

Threats of violence against an outspoken black man in Alabama? All because orange man bad. Nothing like this ever happened before January 2017.

and shit like this
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/black-lives-matter-co-founder-says-groups-goal-is-to-get-trump-out
Somehow the goal of black lives matter has shifted to being getting Trump out because clearly Donald Trump is responsible for systemic racism and police brutality...

This kind of stuff is enraging to anyone who was actually invested in these issues before they got hijacked.

I mean, yeah. Step one in an entire long process is to literally get the racist guy who hires racist guys out of office. Yeah.

Biden isn’t by any stretch a racial equality/equity warrior but he is a bog-standard Dem and a middle of the road Dem isn’t going to hire Jeff Sessions, Steven Miller and Bill Barr to tackle this.

So, yeah. The next logical step is to get the guy who explicitly says cops should beat the shit out of black protestors gone.

Yeah when you put it that way it doesn't rub me the wrong way but thats not what she said. She said "our goal" singular. Maybe she misspoke and I'll see a statement soon or mayyyyybe....

Quote :

Its not my source, its google's. I saw the quote happen live on CNN (I keep it running for when someone I wanna hear comes on like this). The leadership has probably become tools corrupted by money. BLM was great but now its a billion dollar company. The democratic party coopts every grassroots movement in this country and turns it into "vote for us to do nothing forever or GOP will take you in the other direction"

Quote :
"“The demand of defunding law enforcement becomes a central demand in how we actually get real accountability and justice,” she said earlier this month. “Because it means we are reducing the ability of law enforcement to have resources that harm our communities.”

But this is the same old "correct ends with no means" bullshit I'm tired of. Replacing Trump with someone who also rejects "defund the police" doesn't defund the police. If defund the police is the message then she needs to be focusing on defunding police departments which has nothing to do with Trump.

Quote :

Well I strongly believe that waiting for the justice department to step in and affect change across all police departments is a losing battle. What methods is Biden going to use to bring about structural change? Helping Biden replace Trump is a waste of resources that need to be focused on local police departments and at most, state laws.

This has TDS written all over it. A problem happens and it suddenly manifests itself in people acting like Trump is the cause of that problem. I'm just like "HELLOooooo". Does anyone remember what policing was like between 2008 and 2016? If there is a magic presidential button to fix the police, why didn't Obama push it? Even if Biden articulated all of the best solutions (he won't), the president doesn't have that magic button.

Using Trump as a scapegoat for all problems is just the fashionable thing to do right now. Its a no brainer if you're a public figure. Even Bolton is in on that gravy train that piece of shit.

This is straw man and I can’t find anyone who is arguing what you’re arguing against on TWW. Racism is as deep a part of American history and the present as anything. The country was literally built upon it.

Trump has inflamed that, has seeked to divide and conquer and just generally made it a point to be as big a prick to racial/ethnic/religious minorities as much as anyone since Reagan, possibly even longer.

So yes, it is a prerequisite for any sort of ability to harken change to be rid of him.

Quote :
" what did barr or sessions do so racist? "

Lol, fuck you. If you don’t see a substantive difference between a guy like Eric Holder (who has many faults, which is not the argument I’m making) and Jeff fucking Sessions then just fuck you.

The people on top are different but I really don't see how that brings about a substantive difference in the everyday lives. What substantive change did sessions make? Our problems are much more about racist systems than it is about the specific individual who hold power. Replacing 'racist' white cops with black cops piecemeal is not the solution to that.

If the president talks about COVID, and you disagree with what he says, you say he shouldn't be talking about COVID because he's not an expert but then when he shuts up and doesn't talk about COVID, you say he should be talking about COVID.

Same shit different topic? Is it a strawman to say that COVID would go away if the president would just call it the right name and say all the right things in a speech?

Is it a strawman to say that if Trump wore a mask, everyone would wear a mask and the numbers would suddenly improve? What about all the people who take the philosophy "When its my time its my time" or "God will protect me from the virus". Did Trump spread religion in this country too? Does the president control everything?

Kung-flu is an slur on the nation of China who he is blaming entirely for the virus so its his way of "hitting back" at the country who "did this to us". Its racist, and its wrong but "not taking it seriously" is a mischaracterization.
