I’m not going to engage on this too much but to say it’s insane. DOJ is essentially arguing they can’t prove Flynn lied AFTER he plead guilty. Twice. And I could be wrong but the filing actually doesn’t say they didn’t provide Flynn’s defense with exculpatory evidence and I know for sure it is patently false that any normal person would be not prosecuted after pleading guilty and then confirming that a second time.

In any case, Biden will pull an Obama I’m sure and have some bullshit about looking forward but if they don’t tear apart every inch of the Trump admin and prosecute every bit of misconduct Dems deserve to be a permanent majority minority party.

Real criminal justice reform is well past due. I don’t know where I fall on this but some people think it shouldn’t be a crime to lie to law enforcement. The FBI, for decades, has needed to be overhauled. This isn’t the conversation though.

Under current law he should be convicted. You can’t just excuse him because he’s your buddy when the next 999 people who do the same will absolutely be charged and convicted just like the 999 before him. This is rank corruption.

I’d gladly issue a mea culpa if you can point me to changes that the Trump admin is proposing that are more than “my buddy is good and my political adversaries are bad.”

That being said, I acknowledge the possibility the FBI didn’t follow some protocols, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time.

But to comment on the FBI’s conduct in this case at this exact moment, you’d have to basically buy Barr/Giuliani/John Solomon’s narrative fully. There’s gonna have to be absolutely screaming evidence before I believe a word that crew says. The competing narrative (that I’ve seen) right now is that the FBI’s moves were within protocol (except some FISA stuff unrelated to Flynn?) and are being misrepresented. On Flynn’s particular case no nuance has developed between these. I’m interested to see where the judge comes down as what other info gets dropped in this story.

I actually understand why they aren't wearing masks. For starters, you don't want your leader projecting weakness of any sort on the world stage. I realize that he by nature projects weakness but I think you know what i'm saying. Second, he's the most well cared for human on the planet from a medical standpoint. So, even if he contracted COVID I guarantee you'd not see a blip in his health.

I'm not defending him - I hate him. But I think no matter who was president you'd see the same behavior, specifically with respect to the mask thing.

Both candidates were under investigation.

One was cleared before the election. The one that was cleared was dragged through three mud by an unprecedented moral and ethical dressing down by the FBI Director in front of congress. On top of that a month before the election that same candidate had her investigation temporarily re-opened by the same FBI Director over the same emails with no new ones found because the FBI was worried crooked agents would leak meaningless copies of emails to the media.

No one even knew the other candidate was under investigation until well after the election and the FBI even falsely leaked he was NOT under investigation to the New York Times.

I’ve felt like I’ve taken crazy pills every time I see this same talking point. It’s a complete revision of history. Complete and total. Obama should have fucking personally told the country both were under investigation in 2016.
