okay here's one of the new dresses that i got at nordstroms (ignore my stupid face )ALSOwent and racked up $350 worth of alterations on my suits, jackets, pants and skirts because none of the clothes that i own fit me cause of the weight loss. which is super awesome won't be shopping for a while, now that i'll have a ton of clothes, but the nordstroms half yearly sale was pretty fantastically awesome. i'll post a pic of the new suit once i try that one on.

^^ so cute It really emphasizes your waist! Boots go with everything just throw on a cute top! I wear mine over my skinny jeans and lately I think they look really nice with leggings and maybe a long shirt clasped with a belt...AND i always wear them with skirts...[Edited on November 8, 2010 at 5:02 PM. so I have NEVER bought a pair of boots for winter (i know, i know). I usually wear Sperry's, Birkenstocks or dressy shoes, but never any nice boots.I've been wanting to get a pair and have been looking around. Should I go for the suede-type or leather (real, fake, i dont care)? Seems like the suede ones would be harder to keep up appearance wise, but I like that look better. Going to go for some grey or dark brown I think, and definitely with a slight heel.
11/8/2010 10:45:03 PM
depends on when you want to wear them. I like the suede look more, but when it's even slightly wet out I won't wear them. Also, when you scuff them (I tend to unwittingly knock my feet together when walking, thus scuffing my shoes), the suede ones are much harder to return to "normal" compared to the leather (or faux-leather) styles.

$10 off $20 at drugstore.com if you use PayPal with code 9h3b044c5f38691, and shipping is free if your order comes to $25 before the discount. I got 3 mascaras and 3 nail polishes for $15. And I had a PayPal balance of a few bucks so that came to like $6 out of pocket.
11/9/2010 10:16:44 AM
nordstrom has some really cute dresses for fatties. why are all the ones i like $200+ though
11/9/2010 10:38:30 AM
I was able to find a bra that works, woot... and these pictures show the hue of the dress a little better
11/9/2010 11:08:20 AM
just a thought, but i bet the open back of that dress is going to make it extra squicky should some water run off your head...[Edited on November 9, 2010 at 11:12 AM. Reason : weird, on the site the color was more taupe/tan]
11/9/2010 11:11:52 AM
That is really cute sam! Jesus will approve!
11/9/2010 11:12:35 AM
^2 Hm, good thought... I'm wearing my hair down so hopefully the curls will catch any excess water and I don't know why the color looks so off on the website - it's not that light and imo makes the girl look all washed out in the picture^ thanks Brandino... sad you can't be here but I understand
11/9/2010 11:14:18 AM
yeah me too. Hopefully, I can save up some money so I can come visit soon.
11/9/2010 11:31:04 AM
Will not buy a cardigan from NY&C ever again. I've washed this thing twice following the directions on the tag and it already looks old as hell
11/9/2010 1:39:57 PM
^Oh no! Was it a recent purchase? I've gotten several sweaters from there that have been great, but none have been purchased recently. I don't want to continue buying if their quality has gone down.
11/9/2010 2:12:25 PM
Yeah I bought them a couple weeks ago when they were having their buy one get one 1/2 off sale on cardigans.
11/9/2010 2:13:15 PM
Apparently the drugstore.com code I posted isn't a universal code. Sorry y'all

Anyone else here subscribe to Real Simple? I've had my subscription for years but I'm not going to renew it. The magazine has shrunken the content and it's become more about fashion than the recipes and homey goodness that I loved about it.
11/9/2010 3:07:29 PM
That makes me sad. I used to love that magazine.

11/10/2010 12:48:12 PM

11/10/2010 12:59:50 PM
3^ How are you even supposed to use that?
11/10/2010 1:01:40 PM
Does anyone in the triangle area know where I can get some dainty white lace gloves? preferably ones that come to the wrist, I'm not looking for any that go all the way up the arm a la 1999 prom[Edited on November 10, 2010 at 3:10 PM. Reason : need to find some in the next few days... ]
11/10/2010 2:58:15 PM
everyone is telling me not to, but..... I'm pretty sure I want to chop all my hair off i was thinking something like thisbut i guess if not even one person thinks i should i probably wont :/
11/10/2010 11:19:13 PM
I'm lazy...please to post a before pic
11/10/2010 11:21:46 PM

11/10/2010 11:21:57 PM
haha ok i'll take a pic real fast brb
11/10/2010 11:22:19 PM
I think it is pretty ballsy....do it now, or do it when you're a mom of 3 kids and still trying to be hip.Be sure to have a straightener, though. Otherwise, you'll look like carrot top. I think you should go for it. Dye it black, too.
11/10/2010 11:23:01 PM
hope you have a great earring collection
11/10/2010 11:28:32 PM
i never wear earrings, but i have a fabulous hair straightenerso here is now. keep in mind i've been studying all day so it looks like EXTRA shit. it is driving me insane
11/10/2010 11:35:25 PM
If you're good about keeping it styled you could pull it off
11/10/2010 11:37:50 PM
shouldn't be too hard. straighten front. hair stuff in the back. i'm just so tired of it now. zero. style.
11/10/2010 11:40:24 PM
I think you can pull it off if you do the upkeep. I'd have the stylist play with the layers over the ears/jaw though. You have an oval shaped face, while the model has more of a square jawline. you'll probably want that area to be less chunky and more layered.
11/10/2010 11:43:46 PM
don't do it!!!
11/11/2010 8:20:18 AM
Why not -_-
11/11/2010 9:05:48 AM
You would look just like Kristen Stewart in The Runaways. But hen you'd have to pick a team... Edward or Jacob.
11/11/2010 9:45:41 AM
I just bought a weighted hula hoop off ebay. I have always wanted one (ever since I won the hula hoop portion of field day in elementary school) and I knew they were a great workout... but I just read that you can burn 600 calories an hour playing w/ one... and Helloo.... I'm there! I got to pick my size and colors (sparkly!) and everything.
11/11/2010 12:39:59 PM
i want one! i love hula hooping!if you do it a lot does it help your abs? lol
11/11/2010 12:47:11 PM
Apparently it does, they have warnings that when you start you can't use it too long because of intense ab pain.
11/11/2010 1:03:43 PM
dropdeadkate: I am pro-short hair. Give it a shot, what can you lose? ]
11/11/2010 1:56:37 PM
i don't think you should do it because i don't think short hair looks good on women. especially the style you posted a picture of. but i will still be your friend
11/11/2010 2:00:38 PM
11/11/2010 2:04:44 PM
haha we should totally do it. This is the one I bought:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120588510534&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT$24.99 including s/h. I think that's really reasonable.
11/11/2010 2:28:40 PM
my friend has one! she loves it, looks like fun
