New android phones always are...holla at me in like 14 months.
5/31/2013 10:23:55 PM
I won't have this in 14 months. I get a new phone about every 6-8.
5/31/2013 10:33:47 PM
Very nice

remove apps, go into app settings and clear the app local caches, use mobile sites in place of apps where ever possible ie: facebook
6/1/2013 12:20:47 PM
The FB app is annoying me.Everytime I upload pictures using it, it strips any tags, including people or locations. Anyone else able to tag photos, upload them, and have those tags show up?
6/1/2013 4:42:17 PM
^^^Got my Note 2 around the same time. Faster than when I got it. I use Nova Launcher. It's probably the fastest launcher out there. Also "BetterBatteryStats" is a great program for seeing exactly what is waking your phone up (screen off) and draining your battery. Click the "partial wakelocks" and it will list them in order. Watch your ram as well.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.vine.androidVine for Android...link works but it's still hashing out issues w/ the device compatibility detector
6/3/2013 10:24:36 AM
anyone still have a google tv? I got one because they're a lot cheaper than a slingcatcher and I set my thermostat from bed with it. I'd really like to be able to use the directv app on it, but it always crashes (had to sideload because device was incompatible) but other people are able to get it to work on various unsupported tablets. any idea what the hold up may be?

anyone want to buy a 16 gig, white nexus 4 ill trade for a black one
6/4/2013 9:25:45 PM
If they kick me off unlimited, and put me on 2, I will be irate.... Considering there's a number of people on 4gb for the same price from other promos.
6/5/2013 8:35:14 PM
^ they likely won't just kick you off unlimited, but force you into one of their new plans, so you'll probably be paying more, too
6/6/2013 8:20:08 AM
6/6/2013 10:55:19 AM
who ever really likes white?
6/6/2013 10:57:43 AM
the htc one in white is nice, but it's more of an accent there
6/6/2013 11:36:37 AM
Just upgraded from the S2 to the S4. I love this phone. Its amazing.
6/6/2013 10:15:51 PM
So the HTC One is coming to Verizon, we just have no idea of when right?
6/8/2013 2:11:49 PM
Summer. Lol.I'm tempted to get the one... Guess I'll see what the landscape looks like. I hit my 2 year mark in December. I plan on paying full retail to maintain unlimited, unless they plan to axe it.
6/8/2013 2:43:54 PM
Any predictions on when the next Nexus phone (5?) will come out?
6/10/2013 3:01:38 PM
you'll be able to buy one next year
6/10/2013 5:27:16 PM
6/11/2013 4:15:07 AM
yeah, don't bother including unlimited in your decision...it WILL be gone, if not by the end of the year, then in Q1 of 2014
6/11/2013 10:15:18 AM
My 2 year is around then... I basically plan on waiting to see what they decide do.My hope is any remaining unlimited data plans they force out, will get a slightly more favorable tier. I upgrade now I'm at 2gb same price, meanwhile they have plenty of 4 GB customers at that price. Not holding my breath.[Edited on June 11, 2013 at 7:12 PM. Reason : ..]

Sprint finally announces their LTE network is live in Raleigh, even though I've been getting it in most places for a few months now...
6/17/2013 5:59:08 PM
yeah i noticed it live in greenville and fayetteville this past week.
6/17/2013 7:21:24 PM
has their coverage improved?
6/17/2013 8:40:50 PM
4G works in my hood now but only when I am outside. But it works!
6/18/2013 11:02:42 AM
good to hear...my wife's republic phone certainly doesn't the coverage my verizon one does, but the republic model makes up for that...at least one of the new phones RW is releasing at the end of the summer will be 4G, so between that and the wifi use, i can get behind an abysmal sprint network
6/18/2013 11:05:47 AM
i'd call it decent coverage. there's still room for improvement, and if s4gru is correct, then there's still plenty of towers left to be put up before they are done. the only thing that annoys me is when my phone takes forever to fallback to 3G when a 4G tower isn't responding, but maybe that'll go away now that things are "live"[Edited on June 18, 2013 at 9:29 PM. Reason : still doesn't fix people trying to call me and it never ringing my fucking phone. ]

and for those of you who, like me, don't know the difference between LTE and LTE-A: http://gigaom.com/2011/02/08/lte-advanced/
6/20/2013 1:34:26 PM
^lol I was about to add a link for that, as I too had to look it up.
6/20/2013 1:51:02 PM
is VoLTE deployment supposed to coincide with LTE-A, or are we supposed to see that sooner?
6/20/2013 1:52:48 PM
so, you use up your month's data allowance in 16 seconds?
6/20/2013 2:00:23 PM
^ glorious
6/21/2013 2:37:29 AM
Verizon customer here. Should I go with the GS4 or wait for something else that's about to come out?
6/21/2013 11:33:44 AM
i haven't even kept up with what's on deck
6/21/2013 1:01:29 PM
i haven't even kept up with what's on deckpersonally, i wouldn't want to purchase a new, subsidized phone until there's one stock with KLP...but that won't be until the fall, i imagine

NM[Edited on June 21, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Reason : KLP = Key Lime Pie]
6/21/2013 1:29:31 PM
rumors are KLP will be released in october, along with the motorola X phone and the nexus 5: http://vr-zone.com/articles/exclusiveandroid-5-0-to-come-in-late-october-will-be-well-optimized/36950.htmlthe thing is, there's always something better just over the horizon...right now, though, if i were in the market for a top-of-the-line phone and i was willing to be locked into a 2-year contract by letting the carrier subsidize the price, it would most certainly be a KLP unitthe differences between ICS and JB weren't huge (which was expected), though they were welcome...the differences between JB and KLP will likely be more significant (especially in terms of performance)if it were 6 months away, that'd be one thing...but (personally), i'd hold out for 4 more months

Wow I want this: http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2013/06/samsung-ativ-q-ativ-3/Android and Windows. 3200×1800. 2.84 pounds and is 13.9 mm thick. 9 hours of battery life. I've been wanting a tablet/laptop convertible but wanted Android for the Tablet portion and Windows for working. This would be perfect.[Edited on June 23, 2013 at 1:13 AM. Reason : s]
6/23/2013 1:12:42 AM
^i wonder how much that thing is gonna cost.
6/23/2013 9:44:46 PM
Eh probably $1400-1600. If it were $1000 I'd buy one. I doubt it though. Asus has this one as well: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7017/the-asus-transformer-book-trio-atom-haswell-android-windows-8Interesting approach. Instead of using a single Haswell chip for both Win8 and Android it uses Haswell for Win8 and an Atom chip for Android. It's interesting that Asus and Samsung are trying to gain traction in the convertible/touch screen market by including Android. I'd totally use Windows for work and Android for everything else.
6/23/2013 11:11:44 PM
hardware is nowhere near the same, but you can add Windows 8 to an HP Touchpadyou can put any damn OS on that thing
