Jake Delhomme woulda thrown the football over them there mountainsthen it would have been intercepted
9/30/2012 4:35:38 PM
Did you see Cam Newton mismanage the clock at the end of the first half? Better bench his ass.
9/30/2012 4:35:56 PM
I'll be interested to see what Cam's reaction is considering the backlash last week
9/30/2012 4:36:43 PM
does Clausen start next week or Armanti?
9/30/2012 4:36:51 PM
9/30/2012 4:38:24 PM
maybe we'll lose to FSU next week in similar heartbreaking fashionloljk we'll lose by 30

9/30/2012 5:06:37 PM
lol Hurney
9/30/2012 9:05:26 PM
I really don't know what mcdermott and hurney could possibly do to get fired at this point. Oh and this nakamura guy might be the worst starting safety I've ever seen in the nfl. Can't tackle, can't cover, lines up 20 yards deep every play. That's two games in a row he's just been abused
10/1/2012 9:26:34 AM
if Nakamura learned under Ed Reed, then Ed Reed is the worst teacher ever
10/1/2012 10:33:23 AM
Sherrod Martin must have really pissed somebody off.
10/1/2012 10:45:45 AM
Nakamura has a 1/2 inch vertical
10/1/2012 10:52:10 AM
Richardson made some really telling comments about Martin at the end of one game last year. A reporter asked him what he thought about Martin, and he said something along the lines of "I don't think much."Seems like Big Cat might have something to do it with his benching. Regardless, Panthers have to put him out there. He's not good, but there's potential. Nakamura isn't good and has zero potential.
10/1/2012 11:02:16 AM
Yeah it's hard to hang a loss on one player, but nakamura consistently got burned because the falcons specifically targeted him bc they knew he couldn't keep up. He fucked up on both of whites touchdowns, had a terrible missed tackle on the Turner touchdown run, and completely botched the coverage on that last long pass that setup the winning field goal. He had a few great plays (interception in the red zone, great pass defended in the endzone) but overall he was terrible. Fuck hurney for giving us no cap space so we're stuck with this shitty secondary for the next three years[Edited on October 1, 2012 at 11:26 AM. Reason : )]
10/1/2012 11:23:52 AM
Yeah, starting a 5th round pick and another teams garbage in the secondary will be bad news all year long. Still, we had 7 sacks and you have to give some of that credit to our secondary forcing Ryan to hold the ball a little longer than he wanted. I don't think it's all bad, and the young guys will get better. Nakamura is a fucking train wreck though.
10/1/2012 11:35:43 AM
why dont we try to do like the Jets are doing and convert Armanti Edwards into a CB
10/1/2012 11:44:42 AM
^^Unfortunately Sherrod Martin was a 2nd round pick, which makes it even worse. Chalk another one up for Hurney![Edited on October 1, 2012 at 11:45 AM. Reason : .]

The last 5-6 paragraphs are about the worst coaching decision of the week and "a strong candidate for worst coaching decision of the year"http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8447703/mark-sanchez-getting-better-rest-week-4-news
10/1/2012 2:49:51 PM
it easily gets my vote

and this from Barnwell's former boss:http://deadspin.com/5947937/was-the-panthers-fourth+down-decision-dumb-enough-to-change-the-nfls-punt+to+win-philosophy
10/1/2012 3:26:37 PM
NFL coaches don't play to win; they play not to lose. Only a ballsy few like Payton and Belichick buck the pussification.
10/1/2012 3:29:42 PM
it blows my mind that there are fans/pundits out there who still believe that punting in that situation is the way to go
10/1/2012 3:52:03 PM
Welp, looking forward, Panthers next 6 games are all winnable, especially the 4 home games. If we can be .500 (5-5) at week 12, the wild card will still be in play with a big primetime game against Philly where our hopes will be permanently crushed [Edited on October 1, 2012 at 3:57 PM. Reason : :]
10/1/2012 3:57:07 PM
This is so right on, from Grantland
10/1/2012 4:36:31 PM
I've got less gripe with us punting it than I do with us giving up the sidelines for easy passing routes when they had no timeouts leftIf we could've kept them inside the sidelines they might not have gotten into FG range

i would have gone for it but i wasn't as pissed as i should have been at the time when we decided to punt. I was thinking the decision was closer than it really was now that we've seen the numbers.Anyway, the punt was spectacular and the pilhares save was amazing. The fact that we still couldn't even come close to holding Atlanta even after downing the ball at the 1 just highlights how spectacularly wrong the decision to punt was.I haven't 100% given up on rivera yet, but it's looking more and more like he was a poor hire. I've definitely 100% given up on McDermott and i'm 1000% ready for hurney to go. What a freaking joker putting this defensive unit on the field AGAIN. Oh, we're going to go back to Sherrod martin now cool. That's our plan?! Well i mean maybe he's good we did pick a freaking safety in the 2nd round only 25 spots behind where Ed Reed went in his draft class.

This is from an AMA (ask me anything) by the creater of FootballOutsiders.com, Aaron Schatz:Question:
10/2/2012 11:45:37 AM
(there's an entire column of his a few posts up analyzing the Panthers decision/lack of balls)
10/2/2012 11:49:08 AM
heh. Still going through everything. That AMA was from before the game, btw.
10/2/2012 11:49:51 AM
Hurney was on the Mac Attack this morning and they grilled him. Worth the listen when the post it on WFNZ.

Wednesday is the day to forget the last game and look forward to the next game. 4 pm game time and a whole day to tailgate? best sunday ever.
10/3/2012 10:52:43 AM
^ I'll be there! Go Seahawks Panthers!!!!!
10/3/2012 10:56:14 AM
Gonna have to miss this one. Cam and Russell will have many more battles, but this could be the last Brady/Peyton game we ever see.
10/3/2012 11:00:33 AM
yeah i'm of course pulling for the Panthers 100%, but i want Russ to have a good day so he doesn't lose his job to backup extraordinaire Matt Flynn
10/3/2012 11:18:30 AM
i hope he throws five pick-sixes
10/3/2012 11:27:17 AM
Heard the first hour on WFNZ this morning, but had to get into work before Hurney came on. It's good to hear they actually backed up their crap talk when he came on. Normally they talk big before Hurney comes on and then throw softballs when he gets on the air.
10/3/2012 12:40:48 PM
welp
10/7/2012 4:08:18 PM
who will State/Carolina Jaguars fans cheer for? who will they cheer for?
10/7/2012 4:17:29 PM
im cheering for that holding penalty
10/7/2012 4:23:59 PM
I'm obviously pulling for the State Carolina Jaguars
10/7/2012 4:25:25 PM
gorgeous option play
10/7/2012 4:32:31 PM
1/8 for 12 yards......seriously?
10/7/2012 5:08:27 PM
what a turd of a game
10/7/2012 5:09:44 PM
seattle has a tendency to ugly up a game, right down to those hideous unis (i don't mind them usually, but they seem extra atrocious today)
