What a crock of shit. Crybaby Aaaaron Rodgers got his way, but it will be reduced.
12/18/2017 5:06:26 PM
Wait, how is this worse than Gronk elbow dropping a guy in the back of the head???
12/18/2017 5:18:26 PM
he’s a repeat offender
12/18/2017 5:46:12 PM
So is Gronk
12/18/2017 5:47:34 PM
2 helmet-to-helmet football plays in 721 snaps this year for Davis. He's basically the dirtiest player ever.
12/18/2017 6:13:32 PM
it was an awful hit that deserved discipline
12/18/2017 6:16:16 PM
Has anyone implied he doesn't deserve any discipline? I think the gripe is the inconsistency in the league's punishments, which is obviously nothing new.[Edited on December 18, 2017 at 6:19 PM. Reason : .]
12/18/2017 6:18:58 PM
Yes. 2 games for blocking a "defenseless" player (he wasn't defenseless) high during a live football play, trying to help your team by blocking a potential tackler. 1 game for intentionally driving your armored forearm into the back of someone's head who is laying face down on the ground after the play is dead.MAKES SENSE TO ME.
12/18/2017 6:58:49 PM
trying to help your team? c'mon. you watch enough football to know that a hit like that in 2017 is going to be harshly penalized, as it should be
12/18/2017 7:10:22 PM
So you are saying what Davis did is twice as bad as what Gronk did
12/18/2017 7:56:27 PM
It’ll probably get appealed down to 1
12/18/2017 8:05:17 PM
^^ nobody is saying thatthey said it's 2 games because he's a repeat offender

So because Aaron and Adams bitched and moaned he was suspended 2 games. My problem is the suspensions seem so arbitrary and inconsistent. How hard is it to come up with a system for suspensions. Gronk gets a game, Bennett doesn't even get fined for starting a melee in the Jacksonville game and trying to injure the Jags center. JuJu gets a game. The Bengals player that hit Antonio Brown in the back gets his suspension recinded. I am hoping that Davis' suspension gets reduced to a game and he is back against Atlanta. With Tampa's injuries on Offense and Defense we should be able to next man up this game Sunday.
12/19/2017 9:32:27 AM
looked at the playoff stuff and it seems pretty much locked we'll be playing the saints round 1 barring losing out and missing
12/19/2017 11:38:46 AM
hope the new owner gets rid of the lame ass shield at midfield
12/19/2017 12:12:26 PM
^^Not Necessarily, if the Falcons win out we would play the Rams potentially. If we beat Tampa we are in playoffs Atlanta would just be for seeding. So if we win out and NO loses to Falcons and Bucs (Not bloody likely) we would win division and play Atlanta in Charlotte (two weeks in a row) If we win against Tampa and lose to Atlanta and Atlanta loses to NO we would be the 5 seed and travel to NO, same scenario if we lose to Tampa and beat Atlanta. I think the only way we don't make playoff is if we lose both remaining games and SEA/DAL or DET (They have an easy road @ CIN and GB at home) win both remaining games, the fact that if we lose out our 6 losses are conference games hurts any tie breaking scenario with DET despite the H2H victory.
12/19/2017 1:12:25 PM
Here are the potentials (without going into every possibility with the Seahawks, Rams, Lions, and Cowboys):Scenario 1Panthers and Saints both win out: Saints 3 or 4, Panthers 5, Falcons either 6 or miss playoffsScenario 2Panthers win out, Saints lose to Falcons:Panthers 3 or 4, Saints 5, Falcons 6Scenario 3Falcons win out, Panthers & Saints both beat Buccs:Falcons 3 or 4, Saints 5, Panthers 6Scenario 4Panthers win out, Saints lose out:Panthers 3 or 4, Falcons 5, Saints 6 or miss playoffsScenario 5Panthers & Saints both lose out:Falcons 3 or 4, Saints 5 or 6, Panthers 6 or miss playoffs[Edited on December 19, 2017 at 4:44 PM. so luke our only pro bowler? oh well
12/19/2017 8:27:47 PM
That sounds about right to me, no one else has played at that level all season. Only other guy that probably deserved it was Norwell and maybe the punter. Addison and Peppers have been awesome, but Griffin, Lawrence, and Jordan are all better. Ditto for Short.Actually it's probably better that Norwell wasn't picked, his contract is gonna be painful enough as is.[Edited on December 19, 2017 at 9:00 PM. Reason : .]

Scenario 6Panthers acquired by P. Diddy:2018 NC Panthers 1, SB Halftime show is amazeballs, Ciroc falls from the sky like rain, new slogan "1 state 1 team", Kaepernick runs game winning touchdown in the SB and takes a knee as his TD celebration, 2020 the team is renamed to the NC BadBoys of Chapel Hill in Charlotte
12/20/2017 10:45:51 AM
^Peppers has 10 sacks (10th in the league) while playing something like 40% of the snaps. He might not have the stats others do, but he's been Pro Bowl worthy IMO.

Atlanta's got more to play for.But then again if we win and the Saints somehow lose to the Bucs we win the division.

12/25/2017 12:49:42 AM
Not that it will happen, but apparently if we beat Atlanta, and if the Saints, Rams, and Vikings all lose, we are the #2 seed and get a 1st round bye.
12/25/2017 10:58:08 PM
hopefully Jameis is ready to eat a W
12/27/2017 12:31:35 PM
^^Well Rams have already said they're phoning it in(sitting Goff and Gurley), but Saints are clearly going to be trying to win the division and the Bucs are awful. Just can't see the Vikings and Saints losing.
12/28/2017 9:09:51 AM
I actually hope we end up with the 5 seed and LA loses now so we can get them in the wildcard. I'd much rather take on a team with a head coach and quarterback that have zero playoff experience vs our veteran team. That beats the hell out of going down to the Superdome again.
12/28/2017 10:56:00 AM
12/28/2017 11:20:44 AM
^They've played some close games, but that team just keeps shooting themselves in the foot and they just keep losing players for the season(16 players on IR, 9 more on injury report this week). Think they lost a few the week before our game and then more during our game.7 of their losses have been by 1 possession. 2 of their wins were by 1 possession. Saints beat them at home by 20. Bucs have 4 wins, 0 of them are .500 or better. Saints are a TD favorite on the road. Obviously anything can happen, but it would be a fairly big upset for the Bucs to beat the Saints.
12/28/2017 11:55:23 AM
I think the Rams are way scarier than the Saints and would much prefer to play the Saints for a third time
12/28/2017 12:48:48 PM
Bucs have played games in 15 straight weeks, fwiw
12/28/2017 1:57:18 PM
looking at the problems we had with Ingram and Kamara -- Gurley would fucking destroy us
12/28/2017 3:29:31 PM
^Yeah, but if I had to load the box against one of the Saints or Rams and force one of those QBs to beat me in the playoffs, I'd MUCH rather put the ball in Goff's hands than Breesus. Plus I'd much rather play @LAR than @NO in the playoffs.
12/28/2017 8:54:17 PM
Saints aren’t nearly as scary at home as they used to be, and we know exactly why we lost to them there this season. all correctable reasons. Goff had a similar season to Brees, and has a legit MVP candidate who can beat you in the passing game if the line is stacked the Rams also have a much better coach[Edited on December 28, 2017 at 10:53 PM.
