miami "locking in on defense" is just another way of describing how the refs will not call fouls on them in the last few minutes of any game. lebron shot 17 free throws.the nets shot 15 free throws.Miami shot 3s the whole game while the nets drove a lot more yet miami gets twice as many free throws. The first quarter started with two phantom fouls against Brooklyn to loosen up their defense and get Miami into the bonus early. On Pierce's 5th foul, he was behind Lebron setting a screen, Lebron extended his elbow into Pierces chest, and they called a foul on Pierce.

^^ They don't want to brick, but they're not lucky.

5/14/2014 9:54:46 PM
you are not supposed to pick and roll against Miami.
5/14/2014 10:00:25 PM
They're pretty much the one team that can switch the pick and roll late at 4 spots and still be good.

Wow. Steve Kerr is an idiot. Then again the Warriors were idiots to fire Mark Jackson, so I guess they deserve each other.
5/14/2014 11:19:13 PM
would you be an idiot if you took a job for 5 years/25 million?with a Top 10 player on your roster, who is also the best shooter in the league?also with a roster he has said he feels he can work his ideal offense with?[Edited on May 14, 2014 at 11:26 PM. Reason : yeah]
5/14/2014 11:23:13 PM
if he only wins 50 games next year does he get fired?
5/14/2014 11:30:45 PM
probably not, seeing as how he was hand picked by his owner, as opposed to Jackson, who he didn't get along with
5/14/2014 11:33:55 PM
it will be interesting if his hand picked coach doesn't lead the team to the best finish in 2 decades like jackson did
5/14/2014 11:41:46 PM
it's been well known that Lacob and Jackson hated each otherthat doesn't mean that firing Jackson was the right call, though
5/14/2014 11:44:26 PM
One of the biggest complaints about MJ was "lack of coaching experience". Really a wise decision to hire a coach with ZERO head coaching experience.
5/15/2014 1:10:23 AM
Kerr is white though. Owners of LA bball teams prefer the whites.
5/15/2014 1:17:09 AM
pretty clear that ^^ has no idea what he's talking about, but good for him
5/15/2014 1:53:53 AM
Being a successful player is no guarantee of being a successful coach. As an NCSU fan, I thought you already knew that.
5/15/2014 2:16:41 AM
he's been more than just a player, but go on
5/15/2014 2:26:53 AM

5/15/2014 2:36:00 AM
I'm not afraid to cite FACTS from a local newspaper. I copy/pasta'd it and bolded it for you since you seem a little thick in the skull. He has ZERO coaching experience. It's a fact, not an opinion.http://www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/Steve-Kerr-agrees-to-be-Warriors-head-coach-5478997.php
5/15/2014 2:40:57 AM
I've never trolled, because I'm quite ok with myselfway to not address anything I saiddude was a good GM and is considered to be one of the best basketball minds, yet you whine in an effort to keep this goinggood trolling, I guess?
5/15/2014 2:45:39 AM
Have you ever even been to a Warriors basketball game? Jesus Christ...A lot of people are really disappointed with the hire, for the exact same reasons I specified.[Edited on May 15, 2014 at 2:49 AM. Reason : .]
5/15/2014 2:47:16 AM
I'll go ahead and allow you one solid jerk sesh, seeing as how it's what you're really going forI'm pretty confident in saying that I've watched more Warriors games than you've attended during the S. Curry eraeven though it's quite obvious that you're grasping at straws and you're yearning for a person to keep this going, regardless of what is saidso jack off, pal

0/10literally one of the worst posters in sports talk
5/15/2014 2:57:27 AM
I'll co-sign that
5/15/2014 6:40:23 AM
Steve Kerr is a great hire.Everyone wanted Steve Kerr...including the infallible Phil Jackson.Steve Kerr has more basketball executive/management experience than Mark Jackson did before he got hired....by a long shot.Comparing the Steve Kerr hire to the Mark Jackson hire is a dumb comparison.Firing Mark Jackson probably wasn't the correct decision, but the Warrior's front office hated him.thegoodlife3 is not one of the worst Sports Talk posters...and is easily in the upper echelon of knowledgeable ST posters.thegoodlife3 can be annoying in his "can't believe we're blaming the refs" rants in post game threads...which still makes his most recent comments amusing./stupid argument
5/15/2014 7:24:18 AM
Just seems like the Warriors are more interested in a coach they get along with than a coach who winsYou should be fired for poor performance, not because you're not BFFs with management
5/15/2014 9:26:08 AM
I've had coworkers who performed really well, but were cancers inside the office, so I can see what Warriors ownership was thinking. Sometimes it just isn't worth it despite results.Jackson fucked up by giving credibility to those that pointed out his lack of professionalism and social skills with how he kept spouting off after it happened too. The Warriors didn't say a word about him and wished him well, like you should do in professional environment.
5/15/2014 10:41:49 AM
Personally, I wouldn't want to work for management that would tape record conversations (illegally) and might fire for my personality, even after I led a team from the cellar to win 98 games in two seasons. The Knicks job would have been a much, much easier road to success for Kerr. The West is absolutely stacked, and now Kerr has to deal with insane expectations and players that are going to be bitter after they bonded and grew with Jackson as coach. Funny how not a single player commented on the Kerr hire yesterday...Does Kerr have the potential to be a great coach? Sure. But aside from Larry Brown, I can't think of a single rookie coach without coaching experience that pans out well. The Warriors took a huge gamble and it likely halted their forward progress over the last few years. I honestly doubt they'll make the playoffs next season...[Edited on May 15, 2014 at 12:23 PM. The Knicks should probably go after Jackson (he did play there after all). I'm not sure who their targets are now though.
5/15/2014 12:26:36 PM
And so should the Lakers.

^^either youre the cancer in your workplace or youve never worked with one
5/15/2014 3:23:35 PM
Honestly, Lacob sounds more cancerous than anyone. Fuck working for that guy...
5/15/2014 3:26:55 PM
that comment was dead serious. Winning enough games to sell tickets is the only thing that matters in pro sports, and the Warriors management fired the first coach they've had to do that in 20 years. I'd say that's pretty cancerous of the owner, not the coach.

Besides Curry, who do they Warriors really have? Iguodala wasn't the answer. Bogut is one dimensional and injury prone. Klay Thompson isn't there yet. Neither is David Lee. They were really starting to come together, and really improved defensively (one of their biggest criticisms last season) but now they've got to all buy into a completely new system with a guy who's never coached a single NBA or college game. The Xs and Os arguments about Mark Jackson not being able to coach were bullshit. He could coach just fine. Now suddenly Xs and Os aren't an issue with Kerr? C'mon man.
5/15/2014 9:37:41 PM
they're one elite player from a western conf final
5/15/2014 10:03:28 PM
Pacers meltdown in progress.GO WIZARDS!
5/15/2014 10:08:10 PM
Even if they are there, its basically a tossup with 4-8 other young teams in the western conference as to who will compete with OKC for a long time. The Spurs will be good and all the other teams are still on the rise. The lakers/mavs are always liable to buy some people and become playoff teams overnight.
5/15/2014 10:10:17 PM
they just showed jack at the wizards game and now they showed him at the clippers gamesomebody please explain this lie?Is there a body double?
5/15/2014 10:47:34 PM
some people are going to disagree but the last few games of this series have been disgusting basketball. the intensity is there at a high level but the quality of execution is dogshit. neither team has an offense and its just a battle of who can make the dumbest plays.[Edited on May 16, 2014 at 12:51 AM.
